Next Silent Hill game available only on Wii, PS2 and PSP
If you’re a fan of the Silent Hill franchise and you only own next gen consoles, then you might be in for a disappointment. Since Silent Hill Shattered Memories was developed with the Wii in mind; there is no PS3 or Xbox 360 version to play.
Silent Hill: Shattered Memories has been getting generally positive reviews with Destructoid giving it a 9.5/10 and both IGN as well as Gametraillers gave it 8.6/8.5 out of 10. However, those without a Wii may be a bit peeved at the fact that Konami has yet to deliver a satisfying Silent Hill experience for the PS3 and Xbox 360.
However, one good news is that Shattered Memories will also be available on the PS2 and PSP, increasing the user audience significantly with 150 million PS2s out there. Also, those with a 60GB PS3 will be able to still play Shattered Memories with upscaled resolution and smoothing. If you don’t have a BC PS3, then it may be time to break out your old PS2 from the attic. Silent Hill Shattered Memories will be out on the PS2 and PSP January 12, 2010.

And this is exactly why Silent Hill has not turned into the awsome series that it could have been.

I never played a Silent Hill game, but I don’t think that their heading the right direction. They are putting a (supposedly great) horror series onto the Wii? PS2 and PSP might get an audience, but come on now, start moving to where it’ll sell.

If this game does well I’m sure they will release a HD version once motion/pointer controls come out for the other two consoles.
By the way Mike, the wii may not be HD but is a next generation console. If not why are the other two tripping over themselves to emulate the wii’s next gen. controls?

I loved Silent Hill 1 on the PS1. I really hope the make a PS3 version Silent Hill Shattered Memories

Wii is not current gen. It is a white gamecube with motion controls. No matter how well it sells, it is as comparable to the PS3/360 as a DSi is.

Well the Wii has got RE4, House of the Dead 2 and 3, Dead Rising, Dead Space Extraction, hell I think the Wii is also getting the new Fatal Frame game? And since Wii has BC you can play Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem on it also. I am assuming they have a market there or they wouldn’t be putting these games on the Wii? But I think SH should be released on the PS3/360 also.

Along with House of the Dead Overkill, RE Umbrella Chronicles and RE Dark Side Chronicles.
It’s not really surprising this one is going to the Wii.

I never played a Wii based horror game. I never really got any game time period on a Wii. But from what I’ve seen mostly on websites the horror based stuff looks kinda fun and graphics don’t look to bad either. Of course it’s the game trailers they are showing tho. Does anyone here have a Wii and have a RE game or type game for it? And is it fun to play with the toy gun in your hand instead of a controller? Or is it awkward and cheap feeling? Are the graphics pretty good or what????

Aren’t they making a Fatal Frame for Wii? Man that series is awsome. I own 2 of the 3 games and they are really good.

I’ve got RE4 and House of the Dead.
House of the Dead Overkill is an on rails shooter so the controller works well. The graphics are some of the best for a Wii game (not close to 360 or PS3 though).
I’m playing RE4 at the moment. The controls work well in that also. The graphics are more like PS2 level but it’s got great atmosphere.

silent hill is a great game but ofcourse they only made it for the wii, ps2 and psp. Imagine that the only company that can’t compare to the Micrososft Corporation is the company that has two system with the game.
