Medal Of Honor series not dead after all
The Medal Of Honor series was/is an important one as it set the tone and acted as the basis for the series which came after it. Most notably, of course, it led to the creation of Infinity Ward and the creation of the Call Of Duty series. Modern Warfare 2 has been ultra successful, so is now the right time for EA to create and release a new Medal Of Honor title?
I fondly remember the first Medal Of Honor game released on the PS1 in 1999. It was innovative on home consoles at the time and paved the way for what was to follow. I also loved the opening scenes of Medal Of Honor: Frontline on the PS2, which plays like the opening of Saving Private Ryan. But the series has faltered since then, with Call Of Duty picking up the slack.
However, the series may not be dead after all. According to Joystiq, the Q2 conference call saw EA Games label president Frank Gibeau say:
In the months ahead, you’ll hear more about our plans to revitalise core IP, including the Medal Of Honour franchise.
Gibeau was speaking from the point of view of Need For Speed: Shift having revitalized that series and how it’s not the only IP in need of some care and attention (and a change of direction).
So, what do you think? Does the world need another Medal Of Honor game? Should it be set during World War II or be brought up to date in the same vein as Call Of Duty was with Modern Warfare? Are you past caring?

My favorite were Frontline and Rising Sun on the PS2. After that, I pretty much moved to Call Of Duty. And I’m quite frankly sick of FPS just because I played so much Medal of Honor.
The series is dead to me, and so is Need For Speed. You can’t go on with a series forever.

Well the PS2 I have no Idea about but the XBOX version I do know. I Loved the Metal of Honour series as it was a two player campaign and a great campaign at that. It has lost it’s spunk but I remember the second one had a great multiplayer. The last one where you parachuted in was good to but it never really took off. I think it needs to come into this century as the old world wars are now played out. Someone needs to rival COD.

I don’t know I been burned out on “war-games” for awhile now. But if they could do something totally diff with the old wars maybe Indian wars lol or something hell I don’t know, History is full of wars just pick a kick-ass one and take the time and money to make it right it might be worth checking out? I am sick of WW1-2/Mordern stuff.

that game was Guerrilla was acquired by Sony and it was a Xbox game. it also sold over 900,000 copies, not bad for a FPS at that time, horrible game and a new IP

That IP was from another company they just developed it fro that other company. The only game Guerilla Games made %100 was Killzone series.
