Codemasters: People buy Xbox 360 & PS3 for online multiplayer, the Wii is different
Online multiplayer is a relatively recent feature on consoles, but is something that PC gamers have been enjoying for years. It’s an important part of console gaming now, with some games only truly coming to life when taken online. However, is it the be-all-and-end-all for the PS3 and Xbox 360? And is the Wii the odd one out because it’s generally about the offline multiplayer experience?
Speaking to Square-Go recently, Codemasters’ Jason Wakelam explained the development process for F1 2009, a title only being released on the Wii and PSP. F1 2009 has no online components whatsoever, but Wakelam explains the reasons for this quite succinctly. He said:
We decided not to introduce any online components for these two platforms. We wanted to focus on what we thought were the main reasons people bought these consoles. Had we been working on PS3 or Xbox, these online multiplayer would have been a given because that is absolutely why people buy those consoles.
It’s not that these consoles are not capable of providing a good online multiplayer experience, but we asked ourselves ‘are people that buy a Wii interested in playing online’. Some certainly are, but for the most part they are looking for a social experience that can involve all of the family.
I’m not sure online multiplayer is the reason most people buy a PS3 or Xbox 360, but it’s certainly a big part for many. However, there are millions of owners of these two consoles for whom online gaming isn’t an option and single player and offline multiplayer are still a huge draw. I’d hate to see these people left behind as online features are relied on too heavily to increase a game’s longevity/playability.

Is there still really a reason to buy a Wii over a PS3/360? If you are 9 years old, I’m sure you would want a Wii. However, it has nothing on PS3 or 360, and in my opinion, it didn’t revolutionize anything. I own one, and I’ve said it before, the motion sensing just doesn’t do it for me.
November 28th, 2009
Personally I don’t use either the 360 or the ps3 for online play. There are too many morons that just ruin the experience.
The only games I played online was the battlefield series on PC, but that was because you could work as a team and smash the campers, noob tubers etc.
November 28th, 2009
Indeed spidey.
I’ve been playing the BFBC2 beta on the PSN pretty hardcore since it came out and the lack of team work and general ass-hattery is astounding.
I long for the PC beta.
November 28th, 2009
Single-player>multiplayer experience for me. The single player is the main course, it gives you the impression. Multiplayer is there to extend re-playability and add addiction. If a game is online-based, it better be damn good. Like MAG. My one cousin has the beta and calls it the best game he’s ever played (he’s a fan of large-scale tactical online battles, like Warhawk).
And oh lord spidey… that isn’t the clown I think it is? Is it? Is “IT”?! I saw the movie long ago (found it funny… KISS MEH FATBOI =D) but now I’m reading the book, and I’m starting to see clowns differently. Brrr.
November 28th, 2009
Pennywise the IT clown, it is ….. part of the red haired ranga team
November 28th, 2009
I don’t know about the PS3 being bought for multiplayer purposes but for sure the 360 is an online beast. LIVE is just part of the DNA of almost every 360 game where the Online experience for PS3 is more like a tacked on feature. As for Nintendo well you heard what they said. 80% of there customers are females. I no longer consider the Wii as a competing console. No wonder their third party sale are garbage. Wii owners are probably more intrested in playing Farmville.

MAJOR CANADAIN NEWS
XBOX 360 OWNERS REJOICE
Rogers Communications is about ready to beta launch its online on-demand service called Rogers On Demand Online (or RODO for short). RODO will mirror the offering of Rogers current on-demand video service providing thousands of different TV shows that can be viewed instantly (similar to Netflix & Hulu). The service is expected to start off with 15 different network partners with mostly from Rogers owned properties such as CityTV and Rogers Sportsnet, A&E, Bio and G4 Canada. The new services will be available to all current Rogers Cable subscribers at no additional charge.
What is most interesting is that Rogers has made it known that they intend to bring the service to mobile devices and home consoles early 2010.

I only wish the rest of the article could be read but there seems to be a problem.

As much as I love LIVE there is a bit of unfairness regarding the price paid for LIVE depending on where you live. For examle in Canada we don’t get Netflix or Last.FM or SkyTV like the UK yet we pay the same price as Americans. So if this happens I’ll be quite happy. Although most of the problem lies with the CRTC which regulates everything in Canada. I hate the CRTC. Apparently Last.FM charges $3 for their service in Canada and other countries as well and only USA and UK get the service for Free which is the reason why it never showed up on the 360 in Canada. I hope this changes.

