Media Molecule awards Sackies for best LittleBigPlanet level designs
Media Molecule, the brains behind LittleBigPlanet has been awarding some of the best level designers out there. The studio has been combing through hundreds of levels developed by gamers to determine the best of the best.
Its great to see Media Molecule awarding those who have spent countless hours crafting some of the most technical and creative LBP levels.
Some of the categories include:
- Best Visuals and use of Special Effects
- Best LittleBigPlanet Machinima Video
- Best Innovate Creation
- Best use of Audio in a Level
- Outstanding Achievement
- Best fan project of the Year
- Best use of Story in a Level
- Best Gameplay in a Level
There is still one more award to be given out for the “Level of the Year,” which will require fans to cast their votes for the winner. Some of the levels up for nominations are creative such as the “LittleBig Contra” level.

This is an undeniably great game.
People who bash it because it looks “immature” or “childish”, I do believe that you are the childish one (I exclude those who have decent reasons to not want the game, and can still respect it). An insanely high average review score of 9.5, numerous 10/10s, and GOTY awards, and people are still rejecting it. These people show vampire-like traits of apparent pain at the sight of colors and lack of swearing, and retreat to their dark caves known as First-Person Shooters.
I have nothing against Mature games, and nothing against games rated for Everyone. Cue the end of my LBP ramble. I wasn’t on this site in time for the review article.
As for the Sackies? Meh, it’ll show me some more levels to play. I won’t dream to participate: My LBP level-creating skills are futile.

I dunno.. I tried the demo of LBP and I just couldn’t get too into it. It looks like it could be fun but I would probably get bored of it so easily.

LBP is a blast with friends. if dont have online access and dont have a buddy to play it with its going to be boring as hell. (see carlb, I dont think the PS3 is perfect as you make it seem)

I downloaded the demo last night. It was a bit of fun. I don’t think i’ll be buying it though, unless I see it for $10 somewhere.

I personally find the game more fun by yourself. I hate platforming when dealing with other people.
