Gran Turismo 5 “closer to reality”
We still don’t know when it’s going to be released outside of Japan but Gran Turismo 5 is definitely close. The coverage is starting to ramp up, with rumors of content, the level of damage featured, and a whole host of other stuff now clearly on the agenda. And in his latest chat about the game, Yamauchi has revealed that GT5 is “closer to reality” than any previous title in the series.
In an interview featured in the December issue of the Official Playstation Magazine (UK), Polyphony Digital CEO Kazunori Yamauchi spoke about the differences between Gran Turismo 5 and previous titles. As well as stating that the weather system is done and that night racing is happening, he said:
The balance between reality and ease of driving is difficult, but we are reaching closer to reality. I think the first 10-15 seconds with Gran Turismo 5 make you realize how much has changed. The cars are easier to drive, but when you lose control the reactions of the vehicles are more realistic than ever before.
The GT games have been slowly edging closer to reality with each title, so this isn’t a big surprise. However, it IS a balancing act because driving games that are too realistic are generally less fun and more a chore. But I can’t see Yamauchi getting the balance wrong. Surely.

I’m interested to see what this baby can do
I’ve never been a fan of Gran Turismo up until now. I know on Playstation 2 the graphics were phenomenal back in the day. God knows what the Playstation 3 will do!!!! Ha ha. Don’t disappoint me Yamauchi

Yes, you do need an XBOX LIVE Gold Membership to play MW2.
Here’s a simple way of describing the difference between the two types of membership; Silver Members get everything the Gold Members get (such as downloading demos to purchasing movies), except playing online gaming. That is the one sole thing a Gold Member will have over a Silver Member-playing games online, whether it’s online multiplayer in GTA4, to online multiplayer in Halo 3.

I have a feeling that this game is really going to be something. It has the development team, development time, and funds to create a truly phenomenal racing game. Worst-case scenario is that it flops like GT: PSP (which actually wasn’t too bad besides the lack of campaign).

WELL I’m not going to pay $60 bucks a year for something I rarely use during the year. Which is why I hardly play my 360 now. It’s just a got damn waste….
I guess that’s the reason why I favor PS3 over the 360. It meets my convenience. I’m not saying it’s the best but it’s what I prefer. Microsoft is “CLEARLY” out for business and business ONLY!!

Gran Turismo 5 will make more history is already in the record book the series this one is just gonna make new records. This game is revolutionary. Sony has made a huge massive impact on the gaming industry without Sony video game would still look like N64 graphics with no innovation or high disc drives or quality and everything.
Polyphony Digital has proven to be the greatest racing game developer in the world kudos to Sony.

GT5 has got competition. Forza 4. By the time GT comes out, Forza 4 will be out too. For once Ivan is right. GT5 is in the recod books. For the longest wait for a game since Duke Nukem (if its still in development).
Jeez sony, pull your little pink socks up and get the game out already. If you want to make it perfect it will never come out, coz everything can be improved.
At least 360 owners can play Forza 3 now, while they wait on the next version.

Don’t know about the WRC but to be honest, the Nascar sucks donkey ass big time. A bunch of red neck inbred hicks, with “my first scaletrix set” names like Ricky Rudd and Billy Boat (ha ha ha, I am laughing just witting those play school names) droning round and round the same old oval just a different states. Boring. I would love to throw a right hand turn in there just to see what they did. Crash I suppose but worth seeing. I mean no wonder the americans are rubbish at racing, they cant turn right and have no experience using the break peddle.
And WRC. Maybe good but I would rather have a dedicated rally game for that. Just like I wouldn’t want road racing in Colin McRae for example.
I would keep GT and Forza pure road race games.

The game goes through the three two previous games in the beginning so it’s not necessary. Q4B is short enough for a good impulse buy. It also has a strange difficulty level. I recall being overwhelmed at times.
For hardest trophy, I’d start the game in Hard. Then you only have to replay it once in the challenge mode.
I’m finding the most difficult trophy for me is “my blaster runs hot”
Its a low graphic smash tv arcade game in the Battle arena space ship. You wont get to it until you unlock that section which I think is at least the third galaxy.

Gran Turismo 5 the only reason i’m that game is because i have all the previous game but i have never ever beaten 5% of any GT. I guess is just to have and to play online.

I’d say the other trophies are fairly easy. If you don’t get the 1 million bolts you’ll definitely get it in challenge mode. The trophies are optional parts of the game but more than likely stuff you’d do anyway and not the normal “have 10 head shots in a row while pissing” stuff other games have.
The collection of bolts, Zoni, gun modifications, and Rhyno V plans were things I was doing anyway. At some point you win a treasure map in the arena and that helps big time for the many obscure hidden locations.

I need to beat “my blaster runs hot”, need to complete all space missions (I thought I did them all) and I have to play on hard and challenge mode. Those last two will take at least 20 hrs of my time since I played it originally on Normal.

Phranc – okay. I’ve read the Amazon reviews. Yes, there appears to be some problems with the Matchmaking portion but it’s not equitable to label it as “MP problemâ€. The MP gameplay is fine and is even hyped as being great. It was funny reading the whiners blaming FM3 b/c other drivers were crashing into them. This is why I highly doubt the cred of these reviews.
If you don’t like the matchmaking, try racing with friends until they fix it, create your own match, and have fun. Pretty simple math, really.
If you want to use this as issue, go ahead. But you had BETTER stand behind your belief when GT5 is launched and be ready to own up to the online issues it will have.

I would like to thank Jofa, BJ & SW for the help they povided me for Demon’s Souls. without them I wouldnt have gotton the Platinum trophy.
-Jofa was a living Demon’s Souls Encyclopedia.
-SW provided me with good tips and info on how to take down bosses
-BJ was my partner in crime. so many mamories of both of us getting owned by a Black Phantom intruder (spawn camping our game)..after so all the struggles, we prevailed and stuck together until the end

BIG Gratz on the DS Platinum, great sense of relief, eh? Awesome. You can imagine how hard I nerded out to get that platinum without any assistance, but regardless is an big accomplishment. I read somewhere that Atlas claimed only .05% platinum trophy rate (1 out of 2000) among the asian accounts, I imagine it is even lower amongst north americans, we don’t take hardcore to the same level, heh.

We are getting the store put not until 2010 which is BS when the UK has it now and if you look at it this way the UK store updates are the same as the ireland store updates all the time we get the same games demos and vids we also get vidzone the exact same time as the UK so why not this it’s retarded I just hope enough Irish ps3 owners bitch about this enough that we can get it sooner
