Speed Zone branded worst Wii game ever
I’ve seen some truly awful games released on the Nintendo Wii over the past few years. The console, its success, and its proportion of casual gamers has led many developers and publishers to throw out shoddy games that wouldn’t even be considered on the PS3 and Xbox 360. So to grab the title of Worst Wii Game Ever must be extra-special. Step forward Speed Zone.
Speed Zone, or Wheelspin as it’s known in Europe, is a game which promised much when it was announced. Unfortunately, according to its review in the Official Nintendo Magazine, those early soundbites were hollow. The handling makes it almost unplayable, the graphics are sub-par even for the Wii, the game physics leave a lot to be desired and it’s generally a very poor game.
I know there are bad games released on every system but the Wii does seem to have more than its fair share. The problem is that publishers see an opportunity to make a fast buck by throwing out any old crap in the hope that some poor saps will buy it regardless of quality. And Speed Zone appears to be the king of shovelware.
At least it’s not as bad as Big Rigs: Over The Road Racing on the PC, considered by many to be the worst game of all time. It did, however, spawn my favorite video game review of all time.

As for the article? Game looks about as bad as something on a knock-off console. A while ago some of my cousins bought a Wii knock-off (a little ball with games installed, $30 a waste of money), worse graphics than the NES, and the first one didn’t even work. Yes, they got another. Anyways as bad as the Wii is, I think that bad games should just stay off consoles. It’s what Sony should have done with Lair (which has better controls now) and Haze. Take it back and fix it.

We all throw mud at eachother. But the xbots never stop. At least team PS3 takes time out from the flamewars to actually discuss games (not counting Ivan, all he does is bullshit). When was the last time some xbox fans actually took time from slaggin off the PS3 to talk about the games they are playing? Kev and FM3 are the only example, and I have to grudgingly give him credit.
My point isn’t to create a utopian gaming forum, but to point out how ridiculous (and another round in the witchhunt) for xbots to claim that team PS3 is ruining their ability to talk about games, or derailing threads, or any of those other stupid claims: THEY DO NOTHING BUT WHAT THEY ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT.
As I see it, there seems to be a dirth of actual 360 pride, so in its place they just disrupt what team PS3 has going on in any way they can, since there is no substance to actually be proud of. FM3 is an arcade racer, ODST was a ripoff for any established Halo player, and the rest of the titles are Multi-plat. I am not gonna create an ivanesque list, but team PS3 is plagued by no such problems.

BUT, if you were to list the Xbots and PSbots, take out the absolute worst of them for each side (Ivan/Kev) and look at the posting history, sure, both sides take part readily in the mudslinging. If you look past the mudslinging, The list of Pbots actually talk about games and the industry. The Xbots do not. They spend their entire time on this site slinging barbs and talking shit. This is not an indictment of all 360 owners, just the ones that come to this site.
I have already explained why I think this is so previously, but it is undeniable that in the lull of actual 360 gaming news, or games, team Xbot has taken it upon themselves to disrupt every conversation about games with their trolling.

We have forums now to discuss games if that is what you wish to do. It is annoying to be in a thread topic about a 360 game discussing and then have 5 people go back and forth about their levels in Demon’s Souls or God of War Collection trophies, etc. I would suggest using the forum for such things, but that is just me.
I don’t mind the occasional comment or response, but when it dominates the thread and there is another topic (or forum in this case) that is more appropriate, it seems like just another form of trolling by Pbots when they are not advertising, or list warring (“i can make a bigger list than you”), or saying things that just are not true or are completely outdated (“360 netflix doesn’t play Sony movies”), etc.

I was talking about Dragon Age Origins not that long ago (although I’m also a PS3 “fan”). I’ve heard several 360 users talk about Modern Warfare 2, Left 4 Dead 1&2, Alan Wake, Mass Effect 1&2, Gears of War 1&2, Splinter Cell Conviction, Forza, Brutal Legend, Dead Rising 1&2, Fable 1-3, etc. but not to the point of dominating the topic unless it was related.

You were doing so well Jofa and being rather reasonable until that… FM3 doesn’t seem to be doing too bad considering it still rates 92 (isn’t Wipeout Fury HD more of an “arcade racer”, what is wrong with that?) “Universal Acclaim” on Metacritic, higher than KZ2, Batman AA, or Demon’s Souls for PS3. L4D2, the latest GTAIV DLC, Shadow Complex, etc. also seem to be doing very well in reviews and the 360 has had 85 games released this year rated 75 or above (“generally favorable” reviews) on Metacritic (PS3 has 78) so the 360 is “plagued by no such problems.”

In other words, when it has nothing to do with the topic or discussion that is already going on and it is extended and dominating the thread, it is annoying.
Does Kev or Happy usually make very specific points that have at least something to do with the topic or the discussion that is already happening within the thread? I believe so. If not then I am sure they are just as at fault as Ivan or you have been in the past.
And yes, I have had discussions with Happy and Kev as well in the past as I have had with you recently when communicating for the reason/games/features “team”, not the console/exclusive/superiority team.

Now, pulling up metacritic to obfuscate the topic of NEW games is not really relevant, and unnecassary. My jab at FM3 was admittedly trollish, but at least I admit to taking those shots now and then and not a holier-than-thou-defending-my-consoles-virginity attitude.
You can’t deny that there has been a serious shortage in exclusive titles for the 360, compared to the PS3, when in the past exclusivity has been the feather in an Xbots hat, thrown in the PS3 teams face at every opportunity, even if false. Multi-plats don’t count in my books, because we all get them. Conversations on Multi-plats like MW2 usually denegrate to the Xbots claiming that IWs decisions are only a problem for PS3, or trivial graphical differences in other titles. Bayonetta suffers on PS3 in japan, and the Xbots are all over it. DA: O does a little better on the PS3 in NA… do you hear any references to that being thrown in Xbots faces? No. There is Definitely a cultural difference between the teams that visit this site.
So I stand by my statement that the 360 is lacking new content to brag about, and to compensate, those with E-gos tied directly to their consoles have taken other measures to make themselves feel superior. IE: Witchhunts. HH just made yet ANOTHER reference to a humorous comment Roca made months ago, but putting it up as proof of, well, something or another damning in his eyes. This is normal discussion/debate behaviour to you, Carl?

Jofa, I defined “new” as those games that were released this year… is this not “new” enough? In any given quarter(s) one console will have more than the other, I just think one year is fair enough for the discussion at hand.
Again, I really don’t care if a game is “exclusive” or multiplatform, I just care about the game and how it plays. By this standard, or the exclusive standard, the 360 has had no shortage for this year, and will not for next. Is the holiday season slow in comparison? If you isolate exclusives alone, sure. If not, no way. In other words, no shortage of great games to play on either console.

They count in mine, so I guess we differ on this. If there is a wealth of outstanding multiplatform titles being released, that means more great games to play, and there is even less need to separate the few exclusives that are being released.
