Xbox Bayonetta sells out and Microsoft banning Xbox 360 hackers
A sore subject regarding the Xbox 360 is around the mod community or hackers running rampant with the console. It looks like Microsoft is doing another clean sweep of XBL users who have a hacked Xbox 360 by banning their accounts. In other news, early reports seem to indicate that the Xbox 360 version of Bayonetta is more popular than the PS3 version.
One of the most annoying things on the Xbox 360 is the festering hacker community taking advantage of the console. Many gamers have started targeting the Xbox 360, much like the PS2 back in the day, to hack and modify the system in order to play pirated games. Not only do these hackers shaft the developers, their deviant behavior also impacts the community. Gaming the achievement system and overall Gamerscore ranking on XBL takes away from the hard work real gamers have put in.
According to IGN, Microsoft is taking action against a “small percentage†of consoles that have been hacked. Microsoft periodically does a clean sweep of the active Live accounts to catch hackers online. By banning those with hacked systems, hackers will not be able to log onto XBL.
In other news, there is an interesting report coming out of Kotaku indicating that the Xbox 360 version of Bayonetta may be sold out at most retailers in Japan already. According to Kotaku, Yodobashi, a Japanese based retail chain is reporting that Bayonetta for the Xbox 360 is sold out while the PS3 version is still in stock. This is a strange phenomenon as the Xbox 360 userbase is pretty low in Japan. There are two explanations for this occurrence put forth by Kotaku.
- The Xbox 360 version did receive a perfect score (40/40) by Famitsu while the PS3 version received a 38/40. You can read here as to why Famitsu scored the two versions differently.
- The other explanation given is that the retail chains normally keep lower stock of Xbox 360 games when compared to the PS3 version in Japan due to the low userbase.
Actually, I think its probably more of a combination of both explanations.
Bayonetta is a highly anticipated game, especially in Japan, so because the Xbox 360 version received higher score with lower retail stock, the game probably sold out faster. Also, on the flip side, could this be an indication that PS3 fans are irritated at SEGA’s EA-like port of Bayonetta? Okay, it wasn’t as bad as EA’s past debacle, but it still makes you think.

“Next year the PS3″ will finally have better looking multi-platform games because they won’t be “incompetent as a video game programmer(s)” and they will finally start using the BD for a clear advantage and true 1080p games standard… or is it the “next year” after that, or after that… of course the PS3 will also have more hackers by then as well that “takes away from the hard work real gamers have put in”… lol.
October 31st, 2009
That’s the only reason for buying a Xbox 360 to play pirated games. Microsoft try’s to ban as many people as they can but fails. Since they are also method of um-banding your account. When will they learn once your shit is hack the only way to stop is by either making a whole console or letting it slip by since they got enough money. people are already finishing Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare 2.

@CarlB lol
All the developers complained about the PS2 too but they had no choice. I hope Sony have learned something from this that will help them with the PS4.

awwww….how pathethic CarlB, Praising Bayonetta because is a 360 game but forgetting about the fact the Final Fantasy, Tales of Vispearia, Ninja Gaiden Signa 2, Protoype, Dead Space, and more.

CarlB just hates the PS3 but secretly enjoys it more then his Shitbox. I can list a bunch PS3 exclusives that look beyond perfection in all aspect. Also i don’t really know why he really purchase one since all his comments are hating on PS3 and praising the Xbox 360. And developers use PS3 then Xbox 360 to make their games.
me_:
Sony helps all developers they always say that just thought you should know about it.

I bought another 80GB PS3 my third one but this one is not backwards compatible. I will buying UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves soon before November 9. So we can play some Competitive and Co-Op.
I might go on HOME later.

“it being better on the ps3 (by 2 points lol) ur tv won’t enwont even notice the difference”
Despite the garbled nonsensical English.
You are such a hypocrite.
If what you mean here is that games which score closely are barely distinguishable then that’s a very interesting new standard you’re revealing there.
So, all those cross-platform games where the situation is reversed (and the Xbox version is the one scored a couple of points behind the PS3 one) you’re now saying makes no difference at all?
Yeah right.
Sure you really ‘think’ that.
You just chop and change to say anything to boost your beloved PS3 and attack anyone who not so desperately & obviously in love with it.
Carlb is pretty fair-minded – unfortunately your idea of balanced and fair is to be a ludicrously biased fanboy like yourself.
What a pathetic joke you are Roca/Ivan
(hilarious how – everytime – out of everyone here you, er, ’2′ can always be relied upon backing each other up).
Nobody’s fooled.

