Nolan North talks Uncharted 3 & Uncharted movie casting
Nolan North is the actor and voice actor that has been in so many video games that the list of titles takes up around a third of his Wikipedia entry. He’s best known for his roles in Assassin’s Creed (Desmond Miles), Prince Of Persia (The Prince), and Uncharted (Nathan Drake). And he recently spoke about his hopes for Uncharted 3 and the Uncharted movie that’s currently in development.
According to CVG, he spoke to Official PlayStation Magazine about both topics. North first spelled out his belief that a third game in the Uncharted series in inevitable. He then spoke about the possibility of him playing the part of Nathan Drake in the Uncharted movie. He doesn’t think there’s any chance of that happening.
Well I know we’re going to be assured a third one. That would just be financially irresponsible, not to do a third one.
Somebody like [Hugh] Jackman is the guy I would like to see. I think the producers really would like to see Jackman, because he has that tough guy exterior but there’s a lot going on behind his eyes.
I also think Uncharted 3 is guaranteed to happen, and the Naughty Dog team has indicated its desire to see it happen. So I guess it’s all up to Sony at this point. As for the Uncharted movie, I’d personally like to see Nolan North get the role. It’ll never happen, of course, because movie bosses will want a big name in the role, but no one knows the character like North and I think he’d do a fantastic job.

It’ll be a wait for Uncharted 3, but I’m already curious. The words “Uncharted 3″ seem rough coming out of my mouth… it just seems too good to be true.
I want them to patch and add on to Uncharted 2 until it reaches it’s full multiplayer/co-op potential, but it’s great to hear that Uncharted 3 is going to come. I just don’t want to see the series go downhill. This seems like a series fit for a trilogy of top-notch games, and no more.

Ahhhh Uncharted 3, I hope the game can live up to the standards of Uncharted 2. I still don’t understand how no one discovered Shambala before Drake! It’s a huge city and not a single plane or helicopter seen it before until Drake moved some stairs? lol. Everything else is perfect tho :p

This is a great game. If they do a movie based on the game,I hope it does the game justice. Most movies based on video games have not been very good at all.

Jackman is in his 60s. Even though the man has adamentium nipples, he’s getting too old.
I think Nolan could pull it off. He does look a little bit like Drake.

There’s no way that the movie could ever live up to the game. I would expect it to be better than most movie games, but I have a bad feeling about it. They do have good characters and pretty nice plot to work with, but I don’t see it happening.
I suppose that comic book movies always end up being awesome, even some movies based off toys (the first Transformers was pretty awesome). Game movies on the other hand… well, they are down the shitter. But the game industry is growing larger and larger. It will only be so long until a GOOD, well known director goes out and changes things. For now, video game movies will be video game movies…

@saber
Ya I was kinda pissed when I found out peter Jackson was not doing the halo movie cause that would of been the movie that changed directors and viewers opinions of video game movies and remember on thing comic movies sucked balls before they got good it’s just a matter of time for video game movies get good

Comic book movies have been up and down:
Remember Superman 1?
Remember Superman 2?
Remember the first Batman?
Remember Catwoman with halle Berry?
Remember the last few pre-christian bale batmans?
Remember Daredevil (ben affleck)?
Remember the X-men trilogy?
Video Game movies history has not been blessed with anywear near the same success rate as comic book movies pre-frank-miller. (Even the spirit is an example of a modern comic2movie transition that SUCKED ASS)
The only really cool “Video Game” movies so far have been those that were about video games, and not based on one like The Last Starfighter, Tron, Wizard, Brainscan, the lawnmover man (Kind Of).
So I am not holding my breath for Uncharted movie to be a great success, I just hope it sucks less than the ones that have come before it, and doesn’t harm the legacy the games are building.

Who’s going to play master chief, Dwayne Johnson or Vin Deisel? Lol. Sorry, from my experience with the Halo storyline, it is nothing more than your standard super-alpha-male success story against all odds. This cannot translate faithfully AND with any amount of quality. Hollywood has been done with those type of stories since the Rambo haydays. I would rather see Peta Wilson in a heavenly sword than a faithful halo movie with, well, anyone.

@jofa
One thing the halo movie has over certain video game movies is they don’t have to show you master chiefs face they can just get the guy who does master chiefs voice to do a voice over and a heavenly sword move would be pretty epic

I laughed all the way through House Of The Dead…. not sure if I was supposed to or not.

Silly of me to forget Mortal Kombat lol, that ilm is great! But then they took the piss and released number 2 which is probably one of the worst films ever… after Jason X lol.
@ Harry: Not seen HOTD, didn’t even know it was out lol. Anyone in it? I hear Alone in the Dark is meant to be the worst game to film.
Wanna see a Doom 2, Silent Hill 2 and Resident Evil: Afterlife
(Hmmmmmmm Milla Jovovich lol)
November 29th, 2009
I liked Silent Hill. I thought they actually did a decent job with it.
Resident Evil on the other hand… not so much. And I do really really really like Milla.
X-men movies were pretty awful, but Wolverine was pretty good.
joel schumacher is a -expletive deleted-!
Uncharted modeled pretty closely after movies like Indiana Jones or The Mummy, so I think it would work as a movie.

Oldie,
There’s a hot chick who can use a sword, and a dude who looks like a cross between Paul Hogan and Popeye, but that’s about it.
There’s an Alone In The Dark movie??
November 29th, 2009
Actually the sequel to the Alone in The Dar movie is coming straight to DVD very soon.
November 30th, 2009
@ Harry: Yeah it has Christian Slater and Tara Reid, I think it’s the worst rated movie of all time… after Gigli lol.
November 30th, 2009
It was bad but I’ve seen worse. Try and watch Peter Jacksons Bad Taste. I dare you
November 30th, 2009
The only good thing about House of the Dead were all the titties. Other than that, Like most other Uwe Boll films they progressively get worse (if that’s possible..Maybe I should say digressively get worse?)Than the one before it.
Bloodrayne
Alone in the Dark
House of the Dead
in the name of the king: A dungeon siege tale
The only movie from his that I remotely enjoyed was Postal. It had it’s moments.

But don’t you hate Uwe Boll.
He makes crap, gets paid to make crap, and then makes more crap, and everyone knows he makes crap.
There is no justice in the world I tell ye!!!oneone
November 30th, 2009
There’s something about Postal that just cracked me up. Maybe he should stick to comedy’s