‘Online experience for PS3 is more like a tacked on feature.’
How’s that then CAD? So MAG is a tacked on game?
November 28th, 2009
With all fairness though I must say that we did get TV/Music support as of the Update for ZUNE Marketplace and shows like South Park season 13, The Office, Heros, V, Vampire Diaries, Gametrailers TV, The City, The Hills, The Tudors, The OC, 30 Rock, The Colbert Report, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and much much more are now on the 360 for Canada as well as a selection of Music.

“Codemasters: People buy Xbox 360 & PS3 for online multiplayer, the Wii is different”
No sh!te Sherlock, d’ya think?
My sister’s family just bought a Wii
(and their son is another PS2 owner that isn’t bothered about a PS3).
They have a decent & recent (W4000 Sony, funnily enough) 40″ HD TV.
They wanted a console with pick-up and play games any of their friends & family could enjoy when they visit & come round for a bit of a few drinks and a bit of a house party.
They saw the video I brought back of our brother’s kids and I having a good time on their Wii when I was in Singapore and liked the idea of active games you had to get up and move about for instead of everyone just sitting welded to a chair.
Some people might hate it but for those who don’t take gaming so seriously Wii is expanding tha market and customer base, which can only be a good thing for gaming overall.
November 28th, 2009
Does the Wii even have any online games? Maybe a handful by now, but not too many.
November 28th, 2009
@CAD
I said it before, my one cousin has the beta and calls it the best game he’s ever played. He is a fan of large-scale online battles. It’s looking pretty good. I mean, really, what game has multiplayer THAT deep?
November 28th, 2009
“which can only be a good thing for gaming overall.”
I disagree. I’m seeing the ‘hollywood-izing’ of games these days because of mass market. It makes me a sad panda.
November 28th, 2009
SW
Surely the point has to be that without an expansion (or at very least sustaining) of the existing gaming infrastructure/market – particularly in this current economic climate – then we would all be suffering fewer games funded and fewer devs remaining in business.
How is that not a (massive) plus?
November 28th, 2009
I would take fewer quality games over what we have now which is an absolute ton of games with very diamonds in the rough (much like Hollywood movies).
The Wii library is a perfect example. There are about seven good(imo) games on the Wii. Everything else is shovel ware trash or gimmicky wii fit/sports, etc.
I get what you’re saying about the casuals keeping the business alive, and I’m not against the 360 users and PS3 users (many are hardcore of course, but others not so much) but its the Wii that worries me just a little
Like I said, I’ve seen the dubming down of games since the PS2 days and it sucks. I fear I lost my point here but I have to go out
November 28th, 2009
@barn
It has a few online games and some of them are really good like super smash bros and couduit but the thing that’s holding back the Wiis online is the friend code it’s just a real pain if nintendo can get rid of it they would have a pretty decent online and a really great game store
@SW
I would have to agree with happy here because it increases the amount of console users who will probaly upgrade to a PS3 or Xbox eventully and the Wii is good example of how the video game market is not just all violent video games which can only be a good thing because this sort of media is looked down on
November 28th, 2009
The Xbox360 and Ps3 I get. The Wii system I’ll never get.
November 28th, 2009
The only game that is REALLY good on the Wii is Twilight Princess. That game is pretty awesome, but it would’ve been nicer as a multi-plat with nintendo as the developers. Also, Brawl is great if you have friends over. I would rather play Super Mario 64 than Galaxy (not insulting it, but the series went downhill). The Wii is ovverated.
November 28th, 2009
I mean “overrated”… got my double consonants screwed up. What a tragedy…
November 29th, 2009
“Like I said, I’ve seen the dubming down of games since the PS2 days and it sucks.”
I know man, it’s like, whatever happened to those really deep games that came before that “dumbing down” period… like this one for instance:

“No MAG is over hyped Bullshit”
256 players online game is “overhype”?? Im sure XBL can put up twice as many player as MAG lol
I think MW2 was waaay over hyped, being just like the previous game with minor improvements
November 29th, 2009
MW2 is over hyped but you can’t deny it’s a fucking brilliant game! Spec ops is the best co-op game since Resi5. Got my platinum on MW2 the other day, the last 2 spec-ops were a ball ache lol.
November 29th, 2009
@old
You wana help me get my last 3 stars?
November 29th, 2009
Pong has always sucked.
Duck Hunt on the other hand, was an amazing game.

