Hackers figure out how to unban Xbox 360s merely days later
Only days after the massive ban Microsoft initiated, hackers have been hard at work figuring out how to circumvent the ban. It seems like some modders have made some advancements on un-banning their Xbox 360s with limitations. Will Microsoft react to this with another wave of bans?
Two days ago I talked about Microsoft banning one million gamers on Xbox 360. It seems like the hackers have been hard at work on figuring out how to un-ban their Xbox 360s. According to YOURemgn, it seems like there is a fix for the ban but with serious limitations. Apparently, you have to have a previous version of the firmware or have an Xbox 360 that RROD’ed for the fix to work.
Luckily, the fix is pretty convoluted and complex enough that the average wannabe modder won’t be able to circumvent Microsoft’s fix easily. Game pirates just need to face facts and take their medicine or punishment which is justly deserved.

Wow Happy was right, someone will just create another hack. Yeah everyone I know who modded got banned. It is funny because I think Modders were under the impression that you had to be connected to Live in order to be banned but my cousin said that he just turned it on and the ban was in affect. Mind you he did connect to LIVE but he did not connect during the sweep. But here is the joke. You actually don’t get kicked from LIVE which is the impression the ban gives. Your LIVE account is still good it’s just the specific 360 that gets banned.

Wow. Piracy on the 360 is so easy even Ivan can do it. But yet it still sells more software in the latest NPD than Wii and PS3.

No Ivan, I actually purchased mine because the price finally came down, they finally made trophies standard just this year, PSN is more finely tuned, I waited for the redesign, and I waited for enough exclusive titles to come to PS3 (such as Uncharted, Infamous, Demon’s Souls, etc.) to justify the purchase of a second home console.
I also enjoyed getting the Uncharted 1 and 2 platinum trophies before you, the biggest self-proclaimed fan of Sony and these games here.
Looking forward to playing God of War Collection in 5 days, how about you?

2 days ago i finished UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves on VERY EASY and just now i finished the game on HARD. I won’t try CRUSHING because i know i will just get crush, unless they add more trophies.
I want this game for Game of the Year but i know Modern Ware 2 might get it because there a lot of stupid people that will vote for it.

If you don’t already on a Ps3 system, it is a great time to get a Ps3 with all the great exclusive titles that are out and coming out. I absolutely love the God Of War games. It’s going to be amazing playing God Od War in all its high definition glory.

Wow U2 has the easiest trophy i got three trophies in a row for beating the game on HARD sweet. %61 i might try to go Platinum. Congrats to everyone that finished UNCHARTED 1 or 2 both have awesome story.
UNCHARTED 1 & 2 inspired me to story like the one on the games.

Nothing worse than getting an achievement for starting the damn game… I mean c’mon, you should get one for completing the damn game (per difficulty), and others for things that are difficult or optional to accomplish.

As for the article, I believe you need to dump the info from an unbanned 360. In which case you’d probably need to own one unless you have access to a lot of 360′s, so you’d have bought it anyway, so why bother… Even then MS would probably detect it and ban the it again.

I suppose, its a good way to catch ppl who mod their consoles and download games b4 the strret date.. Even if u dont connect to live, while playing the game, the moment u start a game, u get the achievement, its recorded in the xbox memory.. they shud mmake it madatory for games to have an 0GS achievement for starting the game..

Microsoft should file a lawsuit against all of the hackers and the morons who reattempted to surpass their xbl ban. It is illegal and requires swift punishment. Microsoft will get the last laugh when those idiots are tossed in a federal prison. If I’m correct being convicted of piracy, theft, and false identification earns a minimum of 5+ years in a federal prison. And since those goofballs persisted in hacking the 360, they can expect to serve 89% of their sentence without parol.
Hmmph what a shame…..You can run but you can’t hide.

I got about 60 UMD games/movies. PSP Go is just not my thing. I do love the the three letters without the last 2 letters. I use custom firmware to play homebrew games i make or other members app. I got every PSP exclusives in UMD. I only download games non- exclusive or any Xbox 360 game including ex exclusives. I got every game exclusive legit except for the Xbox 360.

What if one of those hackers was your rival competition? They could be figuring out ways on how to exploit your product and create a better console than the previous one you produced. Wouldn’t that piss you off my friend?

Carlb, The wii is probably modded more then the 360. it is much easier to mod a wii then the 360.
Isn’t NDP US only? Where there are more 360s the PS3s? Grow up already.
No one cares how many games are sold on the PS3, Wii or 360. I have around 14 PS3 games so what does that mean? The PS3 is better because it sold more games to me then the 360?

It *used* to be that for something to have been considered piracy the plaintiff would have to demonstrate that the defendant profited from their work. Simply violating a license is not piracy.
Many of the banned xboxers are saying that they committed no piracy of any kind but did run other mods and others say they did nothing and were banned unfairly.
This is probably an experiment being done by M$, it is common knowledge that they want to go to a lease model where you buy a game and pay every month/year again and again to continue to use it.