No body asked for your biased opinion. Keep ur hopes up on Bd going down. That’s all u have left to argue about
Sorry I didn’t use perfect English while writing from my HTC myToch cell. I didnt know perfect English was so important on a gaming forum. gammar all u have left now? U guess you got tired of waiting for BD to died
Good luck there

Have you even seen the comparison video for bayonetta ohh the difference is substantial. It does not change gameplay but visually your robbing yourself.

“Oh, ur comment was the first in the bayonetta article and it was related to it being better on the ps3 (by 2 points lol) ur tv won’t enwont even notice the difference”
The comment wasn’t about Bayonetta, it was about multiplatform games in general on PS3. It might play better on PS3 or 360, I don’t know because I haven’t played it yet.
“Don’t worry about it too much. Just call it another reason to get the Xbox 360 version, if you have the means.”
This is the source quote from kotaku available here:
kotaku.com/5386238/bayonettas-perfect-famitsu-score-+-theres-a-catch
But I imagine this is one of those things you probably won’t notice (like me) unless you have a very nice setup and are a videophile who really cares about the marginal difference between something like, let’s say, Netflix HD streaming and BD.

here a quote form Phrancoast:
“The differences are so small it hardly seems worth mentioning.”
another for ViRus:
“If the difference is barely noticable, what is the problem?”
from Barnabe Jones:
“The differences are minor, but if they don’t fix the issue, it’s just sloppy development.”
I know CarlB said that he does not even have a high end set up to noticed the different between scaled DVD vs Bluray so you also wouldnt notice the difference on this game.

ok…I just got done playing the GoW3 demo.
gotta say.. this game is GoW, GoW2, GoW:CoO combined and more…graphically (if you though the PS3 was maxed out after KZ2 or Uncharted 2..then think Again) this is on its own classs. you can judge by your self here:
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?p=18284618#post18284618
glove of the gods (GoW:CoO) are back and better than ever. the fighting is flawless as it has always been but its been tweaked a lil and now you are able to pull even more gory and jaw-dropping moves.
the Demo is a 10 to 15 minutes demo and take about 2.6 GB lovely HDD free space.
if you saw pics on the above link..let me know what you think.

“I know CarlB said that he does not even have a high end set up to noticed the different between scaled DVD vs Bluray so you also wouldnt notice the difference on this game.”
Well actually I said I did notice the difference between Netflix HD streaming/BD and upgraded DVD.
Just saw the video WOW. This game looks like it will be even more fun the God of War III… even my “blind” eyes can see the difference in quality between the two versions of it, no wonder they marked it down a whole 2 points for the PS3 version… and you know that has to be hard for a japanese publication. I bet they took a ton of flack for staying honest, but good on them.
In any case, those who only have a PS3 probably won’t miss the better visuals anyway, and the gameplay should still be intact, as long as there isn’t much framerate stutter to harm it. 360 version is in the queue, I haven’t played anyting on it for awhile anyways thanks to Uncharted 1 and 2, Infamous, and Demon’s Souls
Great stuff.

Robert,
It’s merged with PSN now, and you don’t have to be an “active member”, just preorder God of War Collection or God of War 3 (either edition) and it will come in the mail.

ya the game looks great the kills are cool aswell like the axe and the coffin and its BS cause i have been a very active member on PSN bought a lot of stuff of the store and been signed up since day one but I never get betas and the most annoying thing aswell is my friend is a die hard xbox fan but he still has a ps3 that he never uses yet he gets the HOME beta, LBP beta MAG beta and now the GOW3 demo its just BS and they WORST part he never gives them to me

You can always cancel the preorder after you get the code if you don’t want to pay full price for the item. No fee at Gamestop/Amazon and the codes come in as soon as they are available.
November 1st, 2009
@Robert,
register your PSN account on the playstation website (www.us.playstation.com/ps3) and stay active (at least once every 6 months) and regularly check your email mailbox and you should be all set.
I got 2 GoW3 demo codes to spare, I shot you one through PSN. I also got a ModNation Racers Beta code, but the beta hasnt started yet

you can just pre-order the game, get the demo, cancel the game the next day. simple as that.

