Final Fantasy XIII was released last week in Japan and sales have been phenomenal breaking all kinds of records. The initial launch week reports seem to indicate that the game may have come very close to selling out during its first week.
Dead Space is an excellent game that received a well-deserved positive response from gamers. And it has a sequel on the way. Unfortunately, although Dead Space 2 is appearing in people’s wish list for 2010, it looks as though the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC game could be set for a 2011 release.
I am of course referring to Massive Action Game and the “100 percent open PSN beta.” The PS3 exclusive has actually been in beta for some time, but testing was limited to North America and those chosen to participate. But on Jan. 4, the MAG beta goes live for everyone.
The Japanese sales numbers are finally out and it looks like just about all of platforms across the board jumped significantly this past week. It seems like the video game industry is going strong in the land of the rising sun. Take the jump for the numbers.
Looks like Microsoft has an awesome first quarter planned for next year. There will be more Xbox 360 exclusives than gamers will know what to do with. There is also confirmation of the release of two of the most highly anticipated Xbox 360 games within Q1.
Playstation Home is one of those features that differentiates the PS3 from the Xbox 360. Some people love it, some people hate it. But 10 million people have now registered to use it. Not bad going for something that many people thought would die a quick death.
Final Fantasy XIII is the latest in the long-running RPG series from Square Enix. Recently released on PS3 in Japan, it’s due for release on both the PS3 and Xbox 360 in the U.S. and beyond in March. However, despite a near-perfect score from Famitsu, the game seems to be coming in for some harsh criticisms from fans of the series.
During the Spike VGAs a new Halo Reach trailer was shown showing probably the best looking Halo graphics yet. Many sites, including even Gametrailers who assisted in hosting the Spike VGAs doubted the validity of the graphics in the Halo Reach trailer. However, Bungie issued an official response recently explaining the trailer.
Final Fantasy XIII is considered to be the most anticipated RPG to date. Recently Square Enix announced initial first day sales figure for Final Fantasy XIII only a day after its release. According to Square Enix in a press release, the game sold a little over 1 million units in Japan.