This MAG is suppose to be some kind of tactical shooter with 256 Players but trust me it is no different then any shooter out there. All it is, is even more idiots running around shooting each other with no co-operation, probably half with no mics and just one big battle field of crazyness. Trust me overhyped Bullshit.
November 29th, 2009
Roca
When did you get your MW2?
November 30th, 2009
MAG will be overhyped , and will dissapoint quite a few.
Such is the case with highly anticipated games.
People like to build things up so much that they can’t possibly meet their expectations.
November 30th, 2009
‘This MAG is suppose to be some kind of tactical shooter with 256 Players but trust me it is no different then any shooter out there. All it is, is even more idiots running around shooting each other with no co-operation, probably half with no mics and just one big battle field of crazyness. Trust me overhyped Bullshit.’
@ Cad: So if this was an 360 exclusive what would you say about MAG? Be honest please.
@ RobertCarr316: Yeah sure mate, my PSN is oldschool1987.
November 30th, 2009
“When did you get your MW2?”
2 days before the game came out
(and the best part of it was that it only cost me $30)
November 30th, 2009
@ Cad: So if this was an 360 exclusive what would you say about MAG? Be honest please.
First the 360 has nothing to prove so it would not be hailed as the most epic game of all times. It would be just another shooter amongst the rest. Second, at least everyone will have a Mic. Third sure I’ll try it but experience tell me that anything this overblown will never get any kind of co-operation from the rest of the other 127 Players on my team. Good Luck with MAG.
November 30th, 2009
You should really talk to your cousin more about the game before you critique it so.
You’re broken up into small squads. All you can hear is your squad leader. Like SOCOM you’re lost without a mic so it’s a good reason to either buy one or use your cell phone bluetooth device if you have one.
November 30th, 2009
you can also use the PS Eye or the good old Socom headset (PS2).
I have the PS3 and the PS3 blue tooth headset but I find my self playing without mic most of the time because im usually on the phone, watching TV (I have 2 tvs in my room – 1 for gaming and 1 cable) or using the computer.
and by now most PS3 owner have mics, I noticed this while playing MW2. back when MW1 came out you will only see 2 or 3 ppl using a mic…now in MW2 you see everybody using a mic (execpt me).
November 30th, 2009
@ CAD: Spoken like a true fanboy. You do realize that the PS3 has the most highest rated exclusives don’t you? So it’s the PS3 that has nothing to prove at all. The 360 now does. Sure the 360 sells a lot more due to many reasons:
-Cheaper
-Out longer
-Halo
-DLC Exclusivity
-Insane Fanboys not betraying their system lol
Say what you want about MAG but it will more than likely be better than any of your other online games. You’d say exactly the same if it was 360 only, bullshit if you say otherwise.
And before you say it, if it was 360 exclusive I would say exactly the same about it, I’m not a fanboy. I have a console of choice obviously but I also have both consoles that get near enough equal playing time.
November 30th, 2009
“and by now most PS3 owner have mics, I noticed this while playing MW2. back when MW1 came out you will only see 2 or 3 ppl using a mic…now in MW2 you see everybody using a mic (execpt me).”
I hate the jerkoffs that believe anyone cares to hear their garbage music in the background.
Thank you mute.
November 30th, 2009
@CAD
128v128 does not mean you are competing with 127 people on the mic. The teams are broken up into squads, and the squads have their own leaders and objectives. The leaders of the squads communicate with eachother. To be a leader, you have to qualify (levels and skills). It actually works very well even in the beta. Go spew your tripe elsewhere, please.
November 30th, 2009
LOL @CAD
How pathetic!
November 30th, 2009
But what about the MSRP???
November 30th, 2009
Sorry, forgot to refresh. The above is @Roca, “the best part of it was that it only cost me $30)”
November 30th, 2009
what about it…it’s $60 last time I checked? did the MSRP change?
I bought a copy that broke release day (from a guy – not from a retail store). you have no argument. sorry
November 30th, 2009
OK so your broken into smaller teams. So you team does whatever it has to do then What?
November 30th, 2009
so in MW2, it splits everybody into 2 teams. so your team kill everybody or planted the bomb, then what?
November 30th, 2009
hehehe Roca
I have to say I didn’t enjoy what I played of MAG. I’m more of a Battlefield guy
(BFBC2 FTW!)
November 30th, 2009
CAD – “256 Players but trust me it is no different then any shooter out there. All it is, is even more idiots running around shooting each other with no co-operation, probably half with no mics and just one big battle field of crazyness. Trust me overhyped Bullshit.”
Agreed. With the vast majority of ps3 online gamers NOT using voice communication, it makes strategy impossible.
From what I’ve seen it’s like a bunch of Non Player Controlled (NPC) characters running around the screen, only dumber and in silence.
Of course this is a fine example of the “tacked on” remark of ps3 games. MS is the only console maker that requires all 360 games to be xbox live enabled.
I don’t think sony ever made this a requirement of their developer.
This is how and why Xbox live is so much better. The 360 offers a gaming service, whereas sony only offers the capability to game online.
Two cans and a string offer the capability of a telephone but I’ll still take my Blackberry and happily pay for the superior service.
Same concept here, only the ps3 fanboys will scream and swear they don’t see the reality of it.
They are a funny, and sad, bunch…lmao…
November 30th, 2009
and then they bitch about ppl talking crap about a game that they havent even play…if fact the game is not even out yet. xbots are getting more pathetic with each passing day

