Gamer perspective: Heavy Rain D-day is 2/23
Heavy Rain is the highly anticipated title from Quantic Dream studio. This is the same studio that brought you Indigo prophecy. The game has been getting quite a bit of attention for its unique and unconventional gameplay style.
In Heavy Rain, Quantic Dream attempts to do something no other studio has done before in a video game. The developers attempt to create a world where every action has consequences leading to hundreds of different paths, ultimately effecting the story.
The game gives you what seems to be an unlimited amount of options and choices that can be made. The developers truly want to immerse you into the world of Heavy Rain allowing you to control the actions of the character. You can play with one of the character’s sons, or choose to ignore him by sitting on the couch. This in turn impacts how the character’s son feels resulting in friction between the characters.
While controlling Madison, one of the female lead characters you can do a strip show, literally taking off the character’s clothes in order to trick a thug or choose to attack him head on.
Heavy Rain seems like a RPG gamers’ ultimate dream come true, where for once you actually take on the role of the character taking on all the emotions and consequences.

I am still not convinced about this game. It’s going to come down between this and Splinter Cell Conviction, as March is going to be a busy month for me with FFXIII and GOW3.

I want this game so bad it looks fantastic i was thinking of changing my MAG order for this but i will get this in April or before hopefully. This game is going to be really good and really addictive. The graphics look amazing the control scheme looks very easy which is perfect and the story is going to be like UNCHARTED a must see. Another exclusive hit on PS3.

I’m still not sold on Heavy Rain yet either. Concept sounds great though.
I’m glad to hear the shaving, showering, tying a tie is all part of the level long tutorial to get you used to the controls.

I haven’t played Indigo Prophecy but I know many ppl who loved the game… the fact that when you die the game continues with another character is an interesting point to. I aslo like how everything is base on real life. i.e – you are cooking dinner late at night, but forgot to locked the front door. then while in bed somebody brake into your house. every little mistake can lead into your death

I guess the biggest issue out there is the crazy outlandish claims have been made in the past (Mostly by CAD) and when one appears, people feel obligated to defend it regardless of the stupidity.
