Mass Effect 2: PC requirements pretty low
With Mass Effect 2 set to drop in only a few days gamers will need to be prepared for everything. Those getting it on the Xbox 360 will have nothing to worry about as it will play out of the box. However, PC gamers will need to double check their system specs.
I’ll be having a go at the game twice, once on the Xbox 360 and another on the PC to test out my new video card. Why don’t I just play it on the PC you ask? All of my old save files are on the Xbox 360 and also to get the achievements.
Lets take a quick look at the minimum PC requirements to play Mass Effect 2.
OS = Windows XP SP3 / Windows Vista SP1 / Windows 7
Processor = 1.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo or equivalent AMD CPU
Memory = 1 GB RAM for Windows XP / 2 GB RAM for Windows Vista and Windows 7
Hard Drive = 15 GB
DVD ROM = 1x Speed
Sound Card = DirectX 9.0c compatible
Direct X = DirectX 9.0c August 2008 (included)
Input = Keyboard / Mouse
Video Card = 256 MB (with Pixel Shader 3.0 support). Supported Chipsets: NVIDIA GeForce 6800 or greater; ATI Radeon X1600 Pro or greater.Note: GeForce 7300, 8100, 8200, 8300, 8400, and 9300; ATI Radeon HD3200, and HD4350 are below minimum system requirements.
As you can see the requirements are not that high and is actually pretty much exactly the same for Mass Effect 1, which came out over two years ago. I could probably play Mass Effect 2 on my old GeForce 7600GT, which now costs $25, without a hitch. However, with my new GTX 260-216 (which I snagged for a little over a $100), I will be able to play with all settings turned up high.
What about DirectX 11? I’ll believe it when I see the games that really need it.

The GTX260 (216sp) is a pretty kicking card, I can’t imagine you not being able to play on max settings, unless you are hooking it up to single core semperon on something, heh. $100 is a pretty bitchin price, too.

LoL. I’m not here to fight it was i was wipe all my enemies with a single shot. I’m here to give people facts pure factual evidence mainly on PS3 and some Xbox 360. No fanboy here. Mass Effect 2 shows low requirement i hope is bad list hopefully we won’t need twice as that. Most game have a requirement list and the game lags like hell. I bet you need more then this to run the game really good.

I’ll admit when I first came here to Gamerblorge I was an Triple X times one million hardcore fan for PS3. And then I became ANNOYED with Lackluster titles such as Lair, dah dah dah dah dah.
So then I switch over to the 360 for a brief period but then came right back. But in all honesty the PS3 has outclassed microshaft’s xbox 360.
And to the fuck nut who voted for COD6 100 times just so Uncharted 2 wouldn’t win, FUCK YOU!!!!!! Sorry, a little off topic there but I needed to vent some steam.

Neat side story, my EB games dude that always seems to be there when i go in, was telling me about his Demon’s Souls experience (had it since launch, still working on it to this day, heh) and how he found this AWESOME thread for NA demon’s souls infos through google on some backwoods videogame forum called blorge.net. i have every system from nintendo, sega, dreamcast, wii, ps1, ps2, ps3, 360. 360 sucks.. break and red ring to much. ps3 60 gig. got as gift from girl. but my pc is my baby. im playing this game on my pc. running a intel core i7 920cpu on a asus p6t mobo. duel gefore 260(216) sli cards. 6 gig ddr3-2000 pc16000 ram. game plays smoother then any system. max graphics. and if you have a big screen. sony aint the best. Mitsubishi is. i have a 57″ mitsubishi hdtv that i use as a monitor. worth all 2500 is spent on tv. better pic then sonys big screen’s and last alot longer. and ps3 is way better then 360. i also have gameboy and ds for the kids.
