Stories of injury caused by the Wii have persisted since the launch of the console. There has been a number of reports where consumers have hit each other by accident playing on the Wii. However, it seems that the Home Shopping Network recently demonstrated to everyone once again the destructive power of the Wii.

Everyone by now knows that the PS3 is a tough machine to code on. It could be as difficult as attempting to code in assembly, which is pretty insane. There is a good amount of third-party software or evidence showing how some studios have miserably failed to harness the power of the PS3. However, first-party studios seem to be running circles around third-party studios. The secret may lie in inter-studio synergy.

Aaron Greenberg is at at it again, riling everyone who isn’t an Xbox 360 fanboy who believes the system will kill all-comers. This time it’s merely him expressing a simple belief that the Xbox 360 will outsell the PS3 both this calendar year and for the console generation as a whole. But as usual it’s the way he puts his message across. The man is a walking mouthpiece.

Recently, Sony announced it will be going with a two sku approach for the PS3 again. The new PS3 will come with a 250GB hard drive standard and will cost $350. The fact that this new model is priced only $50 more than the existing sku is puzzling.

The Nintendo Wii is many different things to different people. For some, it is the gateway to this hobby, the epitome of casual gaming. To others, it is a useless machine that should have been killed at birth. But love it or hate it, the Wii has been a phenomenon, (d)evolving gaming forever. How else do you explain the bicycle peripheral that’s heading our way?

With only a month before the next iteration of Call of Duty hits the stores, it seems that there are people out there that are seriously concerned with the Prestige edition of Modern Warfare 2. Apparently, the feeling is that the Prestige edition will cause a surge in the number of peeping tom incidents. Also, there is speculation that GameStop may be in for a rough holiday season as one of the directors sells millions of shares.

Gaming tends to follow trends, with genres peaking and dipping in terms of popularity. One of the biggest hits of recent years has been the rhythm-action genre, with game series such as Guitar Hero and Rock Band being guaranteed bestsellers and a virtual license to print money. But is there time coming to an end, or is there plenty of life left in the genre yet?

One of the longest enduring rumors in the video game industry is around the Mass Effect franchise coming over to the PS3. Bioware, the studio behind the brilliant game, has repeatedly denied such rumors for some time. However, some recent developments may hint at a PS3 version of Mass Effect 2. There was a bit of controversy earlier last month over the differences between the PS3 and Xbox 360 version of Bayonetta. The PS3 version of the game received some criticism from those who have played both versions at the Tokyo Game Show. However, as it turns out, the studio behind the development of the game is shifting all blame to SEGA.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is being released on the PS3 next week, with North America getting it first on Oct. 13. The game is enjoying amazingly positive reviews and could be the first true system seller on the Playstation 3. In a series of recent interviews, the developers of the game, Naughty Dog, has talked about various elements of the game.
