Rumor: Gears of War 2 finally coming to PC?
There is an interesting rumor floating around about Gears of War 2 finally coming to the PC. Cliff Bleszinski stated in late 2008 that there will be no PC version of Gears of War 2, ever. However, it seems like the game may be heading towards the PC according to some interesting clues.
In an interview with 1Up, Bleszinski stated that EPIC has no intentions of porting over Gears of War 2 to the PC like the company did for the original. Many PC gamers were bitter at this move as it left all of the gamers who enjoyed the first one out in the cold.
However, according to some interesting finds from Split-Screen, there seems to be some indication that this game may be coming to the PC. The site uncovered an animation test video showing a locust running around, which seems to have been created a few months back by Markus Hammarstedt.

Hammarstedt is an animator for People Can Fly (PCF), which is a studio that was acquired by EPIC Games two years ago. PCF also ported the first Gears of War game to the PC for EPIC Games. It makes sense that if Gears 2 was going to be ported to the PC, PCF would be the studio to do it.

It would want some serious graphics improvements to receive any notice on the PC at this stage.
At least we’d be able to play it at 1080p or above.

You can always use the Xbox 360 controller on your PC or the PS3 there’s a driver for it. Also i play the first one with the mouse no problem.

Everyone already knew it wouldn’t come to PS3 any time soon since is an Xbox 360 exclusive deal for the Gears of War Trilogy, maybe when the deal is over after the third game it might happen. And the comment you made about God of War III going to multiplaform was awful since is own by Sony of course it won’t happen unlike Gears of War is own by Epic Games not Microsoft. And why is it that this website loves the Xbox 360 so damn much every time i come here to read one of your post i see you talking about it. Might as well change the name to PS3 and Xbox. Also it will be awesome having Gears of War on PS3 i would love to see that, to shut up every Xbot in America NYC 4 LiFe LoL. Microsoft can’t keep this game. Gears is fantastic and was part of the reason I bought a 360, just like why I bought a Wii for Mario and a PS3 for God of War, Gran Turismo, Uncharted 2, etc.

Meh, it won’t make a splash on PC.
It will be just like the first. Way too easy, over simplified for the console market making mouse nad keyboard gameplay utterly boring.
On top of all that it has to be ported well, which usually isn’t the case. Menus are often clunky as they were designed for controllers and then you’ve got issues binding keys (for the same reason as the menus), and graphically they look like 360/PS3 games which is bad bad bad.
I didn’t hate Gears 2 on 360 (except the for the repetition) but I really can’t understand the hype the game recieved.
I have to get back to my cave now. I tell ya, we pc gamers coulda made a hell of a living in in ye olde days. Some people would actually pay others to live as a hermit on thier land… Stylish thing I guess…

By the time this actually makes it to PC, it will be just another sloppy console port that requires harware far beyond its actual performance. on top of that, it will be quite dated. What a lazy cash grab.
