Playstation motion controller is ‘Arc’?
Sony recently announced its entry into the motion-sensing controller market will be launched late in 2010, putting it head-to-head with Natal, expected to launch at the same time. However, it hasn’t yet revealed its name, price, or any real details. It’s now looking likely that the PS3 Wand is to be called ‘Arc’, with SCE buying the domain, PlaystationArc.com, last year.
The ‘Arc’ name was rumored last week, but the source wasn’t strong enough for me. But now things are looking a little different, with Playstation Lifestyle finding the domain name of PlaystationArc.com was registered by none other than Sony last year. It could, of course, be a mere coincidence. But I doubt it. ‘Arc’ is a decent name, although I think the device actually looks more like it should be called PhallicShapedWaggleStick. Which is why I don’t get to name children in my family.
You may not give a crap about the upcoming battle of the motion controllers. And that’s your right. But it’s going to kick off, guaranteed. Like it or not, casual gaming and casual gamers are an increasingly important part of the industry, and the PS3 and Xbox 360 are soon to battle both each other and the Wii in this very field.

What about the games for the new generation Sony?
Since the PS3 have its fair share of ongoing battles on all fronts ever since conception I will forgive Sony for this small oversight that has turned out to be huge problem. PS3 games not addressing the younger market. Yeah majority of PS3 gamers are teens, young adults and adults but what about their kids and nephews?
Is the PS3 too powerful to have basic games?
example: We got the PS3 for shooters but while on the store I stop and considered “what about quality games for the kids from Sony?” And what quality game was there? Little Big Planet. Thats it. Okay.
When I watched them play LBP, its okay but I noticed the colors are dull and it doesnt have the appeal or impact of a Mario or Sonic game that will make you jump for joy. LBP doesn’t cut it Sony hence the sales. We need more lots more.
PS1 & PS2 had their share of games for the new generation that made them more appealing to the masses and made them forget about Mario.
The answer to the Wii is not the wand.
Gamers want to spend their hard earned cash on primarily on fun games. Peripherals should only enhance these games so they are second.
Wasn’t the PS2 successful in motion control gaming with 10 million of Eye Toys long before the Wii.
But was it MARKETED now like the Wiimote or WiiFit Pad?
Hell no coz Sony forgot to. Now is the time!
How about some HD Ape Escape for you to escape the notion that you are “aping the Wii”.
The PS3 needs to be a well balanced and well rounded console with all the bases covered with proper games marketed effectively to their target gamers.
This oversight needs to be addressed immediately Sony.

I think the whole motion thing is a fad and waste of time personally, but what do I know. According to what’s popular, Wii Play is the greatest invention of the last century. I just don’t get it.

I’d take Arc over Natal tbh.
Arc makes me think of electrical arc’ing, whilst natal just makes me think of preggo women.
Both names aren’t great, but when you sit back, sega genesis (or megadrive if you prefer
) playstation, dreamcast etc etc etc, they all sound like bullshit.
