Gran Turismo 5 “90 percent complete”
I’m starting to wonder if Gran Turismo 5 will ever see the light of day. No, of course it will, Sony has too much riding on the title for it not to. However, Polyphony is starting to take the piss a little. Five years since GT4 and we’re still waiting for the game to leave the pits.
Speaking to USA Today during CES recently, Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi stated:
About 90 percent of the game is done. We are just working on the last 10 percent and polishing up everything.
Still? Seriously? That game should really be in the can by now.
Gran Turismo 4 was released five years ago, which equates to 60 months. So 10 percent should mean about six months more work. Which is obviously why the Japanese release date of March has been missed. And it adds weight to the theory that the game will launch simultaneously in all territories in the summer, once all the big spring releases are out of the way.
At least I hope that’s what it all means. If not then maybe 2011 is more likely. Nah, they wouldn’t, would they?

LOL… every time there is a Forza release there is another “10%” yet to be done.

90% my arse! It’s gotta be AT LEAST 91.5234% complete!

Take your time now, Sony

It’s not like I’m actually expecting to see this game finished in my lifetime anymore…

You can’t rush PERFECTION. Remember Gran Turismo is know in the record book and int he car business and on the gaming industry as the greatest racing simulator in the WORLD. Anyways we got many exclsuive coming up all high profile. Gt is the only racing simulator you see high news companies writing about. Even car companies use it to showcase their new cars. Forza MotorSport competes with Need for Speed Juiced stuff like that arcade not real simulators.
MAG
White Knight Chronicles
Heavy Rain
God of War III
DC Universe Online
Final Fantasy XIII exclusive features.
Free Realms
Saber_HAHAha:
You need a PS3 to play GT5 LoL just letting you know.
Dave Parrack:
The game is coming soon and every other game including other Sony IP better leave alone because they will just get crush. The demand for this game i think is higher then drug.

“real simulators”
I hear they are in high demand on consoles nowadays and gameplay doesn’t matter anymore… lol.

troubling news indeed.
since Kaz stated last year he couldn’t released GT5 as early as December, i’m wondering if:
1. he lied….again..
2. he likes the idea of charging $65 for unfinished game.
either way… just more bad news that most GT fans don’t like.

90% of a GT game is still more than the last 2 Forza games combine.

And it’s still vaporware until it actually releases.

Kev how longs Splinter Cell been in production?

SC and Alan Wake are just as much vaporware.

Roca – actually not but thanks for proving your fanboyism has outpaced your brain. why do you even post about forza 3? you have never been right about anything you’ve ever said about the game, even claiming it has necessary “disk swapping”, which it clearly doesn’t.
really, Kaz has shown nothing in GT5 that Forza 3 hasn’t already done…and better.
NASCAR is a joke since there won’t be the entire field racing at once. Kaz has not confirmed the 2010 Cup drivers will be present. Without the Cup drivers of NASCAR, you basically you have merely stockcar racing, which Forza 3 has.
Rally is funny. I doubt Kaz did his homework on the varying “drag factors” of the dirt, gravel, sand, and ashpalt surfaces to realistically reproduce an accurate tire simulation on rally tracks. I’ve read nothing about GT5 that states he has.
Even Kaz stated Forza 3 has more features than his game. it’s funny you when ps3 fanboys forget…..
the bright side of GT5′s delay is that this gives you ps3 fanboys an “indefinate” amount of time to make promises, hype rumors, and non-gameplay screenshots with no way to prove you wrong until it launches.
oldschool – SC? a while now. the delay will have minimal impact to the 360. after all, you ps3 fanboys have been swearing for a long time that the GT franchise is a system selling exclusive while SC is merely a multiplat because it’s on pc.
hard to sell ps3 systems when you delay the release of the “system sellers”.

lmao you don’t care about the games do you, you just care about sales? ha ha. Either way we’ll see what scores GOW3 get yeah? Not sales that’s for idiotic fanboys like you.

i’m more interested in seeing GT5′s score based on many years and tens of millions of dollars of development.
GT5p didn’t fare too well. Shouldn’t be too hard to surpass GT5p’s score. Altho, it’ll prolly get a 9 just for getting to the market in less than a decade.
Im sure GOW3 will get great scores. it’s a great franchise. just not great enough for me to drop $500 on a ps3, game, communicator, etc….

Well I don’t care about racing games because I’m shit at them and give them a pass but come on it’s bound to get review scores on par… if not better than Forza. I wonder what you will say if it does get higher rated, what idiotic fanboy excuse you will use.
January 25th, 2010
oldschool – “bound to get review scores on par… if not better than Forza.”
the same thing was promised when GT4 launched against the original Forza…
it didn’t happen….
i wonder what you’ll say when GT5 doesn’t score higher than Forza 3. So far, Forza 3 has more features, amazing graphics, higher detail car models, better AI, better physics, better damage, and better online features than what’s been seen in GT5 demos to date.
January 25th, 2010
I’ll admit it beat it in scores. You can’t as your a fanboy.