Toshi: “Yakuza 3 (J-RPG, US/UK release not announced)”
Yakuza 3 coming in March (hear that Toshi, I was right after all)
then you wonder why I keep saying you never know what you are talking about. since when Yakuza 3 is a J-RPG?? you got cought making shit up again
November 30th, 2009
Erm…. Toshi hasn’t put any posts in this thread….

November 30th, 2009
wow, that thread has disappeared and you’re still thinking about it? Sad.
I recall you having a go at me for digging up old threads where you contradicted yourself, and now you’re trying to do the same thing to Toshi.
Again, consistency is not your strong point….
November 30th, 2009
@roca
First of all, i know what i am talking abt.. ok
the game has been announced yesterday, while we were discussing it last week, so at that time it was still not announced, so i was right at that time..
As for yakuza 3, i did not make shit up ?? it was mistake, i mixed it up with the other japanese games listed there..
“Yakuza3 coming in March (hear that Toshi, I was right after all)”
U never stated its release date, so howcome u are right ??
U said its exclusive to ps3, i never doubted that, all i did was stating that the release date hasn’t been announced, and i was right afterall..
“ten you wonder why I keep saying you never know what you are talking about. since when Yakuza 3 is a J-RPG?? you got cought making shit up again”
Again ?? when was the last time u caught me making shit up ?? prove me and puhleez i m not kid like u who ll call a simple mistake of writing the wrong genre as “making shit up”
What did i made up there, stating an adventure game as j-rpg, i mean, i can admit i made a mistake there, but to say i “making shit up” is a big thing though, it was not like i was bad mouthing yakuza 3 or claimed to have played it.. it was a simple mistake just like u thot Mass Effect was released in 2008 and is a “milking franchise” remember

Yeah and we were all supposed to be seething that he got it 2 days early too.
December 1st, 2009
Im not going to the argue MSRP prices. try twisting all you want. MSRP for COD is $60. and MSRP price wont change no matter if you can find at a cheaper price. Im actually surprise that you have gone as far as to argue that just to defend MS overpriced products.
December 1st, 2009
happy keep hating
CarlB and BJ know I got the game 2 day before its street date
December 1st, 2009
“Im actually surprise that you have gone as far as to argue that just to defend MS overpriced products.”
There is no defending the overpriced hard drives roca, I thought I already told you that? I was defending the overpriced SNY products, like the keypad @$49.99. They’ve got these babies on sale at Amazon now for $43.96…
December 1st, 2009
I paid $24 for my official Sony BT controller add-on keypad. I could have gotten it for free bundled with Batman AA at EBgames last summer, but wasn’t available with trade ins, just straight purchase. I was trading in, so I had to opt out. I got a new DS3 for 30 the same day (third one, first one worn out after 3 years, friends don’t let friends play with a sixaxis). These are not normal prices, but sales on sony stuff is common and cheap around these parts. MSRPs are for suckers who go to best buy or walmart for all of their component needs.
If I owned a 360 and was shopping for peripherals, I might be able to tell you what its like for those here as well, but I don’t, so i can’t.
December 1st, 2009
“I cought your lied which is different”
Ok, so yakuza 3 is an adventure game, big lie really (bigger lie than ppl claiming their friends machine was not replaced by MS coz he lost their bill
)
December 1st, 2009
try harder
December 1st, 2009
I just skipped Kevs comment altogether. It’s a page about a PS3 game and people are also on about MAG so I can already guess what he wrote.

