Killzone 3 on way to PS3 in 2010 or 2011?
Killzone 2 was a huge hit on the PS3 earlier this year and kind of heralded a new dawn for the Sony console. Since then, the PS3 has been selling well and the number of exclusive games being released has increased. So what about Killzone 3? Surely that’s a shoe-in at this point in time. And it seems that’s correct, with the only question mark being over when it will actually appear.
According to Connected Consoles, Guerilla Studios employee Jan-Bart Van Beek told a Dutch TV show recently:
Right now, Killzone 3 for a release in 2011, is being developed. Who knows, maybe we’ll see the game even as early as 2010.
This follows on from a piece in the December edition of Playstation: The Official Magazine entitled ‘The Secret Games of 2010′. The article claims that “Killzone 3 is reportedly deep in development.”
In short, Killzone 3 is clearly on its way, although neither Sony or Guerilla has announced the game as of yet. A 2011 release looks likely although if the same engine is used then development time could be reduced to enable a release late in 2010.

I hope it comes out in 2010 i want this game so bad. Killzone 2 was awesome a true master piece.

There is no way it’s coming in 2010, a year of development would be rushing it, but it should come along quicker than KZ2. 2011 sounds better. If there is a decent improvement in graphics, that is.
I picked up A Crack In Time yesterday, now I’m a few hours in… good game really, IGN’s review was on track, 9/10. What I don’t understand is why it got an 8.5 on graphics, they look really nice. I mean, cmon, ODST got a 9 in graphics (I know I sound like a rampant fanboy going on about ODST all the time, but it’s the only example I could find =P).
What I think shined in Killzone 2 was the enemies and the explosion/spark/smoke effects. It still looks better than Uncharted 2 in some aspects, and I just love how the enemies react to the flamethrower… good stuff. Just please take away all like 45 of those useless multi-player trophies…

I want the platinum in every game I can, but the one in Killzone 2 is just plain hard because of all of the ones at the bottom of the list. I did get one of the hardest ones down (beat it on Crushing), but the hardest is probably where you need to be one of the top players online. And at KZ2 online, I am bad…

Fuck off, really!? I really didn’t like the graphics, especially when I was the Rook, too dark. I know that’s the intention but I didn’t like it. Great game tho, graphics are just a bit dated tho.

I hope the protagonist in Killzone 3 is about 2 feet taller than the guy in Killzone 2. I kept having to look up to talk to people. I felt like Hornswoggle.
I can’t see why they can’t release it in 2011. They already have the engine, they just have to design new levels, create a story etc. Perhaps have some fighting on Earth where they can display some colour. And nut shots, they have to have nut shots this time around.
