Halo: Reach uses improved engine – leaked photos prove it
Halo: Reach is Bungie’s last hurrah within the Halo universe before Microsoft takes over development of the franchise. There is very little information about the game as it was recently announced. However, some early screenshots have leaked online and it looks like the game is running on an improved engine.
One thing is for certain, the Halo 3 engine has been starting to look a bit dated. In a series of leaked photos, images of what looks to be Halo: Reach shots have been released out into the wild. The images are a bit blurry as it looks like they were taken covertly within the confines of Bungie.

Judging from the menu it looks like this may be the full game and not the beta for Reach as there is a single player campaign option. It looks like Bungie is pretty far into development despite the fact this game will release near the end of next year. Also, the photos reveal improved lighting and textures on the weapons indicating some sort of upgrade to the Halo engine. Make sure to stay tuned for more information.

I’ll third that… the jungle scene does not even look that good. Sure it’s brighter, but nowhere near as sharp, or as detailed.
I think the important question is: So what happens after Reach? Will MS pay Bungie to make more games, or will they hand the IP off to a new developer? If they hand it off, who are they going to hand it off to? They don’t have a lot of first party studios to choose from.

also…Gears of War 1 & 2 on the PS3 would make more sense now. Epic can gain some $$$$ and double their franchise install base before Gears 3. it will be awesome if they use unreal engine 3 for it to showcase what the engine can do.

If I have time, I’m going to make a list of rings and weapons that I need.
Some of the major/arch demon’s souls can only be used for one thing, but a few have four to five uses (weapon, miracles, and spells). So I don’t think there is anyway to take care of them quickly.

You might want to check that out. I’m not 100% sure.
I think she asks you to find her brother, then when you kill him he drops the crest of Vinland. I think you need to go back to show it to her after that.

you need the “Water fall” spell and rife resistance ring and purple shield. you still are going to lose a chunk of your health but you can eat some grass at the higher ground in between the lava.

I think the item near Miralda is a colorless demon’s soul. I didn’t bother grabbing it. Looks like it might take a few tries to get the jump just right.
I’m not sure about 2-2… I don’t remember if I bothered with it last time or not. It might just be a high level demon’s soul. Not sure though.

I have the first on on PC and I’m kind of annoyed that Epic and MS tickled our asses with a feather with the first one if they had no plans on bringing the second to the PC.
I’m really not a fan of third person MP games for that reason. Co op MP through the SP campaign is cool though.

No jumping required for that colorless. Look at the beams that you can walk onto from the top of that area. They are missing in one spot, if you walk off the shortened beam at the top, you fall directly onto the beam level that has the colorless.

That is one of the best things about KZ2, the excellent combination of FPS and cover based systems. Mind you, Cover isn’t used a lot in MP unless it is a heavy sniping map.

My brother in law has my copy of KZ2, has had it since about july, heh. I didn’t buy the expansion packs, thinking I might just repurchase the game if it gets rereleased with them, or buy the all in one if I run out of shit to play.
I also need to get the GOTY Fallout 3 edition soon, I played some of the expansions on my computer, but that 53% completed I show for Fallout3 trophies in spite of my Platinum kind of bugs me, heh.

Wow BIG NEWS
Xbox 360 games will be optomized for the HD in 2010.
So it seems that starting in 2010 all 360 SKU will have a HD. I don’t know what size the arcade will get but it’s possible that it’s the 20GB. Currently developers have to make games work without optomizing the HD because of the arcade system. Apparently that will all change when the Arcade will start being packaged with a HD. If you don’t have a HD apparently the same game will not look as good as a 360 with a HD. Sounds fair to me. That means that 360 games will look better because of this move. PC does it and everyone claims the PC has the bast graphics so what does this mean for the 360. Oh I can’t wait.

Roca, try Dragon Age. It’s nonstop and much better to transition from Demon’s Souls.
On another note, I just received the Netflix disc for PS3 today. The picture quality is only slightly degraded and navigation is very slow when compared to 360, but still a great value for the PS3. You will also have to pay $2/mo extra for BD, but this is recommended as the picture quality is better than scaled DVD and slightly better than HD streaming (how much so depends on how good your setup his and how far you sit from the TV). I would recommend that if you have both consoles to pay the extra $5/mo for Gold and BD if you care about picture quality enough.

I always accept the changelle and run away from them until I get to a narrow walkway near a cliff…then I cast Fire Storm…and they just go flying..I dont get anything from it because to gain their souls you have to do the final hit. but as a BP if you died by the enviroment (fall of a cliff) you loose a Souls Level. lol

I specifically prefer playing offline, find the game takes much more time to progress through, and a guide/walkthrough is almost a requirement if you do not want to spend forever playing it. Not to say it’s not fun, just much more demanding than most games, both in time, effort, and patience. Time is the main one I do not have as much of right at the moment. Plus I now own the game, so I can play through it at my leisure when I go to Okinawa next year (where I probably will not be able to get GameFly, the connection will probably be slower, and I should have much longer blocks of gaming time available – translation: It will be one of my “island” games).