Roca
Actually it was your delusion.
You’re the one who said that I had to be all bothered that you got the game early (tho at that stage you didn’t happen to mention you were talking about a whole 2 days).
Your insanity, your “hate”, in fact.
You’re just projecting your own sad attitudes.
Again.
December 1st, 2009
HH,
WTF are you talking about? you asked when did I get the game? what does that matter so much to you? seems like you were bothered some how.
December 1st, 2009
I’m done with you.
I hope you keep up with some gaming news before post another laughable comment. and dont make and excuse next time it makes you look more pathetic.
I would try harder but your not worth it, I will be baisically wasting my time with a ignorant that doesnt know what he is talking about (PS3 is DEAD?? lol, RPG/JRPG?? lol, Yakuza not coming to NA lol, adventure game = JRPG?? lol)
December 1st, 2009
I’m not really sure what they’re trying to prove. Roca definitely has the game as he was playing it yesterday.
I checked out his trophy list also which unfortunately isn’t the best indication as the trophy support was screwed for a day or two post launch. I for one played through more than half the game before getting trophies.
December 1st, 2009
“Does it end in ‘…lmao’ at all?”
Of course.
But he did make a half decent point about lack of voice chat on PSN. Playing games such as MAG without voicechat is kinda sucky. Like I said, I play the BFBC2 beta, and barely anyone has a headset.
And when they do all I hear is some fuckers TV, mom, and breathing. When the fuck is someone going to create a controller with a ‘push-to-talk’ button, ffs.
December 1st, 2009
phranctoast
It’s not hard to follow.
The tw@t tried to tell me, a while back, that he got MW2 early and that it must be something that really bugged me.
As per I could actually care less
(I do have things a little more interesting than a game release – even an MW2 release – going on in my own life thanks)
but yet again his own attitudes & delusional invention simply gives away the pathetic & infantile ‘thinking’ he indulges in.
Just out of interest I asked when he got his MW2, he said 2 day early.
Cooo, eh?
So, for a whole 2 days
(when nobody else had it, no wonder he said nothing about the multi-player side of the game to begin with)
he had the game early but couldn’t use the best part of it.
……and he thinks that impresses people and causes incalculable jealousy in others.
Jebus H.
The guy needs help.
December 1st, 2009
“when nobody else had it, no wonder he said nothing about the multi-player side of the game to begin with”
hahaha. because I was too busy play Uncharted 2 and Demon’s Souls you dick, I have said many times that I care little for MW2 I didnt have the urge to play it (SP or MP mode) 2 days before it releases as there were more PS3 games to keep me busy and away from it…I just started playing MW2 SP mode last week for the first time since I beat Demon’s Souls and GoW1. I bough R+C day 1 and it’s still unwrapped. I also bought Dragon age and AC2 and I havent played either.
good luck next time.
December 1st, 2009
“he had the game early but couldn’t use the best part of it”
there were alot of ppl playing the game a week before it releases without being expose to get banned from the network
i dont think you are aware that the broke street date a week early in some states here in the US. and they were all playing online a week ealier
again…good luck next time
December 1st, 2009
roca
The phrase is ‘better luck next time’ you unintelligble moron.
The point (which once again when over your head by several thousand feet) was you were originally crowing about having the game early.
2 days.
Hilarious.
Wooo.
December 1st, 2009
wtf are you talking about…are you retarded or something?
HH: “Roca
When did you get your MW2?”
you fucking asked me when did I get MW2..and I said 2 days ealier before release day. I wast even say anything about when I got the game until you asked fool.
nice try though….you just prove to be a real idiot.
better luck with your other login – Kev

Yeah, I know what I posted.
Just because you have the attention span of (an inordinately stupid fish) that you forget what you posted on other different days.
Meanwhile some of us grown-ups have a functioning normal memory.
You posted this cr@p (projecting your typical hateful sh!te & insane mentality for all to see) on 9th Nov -
“Have you play CoD:MW2 yet? I have (that must be killing you inside)”
about 1/3rd the way down here –

BTW ask Mike or Dave to check out the ip addys for kev & me.
Unless kev is living in the same part of the UK they will be completely out of range compared to each other
(so, no logging in under one name at one office PC and logging in one another at another = 2 different ip addys but in the same range…..oh, imagine if we started getting a look at how close the ip addys of certain log-ins were to others, eh guys?)
December 1st, 2009
that was ages ago (11/09/2009) and you broght it up again.
but I guessed it did killed you know that I got the game earlier that you have to actually bring that up 20 days laters.
Get a life and stick with just one logins.

