HSN channel proves that the Wii is dangerous
Stories of injury caused by the Wii have persisted since the launch of the console. There has been a number of reports where consumers have hit each other by accident playing on the Wii. However, it seems that the Home Shopping Network recently demonstrated to everyone once again the destructive power of the Wii.
As many of you may know the Nintendo Wii is all about motion controls. Most gamers playing on the console swing their arms from side to side vigorously just as if they were actually in the game. Initially when the console launched there were reports of people throwing the Wii-mote accidentally. Nintendo did not realize that this would become such an issue until the complaints mounted enough for the company to recall millions of wrist straps to have them replaced.
Despite Nintendo’s efforts to quell any safety concerns, Injury by Wii continues to be growing phenomenon. There is even a Web site called Wii Injury that posts accident videos and news. Gamers should check it out to see what not to do when playing with your Wii.
The Home Shopping Network recently demonstrated how dangerous the Wii can be when one of the announcers threw the Wii Tennis-mote at breakneck speeds at the TV. The TV screen was damaged by the traumatic impact of the tennis accessory for the Wii.

Judging from the video, the guy was swinging the tennis accessory like it was the real thing. Nintendo should educate the public of the fact that swinging the Wii-mote harder does not do anything different than just flicking your wrist. In fact you can just sit down and flick your wrist for most Wii games and it will have the same effect as swinging your arm wildly. Although doing that would completely take the fun out of playing on the Wii.

Jofa are you getting SSF4?
October 19th, 2009
Probably not. I got my fill with SF4, but might pick it up once it hits the $30 dollar bins, about the time SSF4 Turbo is released, hah.
I am a little miffed over the revelations that some of the characters were ready for SF4, but held back to add meat to SSF4.

The Wii would have been a huge it if only it was able to run HD gaming, keep their hardcore audience ( hardcore games use a wii controller not a wii remote with motion), better online service, trophies, and by NOT making almost all their first party game look like the previous-gen one
October 19th, 2009
Yeah but in order to make the thing competative with the 360 and ps3 they would’ve had to crank the price up, alienating alot of the ‘casuals’ who’ve purchased it. They did what they had to do to survive.
FUCK INFINTY WARD

This people are so stupid Wii is just a trash can wow the toy is pathetic. The Wii sucks is wow for morons wow is just so useless this idiots are so damn dumb wow. PS3 is the true gaming BEAST. Dave when was the last time you watched Nintendo display/demo the Wii? Thy are never flicking any wrist. They are doing full blown motions when they are showing off the machine. I know you can flick a wrist and achive the same results but like you said that would completely take the fun out of playing the Wii.

I think we should label all sporting goods with warnins such as ‘caution, swingin this too hard may make you lose your grip and hurt someone’, and footballs (the spherical ones) should be plastered with ‘may break windows if kicked at them’…
October 19th, 2009
“I know you can flick a wrist and achive the same results”
not if your using the Wii Motion Plus
October 19th, 2009
All the video shows is some moron using the controller to close to the TV, and admitting he didn’t attacked the tennis racket thingy correctly.
The Wii doesn’t kill Tv’s people kill TV’s.
October 20th, 2009
Wii is for cheap old people like grandparents or old girls. Xbox 360 is for 12 year old. PS3 is for everyone.

hey phranc,
are you getting Demon’s Souls, let me know i will help you go through the levels (but you have to do the first one on you own) or you are getting R+C instead?
nice game yesterday huh
October 21st, 2009
I have Ratchet and Clank pre-ordered and arriving at my abode by Tuesday.
If I do get Demon’s Souls it will be in the form of a Christmas gift.
Same thing can be said for NGS2, Borderlands and Assassins Creed 2. All look great but time, money and other obligations keep me from going to crazy.
That game was awesome yesterday.
I have to imagine that the Yankees earned a place in Hell yesterday. You can’t give such beatings to Angels and expect anything less.
October 21st, 2009
yeah, they should have been eliminate already.
what I like now its that the Yanks have a solid 1-2-3 pitching rotation. that’s what they were missing all this years.
I’m also getting R+C too bad it doesnt have any multiplayer
October 21st, 2009
“yeah, they should have been eliminate already.”
Thats so true. Yankees should have taken game 3. Theres so may subtle variables. Gardner not getting caught stealing and making the next pitch to Posada a HR instead of a 2 Run HR especially.
Oddly enough, the R+C game that had multipalyer (Deadlocked) was also the one I liked the least.
