I’ve seen some truly awful games released on the Nintendo Wii over the past few years. The console, its success, and its proportion of casual gamers has led many developers and publishers to throw out shoddy games that wouldn’t even be considered on the PS3 and Xbox 360. So to grab the title of Worst Wii Game Ever must be extra-special. Step forward Speed Zone.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was released earlier this month to both critical acclaim and fan anticipation. And it broke sales records, becoming the fastest-selling game of all time and beating the revenues of films and albums. The latest release of the series has also pushed the franchise over the $3 billion revenue figure.

Splinter Cell: Conviction is one of the highlight games of Q1 next year. The game sparked a great deal of interest after its in-depth showing at E3. Despite a media blackout since the showing, some good news about the game was recently revealed that will have many gamers giddy with joy.

Online multiplayer is a relatively recent feature on consoles, but is something that PC gamers have been enjoying for years. It’s an important part of console gaming now, with some games only truly coming to life when taken online. However, is it the be-all-and-end-all for the PS3 and Xbox 360? Nolan North is the actor and voice actor that has been in so many video games that the list of titles takes up around a third of his Wikipedia entry. He’s best known for his roles in Assassin’s Creed (Desmond Miles), Prince Of Persia (The Prince), and Uncharted (Nathan Drake). And he recently spoke about his hopes for Uncharted 3 and the Uncharted movie that’s currently in development.

This holiday season is a key one in the continuing battle for console supremacy. With both the PS3 and Xbox 360 receiving price cuts this year and both due to have motion-sensing controllers released next year, strong sales over Christmas are essential. And it looks as though it could be the PS3 heading most people’s wish lists over both the Xbox 360 and Wii.

Dragon Age: Origins is a game turning heads – mostly for the right reasons but not entirely. It seems that there’s a gay sex scene which is prompting outrage from clearly homophobic fans of the game. And there was me thinking gamers were generally sensible, liberal people who wouldn’t think twice about a bit of man-on-man action in one of their games.
