Just when things have started calming down with regards to video game related violence, another incident pops up. A young teenager apparently stabbed his mother, who was trying to stop him from gaming too much.

With God of War III right around the corner Sony is making sure that this third game in the trilogy will end with a bang. However, according to Sony, God of War III will not be the end for the franchise as there are more titles after it.

Mass Effect 2 is definitely the next anticipated title on many gamers’ list. With only one week to go, Bioware has confirmed free DLC for Mass Effect 2 to sweeten the deal.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is said to be the biggest grossing entertainment title to date. That is until the release of Avatar, which knocked it off the top from a revenue perspective.

Xbox 360 Achievements and PS3 Trophies have certainly added another element to gaming this generation. No longer is it just about finishing a game, as doing so without fully exploring or pushing your skills to the limits leave you with little to show for it. However, some are now bypassing all this effort in obtaining kudos by releasing PS3 Trophies hacks. My question is: what is the point?

Heavy Rain is Quantic Dreams’ PS3 exclusive due out at the end of February. It looks to be a truly original and innovative game for the Sony console, with mature themes and supposed real-life experiences pulled together in a film noir-style thriller. Oh, and there’s some sexual content included, which has seen the game slapped with a ‘Mature’ rating in America.

Project Natal has been in the media spotlight since last year and much more so than Sony’s wand controller. One of the big reasons is due to the promise sold by the Milo demo during E3. However, one can’t help wonder if Microsoft may have over-hyped the device before it can truly deliver?

Aaron Greenberg may be one of the most controversial figures of this video game generation, possibly outdoing Peter Moore. Greenberg recently spilled the beans on why he is so controversial when it comes to the console wars between the Xbox 360 and PS3.

It seems like more information about project Natal has been revealed during CES than the whole of last year. With Microsoft announcing that the main processor was taken out recently, the device may have its work cut out.

With 2009 behind everyone, most analysts are busy crunching numbers to assess the state of the video game industry. Just in the U.S. alone, video games accounted for $19.66 billion in revenue for 2009.
