Borderlands sequel to be ‘Borderworlds’?
Borderlands is one of those strange games that wasn’t really hugely anticipated but fostered very positive reviews and is selling by the bucketload. And any game which manages both those feats is bound to warrant a sequel. And that sequel seems more than likely to happen at this point and could even have a ready-made name in Borderworlds.
Borderlands is a role-playing shooter that is original in some ways but also very recognizable to those of us who have been playing video games for a number of years. But that may just be what has made it a winner. So expect more of the same from a sequel that now looks guaranteed.
Last month, Gearbox Software boss Mike Neumann called Borderlands 2 a “no-brainer.” While in a more recent earnings call, company chairman Strauss Zelnick said Borderlands was “showing every sign of becoming an important, long-term franchise.†And now, Superannuation has tweeted that the company trademarked the name Borderworlds at the same time as Borderlands.
That doesn’t prove a sequel is in the works or that it will eventually be named Borderworlds, but I’d stake some money on that being the case. The first game has done well enough to warrant a sequel and the name Borderworlds would imply a bigger, better game than the first. Which is surely the aim of any sequel.

I enjoyed Borderlands, but there was something lacking imo.
I think there needed to be a greater rang on weapons. Sure the stats were randomly generated, but a shotgun is still a shotgun even if it has 8 shells instead of 6 (sure when it fires rockets that’s a bit different
)… Point is, they needed more types.
The ending blew, and there were not enough alien weapons, and those that you got always seemed to be crap.
I would still probably but a sequel just because the co-op was plenty of fun.

I haven’t had a chance to try it out yet. I’ll get to it at some point. Seems like it might be pretty good.
