Tiger Woods Online open beta arrives
Tiger Woods has had a bad few months, to say the least. However, EA is sticking by him, at least for now, and the latest iteration of the long-running golf game bearing his name is upon us. It isn’t on consoles, instead being online and one of the new breed of free to play, social gaming efforts. And it’s now in open beta, meaning we can all give it a go.
Tiger Woods Online may well be the last PGA Tour golf game which uses the champion golfer’s name and likeness. Not that that will make any difference to the gameplay on offer.
After being available to play in closed beta for several months, Tiger Woods Online has now entered open beta. All that is required to play the game is a Web browser and an Internet connection. There is no download or install required, except for the Unity Web Player.
Players shouldn’t expect too much in the way of graphics, but the rest of the game looks and feels just like the last 10 Tiger games. Once the game is released in full, there’s guaranteed to be some elements stuck behind a pay wall. But still, it’s not too shabby and definitely worth a go.
