Microsoft transitioning Halo to internal team from Bungie
Microsoft created 343 Industries, a new internal studio. This studio will be handling future Natal projects and also take over the development efforts of Halo games. According to a new job posting, it seems like Microsoft is ramping up to work on a new Halo game internally.
Since Halo: Reach will be Bungie’s last Halo game for Microsoft, 343 Industries was created to take over this job. The studio was named after an annoying character in the Halo game. This studio will apparently also work on Natal projects.
This new studio will most likely come under Peter Molyneux’s care as he is heading up all things Natal. Peter Molyneux was recently promoted to Creative Director of Microsoft Game Studios.
All of this came to light in a recent job posting discovered by Hot Blooded Gaming, which revealed that Microsoft is ramping up resources to work on a new Halo and Natal project. This new Halo game will undoubtedly be the first non-Bungie developed Halo FPS game. It will be interesting to see if 343 Industries can fill Bungie’s gigantic shoes.

WTF Microsoft can’t make anything but Halo wow Xbox 360 will never see anything new other then a rehash Halo game. This just proves again that Sony has more talent then Microsoft, because they make new IP plus continues other and they are all very successful. And Fable is one of the most boring game i have ever played.

Halo is an amazing game. If you don’t want to acknowledge that well that is just to bad Ivan. That is what makes great systems they have characters you can identify with. Nintendo has Mario and the gang and Microsoft has Halo and Gears. Sony has who? I guess it’s sackboys job now as I don’t know anything memorable character that came over from the PS2 that exsist on the PS3 today.

I want Halo Reach to be good. There is no way they could screw this up again. I want it to be up there with the first 2.
How many internal studios does MS have anyways? Because almost all of their exclusives seem to be timed, or an IP that they bought.
We need Rare to make multi-plat games (I know they’re owned by MS… but screw them). I want another true Banjo, and not to mention another Conker. Maybe some FPS to go along. When they did the N64, they were IMO better devs than Nintendo themselves…

Will you morons shut it up!!! My ggodness….Exclusive this…exclusive that…THE HELL WITH IT ALL!!! Anyways, is it just me or does the Halo series feel outdated now?
I mean lets be honest here Halo 3 was just a reamped crystallized version of Halo 2 in all honesty. There were hardly ANY original concepts in the 3rd series of Halo. Now I’m not bashing Microsoft or Halo because personally I own all 3 games.
But if Microsoft (or Bungee Jump) pulls some more crap like Halo ODST (a freaken expansion pack charged at full retail price) or tries to hash the next Halo game without original concepts like the first, then forget it.
It’s been nice knowing the Halo series while it lasted. But I have an odd feeling that Halo Reach will absolutely KILL the Halo series for me for all eternity…..if it’s anything like Halo 3 or 2.
Does the movie Mortal Kombat Annihilation ring a bell anyone? lol. Well actually I liked both Mortal Kombat movies. But i favor the first over the second.

You might be right but I kinda of doubt it…They probably wont be able to use Natal untill the new Halo (expansion..it will have maps tho lol) after reach comes out from the new M$ studio? If they do decide to release natal with reach it will most likely be buggy and full of glitches and quite possibly burn down your house…but that wont stop the followers from going back to the store and buying 10 more (back ups) with a smile on there face.

The point is it is a Microsoft exclusive which benefits their gaming division which can also benefit 360. The same could be said for Free Realms and Sony, that is if they ever release it for PS3 as well.

I don’t think you guys understand what a long standing character is. Mario definately is and Master Cheif is to but Solid Snake? You find him on Nintendo so He does not count. Rachet and Clank? Well I would be embarased to say that. Kratos, well I’ll give you that but He has yet to make his apparance but I know he will hopefull next year. Sackboy is a joke and Nathan Drake is becoming a good character but He is just starting out and has yet to cross over to another generation.

I m not taking a dig at sony, i m just stating whenever a comapny, launches their console, they do have to make certain kind of investments.. Can u imagine any new company jumping into this gen starting their own games, no multiplats etc.. Sony/microsoft both had to make certain investments to get certain franchises on their consoles.. It happens all the time and i dont think, their is anything wrong in it..

yeah but sony didnt steal any Nintando’s game. multiplatform games were also on Sega’s console.
my point is Sony did not steal or paid anything for FF7. and in fact Sony made most of their investment on first party studios, which brought them most of the new IP i mentioned above.

Sony have Publishing rights on FF7 and and FF8 in the US. and publishing does not mean stealing.
Im sure you can understand that FF was not that big of a franchise in the US back then so Sony had to publish the game to bring to the US.

That’s exactaly the point Nintendo started to slide. Since the 64 and on, they have consistently released inferior console’s in terms of technology. If developers want to make good games, which push boundaries, they look elsewhere.
The Wii isn’t the platform of choice for graphics, physics, online, etc, etc. If you want a game with waggle that looks worse then a PSP game, then the Wii is the perfect choice.

Not doing as good as they are now, certainly.
Probably keeping pace with the PS3 right now or slightly behind instead of millions of units ahead. They are still relatively new to the industry and most Sony fans certainly did not expect them to be this far ahead (or ahead at all) at this stage in the game.
You could also ask where Sony would be without MGS/FF/GT sales. What franchise that has currently crossed over to PS3 matches Halo in total sales and popularity success combined? I don’t know.
You could also ask where would Sony be without an entire generation (6 year) head start in the industry, not to mention decades more experience manufacturing hardware and a substantial cultural advantage in Japan.

360 would still be a great console without Halo, I think it’s got some brilliant exclusives like GOW and Mass Effect and hopefully Alan Wake lives up to expectations but stupid fanboy comments like ‘Master Chief is the greatest and only console mascot ever and all others are bitches compared’ (CAD lol) is annoying.
I think the 360 is an amazing console with brilliant games but saying Sony has no gaming characters that define their console(CAD) is pathetic and saying that Ratchet and Clank as a mascot is embarrassing is a completely retarded ‘fanboy’ comment to make.
The fact is Sony do have more mascots, Sony have been in the Console world longer than M4 so there’s one reason why but CAD you need to stop your pillow talk with Kev at night lol.

I already did… the responses varied at times, from anything such as: “it’s faster to type than MS” to it is “because they make so much money”, to it is the standard acronym (though a standard search of valid sites could not reflect it as such), etc. In any case they did drop the XBot term in combination for the most part, so they do sound like less of a fanboy, at times when they are not spouting about how “superior” the PS3 is.
