Modern Warfare 2 is politically incorrect
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is one of the biggest first person shooters of this year. One of the reasons as to why the game is so popular is due to the care Infinity Ward puts in to making the games as accurate as possible from the settings, scenarios and weapons. However, it seems like this may not completely be the case for Modern Warfare 2.
According to Kotaku, a Pakastani reader emailed the site to indicate that he was thrilled to see his home city, Karachi making it into COD: MW2 as one of the multiplayer maps. However, as he played he found a major flaw in the recreation of his hometown city. Apparently Infinity Ward used the wrong language throughout the entire map.
According to the reader, the map had Arabic written all over it despite the fact it isn’t the country’s language. Apparently, the official language of Pakastani is Urdu. He stated, “Infinity Ward probably thought, ‘Oh hey its a Muslim country so Arabic is the language.’†If this is indeed true it looks like Infinity Ward may have a bit of egg on its face.

I could be wrong and I don’t give two shit’s about MW2 but don’t they mostly speak and understand Arabic in Pakastan?? Like I said I could be wrong. I don’t see where it would be a big deal UNLESS for ex. they did America/England/UK and instead of english they used spanish just because alot of people speak it. If it is something like that then I guess I could see where this guy is coming from.

@ghost
yes, a lot of them understand Arabic due to religIous reasons. Urdu looks like Arabic as well and uses many of the same letters. Arabic is my native language and I can read Urdu because of that, but I won’t understand much.
Think they just used Arabic because it is easier to put in there as well as looking similar.
And lol phranc. <.<

Well, as long as there’s plenty of tongue rolling, high notes, and fast nasal passages, I’ll far for it as a middle-eastern language.
HOWEVER, it would be pretty hilarious to play a japanese game based in America where everyone was actually saying random non-related passages like “I were are ovenware timid waffle honey nanomachines Joe”, or not even English at all.
If you are wondering why I used japanese, it’s because they are PROVEN to have the WORST translators in the WORLD. Especially in instruction manuals. I bought some very nice shelves made in Japan and it blew my mind. Also, did you ever play the original Metal Gear?
A few phrases from the NES version of Metal Gear:
“Contact missing our Grey Fox”
“The truck have started to move!”
And last but not least…
“I feel asleep.”
I mean, even Shrek is not impressed >(-_-)<

No, I don’t carry a bomb with me wherever I go…Just a finger of dynamite! (Obviously a bad joke. -_-;)
@ViRuS
Doesn’t seem like that the Pakistani guy was offended. At least not to me. More like correcting/spreading what he found out.

Speaking of Pakistan, I hope they beat the Aussies at the cricket today. The Aussies are getting too cocky.