How do MS know you’re 360 is hacked?
Mine isn’t, so I’m curious to know how you hack them, and therefore how MS would know it has been done.
November 2nd, 2009
@ Rhino,
MS can find out by firmware updates, roms, playing games before street day, by exploiting your Gamer points etc.
idk how ppl get away with it and still play on XBL

can I get a clarification that please…(not acussing you of being a liar) but I just saw this article from from the web which states “Bayonetta PS3 Sales Double Xbox 360 Sales”
“Despite being (mildly) inferior, the PS3 version of Bayonetta has sold over twice the number of copies the (slightly) superior Xbox 360 original has on its opening day…
The PS3 version sold a total of 93,000 copies, whilst the Xbox 360 version sold a mere 45,000″

ROM on Xbox 360?
You have to stealth patch all your Xbox 360 backups or else face the risk of being ban. If you play online. Also don’t play before the street you might just get ban. I actually broke all the rules and never got a single problem luck was with me i guess.

I have seen that on a lot of games already. GameStop puts that little message on them. I have pre-order so many games from GameStop but i never get anything from those fags. So I’m buying all my games now pre-owned or from eBay, they lost my money and trust for being the worst gaming retail in the world and the leat gaming educated.

Just had a look at those GoW 3 screen shots. That is one seriously pissed off dude in dire need of a hug. Seriously, he needs some anger management classes to control that rage!
Graphics look nice though. Great modeling on the main character during closeups.

@ Rimmer,
His personality is why GOW is so popular and it is why this is one of the best character ever created. he doesnt care about who you are, your size, your powers..if your a God or not,if your a gigantic Titan or not…he is out for blood. and he does it in a Jaw droping way
oh how I love Kratos
November 2nd, 2009
I love how they splattered him with blood
GOW needs a crazy ass co-op mode
Like Borderlands
The more playing the more enemies and the tougher they are.
Would be freaking awesome
November 2nd, 2009
I want it, but nobody on my friend list have the game so I can play co-op.
I love co-op games (no matter which way you can do co-op) split-screen, same screen, online co-op etc.
Shaowlin Monks (PS2) was awesome, if you had anybody to play it with.
This Gen I liked R1 (split-screen on hard) and R2 (online on super human), Uncharted 2 (horde mode and Story Co-op) and Demon’s Souls. Once im done with D.S. and U2 I’will try NGS2
November 2nd, 2009

best character in gaming? can you provide a link where a “unknown” or “not-so-popular” character has been nominated as the BEST CHARACTER in gaming. or you just making stuff up again?
November 2nd, 2009
“or you just making stuff up again?”
Pot, meet kettle….
November 3rd, 2009
I think, i said IMO in the beginning, but still i will post some links abt this “Unknown and Not So Popular Character”,
Its funny as The longest Journey is considered to be one of the best advenntur games ever, i thoutght as an decade old gamer, i thot u wud have known abt the game(if u have not played it), Dreamfall on xbox 1 is a direct sequel to this game, which was chosen Game of the year for xbox 1..
Personality:
April Ryan (sometimes, along with her Dreamfall counterpart Zoë Castillo) is considered one of the most memorable characters in the history of adventure games,[2][3][4] with some analysts going as far as crediting her for shifting the common vision of an adventure game protagonist from an Indiana Jones-like competent man to a more delicate and subtle, but nevertheless determined and talented heroine. Examples of this trend can be seen in many later games, most notably, Kate Walker (Syberia and Syberia II), Victoria McPherson (Still Life)..
One of the traits that helped the player to identify and empathize with April Ryan – a much praised concept [6] – was that she kept a diary. Unlike Zoë Castillo’s diary, April’s diary contains more self-revelations and allows much deeper insight in its owner’s character and background, allowing the player to trace her personal development.

I never got a chance with the longest Journey, but I do own DreamFall. I should reinstall it to see how it plays, haven’t had it running since a couple rigs ago, hah.

Dreamfall for the PC that is.

Jofa, if u gonna, play dreamfall, then atleast look up The Longest Journey on wiki or soemthing, so u get some idea abt the story.. Though i love dreamfall, its gameplay its not upto par with other games, but as far the story goes, its amazing.. The voice acting is one of the best..
I m just gonna look for the longest journey on net, may be its still on some torrents.. Feel like playing it again