ps3 is dead – I never said that so fail,
rpg/jrpg – There is indeed a difference between them, whether u like it or not so fail (again)
Yakuza not coming to US – i never said that, all i said was “release date for EU/US has not been announced and it still isn’t, so fail (again)
adventure game = JRPG – again i never said that, all i said was that i confused it for all those JRPG’s games u listed there, so EPIC fail (AGAIN)

last time I check FFXIII was under the genre RPG, same goes for Demon’s Souls, Tales of Visperia, White Knight Chronicles and every single Japanese developed RPG game
get ur facts straight….
you failed with Yakuza also because I never categorize Yakuza as a RPG game like I did with the other….but you came out the cut to put JRPG right next to Yakuza…but of course u barely know what ur talking about. take care hommie

Roca
“that was ages ago (11/09/2009)”
To an inordinately stupid fish brain.
Your problem.
“and you broght it up again”
It was totally relevant to your comments, so of course.
You’ll find that the grown-ups with a normal brain have a habit of doing that.
If you throw out endless hostages to fortune and yet are so arogant as to imagine nobody notices your laughably idiotic arrogance then you’ll often end up living on a diet of your own ridiculous words and comments.
Eat up (fan)boy, enjoy.
“but I guessed it did killed you know that I got the game earlier that you have to actually bring that up 20 days laters”
Nope, wrong again, moron.
I’m laughing at you.
You are a ludicrous figure of amusement.
You are so utterly transperant that one cannot help but watch and laugh at your idiocy.
Did mummy always did nurture your conceit?
Yes pet, they’re all jealous of you.
Ha ha ha ha.
“stick with just one logins.”
Oh my.
That Ivan/Roca thing really is a little too close to home, huh?
You know a liar always ends up giving themselves away sooner or later.
They just can’t help throwing their own accusations of the deception(s) they engage in.
Conceit again.
You really are too stupid & way too easy.
You gormless sad sack shill troll.

They are infinite reasons why i still keep buying PLAYSTATION 3. Maybe this reason looks better for Xbox 360. Since people mostly do buy it for the cheap online knock off.
December 2nd, 2009
Well you’d know all about that Ivan.
Typical how you delude yourself that everyone else is probably a scummy thief like you.
December 2nd, 2009
why dont you try to make sense…then you can start your argument..but what can i expect from an “air can” of your kind….right Kev? errr i mean HH?
in the end you asked for it and you brought it up. so it must have been bothering you inside to come and bring some old shit weeks laters.
have fun I’ll see you around noon (EST) when you login as Kev and start rating about Xbox stuff

Toshi
Seeing as how everyone knows Roca is Ivan
(he just uses a different PC in the same work-place between sweeping up, making the coffee for everyone and delivering the mail)
it’s funny watching him attempt his feeble baiting.
Couple that with slapping him about the head with his own laughably stupid bleatings and we have a constant figure-of-fun.

@Happy.
“roca
The phrase is ‘better luck next time’ you unintelligble moron.”
“phranctoast
It’s not hard to follow.
The tw@t tried to tell me, a while back, that he got MW2 early and that it must be something that really bugged me.
As per I could actually care less”
The phrase is I couldn’t care less btw.
December 2nd, 2009
“The phrase is I couldn’t care less btw.”
haha I remember him bitching about it long time ago.
HH: “Seeing as how everyone knows Roca is Ivan”

phranctoast
Actually the ‘care less’ phrase is used both ways.
December 2nd, 2009
“Actually the ‘care less’ phrase is used both ways.”
Only when it’s used incorrectly.
Read the graph
People say it like you do all the time. They are also wrong.
The expression is
I could not care less
Or I couldn’t care less
People say “I could care less” because it flows off the tongue easier. It does not make it correct.
December 2nd, 2009
Balls phranc.
It’s a long-standing colloquial expression, however it might once have been there are now no formal grammar rules to it and it can be & is used either way.
Just as is the way with all colloquial expressions.
People have been crying about that one for many years but unfortunately for them our language is a dynamic and evolving thing and it absolutely is not set in stone.
FFS you could pick an argument in a room alone.
December 2nd, 2009
Your way def flows better it just doesn’t make sense in the context the expression was meant to imply.
Techinically if you could care less you may care a lot, but you are capable of caring less than that
“FFS you could pick an argument in a room alone.”
Me an carlb seem to have that covered.

@Happy
Ya i have heard alot about gamestop employees misusing “exclusive codes”, and i have seen him giving codes here on blorge
j/k

“FFS you could pick an argument in a room alone.”
HH I remember you arguing about that same shit long time ago (I was the one who used that expression in the wrong way back then)
but now it’s ok because it come from you??
Phranc, dont bother…remember how he defended himself in the tech/better visual arguement? he is full of air.
