Goldeneye remake coming to Wii in 2010?
Very few of us who were gaming in the N64 era will be able to forget playing Goldeneye 007 on the console. It was a genius game that still stands up to scrutiny if you can get past the distinctly unimpressive graphics. Although for the time, they were astoundingly good. For some reason, no Bond game since has been able to top Goldeneye on the Nintendo 64. But maybe Goldeneye 2010 on the Wii could.
That is if such a game exists.
The speculation that it does comes from Superannuation, which linked to the CV of Craig Peck, animator at Eurocom Entertainment Software. The CV lists Goldeneye 2010 (Wii), with Peck’s work on the title having finished in September of this year. It’s already known that Activision is planning to release a new, non-movie-based Bond game in 2010, and Peck has no reason to lie on his CV. So a Goldeneye remake seems highly likely.
If true, and Activision has neither confirmed or denied it. I’m not too sure how I feel about it. If it’s a remake which stays true to the original while adding better graphics and a sprinkling of new features then great. But if it’s a shoddy remake trying to cash-in on the name there’ll be millions of gamers annoyed at Activision for ruining the legacy of this glorious game.

I’m guessing we’ll have the millions of gamers pissed at Activision.
Goldeneye was a great game for it’s time, but the aspect that people loved the most (Multiplayer) has been exceeded by almost every other MP game out there. What Goldeneye was great for is now the norm.

I thought Rare owned the the game.
but yeah this game is not even going to have the same success as the original for couple of reasons:
- 4-player split-screen wont have the same success as it did before (look at Mario Kart) now that we can go against 24-32 online.
- this game is for hardcore player
- Wii remote…you will get you hands tire of moving it around in this action packed game

This would fit better in the DS.
Years ago this game was groundbreaking, today there is too much competence. I quote phranctoast: “What Goldeneye was great for is now the norm.”
I´m not against a good FPS in the console, but what are the odds for a GOOD remake from a masterpiece? One can only hope, wait and see.

MW2 if off the radar for me now.
Removing dedicated servers just ruined it, so I am not technically boycotting, I’m just not interested in the game as a whole anymore.
If anyone else plays pc here *feels alone*, get your grubby mits of borderlands. Co-op is damn fun.

I’m tempted to get the MW branded 360 with the 250GB but in the end I don’t think it will happen. But yeah this game will dethrone Halo 3 for a while on Live’s Top 10. Halo 3 will get back it’s crown but But that might be when Halo Reach drops.

Halo is Xbox 360 baby the most love game MW2 will be better on XBL for a while but Halo will no doubt be back as the king of rightful XBL. I wish Halo 2 was an XBL games with achievements and a expanded online system. I’m currently playing nothing since i no longer have anything but PSP.

Remaking Golden Eye for the Wii is totally useless. The game could sell like hot cakes if it had updated graphics and online modes.
Instead the game will have jaggies,waggies, and laggies. Useless.

That’s lame. That happens in Warhawk if you using a dedicated server. The gold trophy to host a server for 4 hours got it long time ago LoL. Is good to have all options available, too bad that’s not the case for Call Of Duty. I’m good host i never mess a game up by shutting down my dedicated servers. I always warn people by messages when I’m shutting down all wait for the game to be over. It sucks to lose all you done. Also is very risky to play on dedicated servers if you a stat whore like me. A lot of people canceling their Call Of Duty pre-order on Amazon.
