SEGA rebounds with Bayonetta as the icing on the cake
The once mighty publisher SEGA has been spiraling downwards in early 2009 with a huge loss of $254.8 million. However, SEGA has been able to make a remarkable rebound late last year completely reversing its earlier misfortune.
According to Joystiq, SEGA recently reported that SEGA was able to bring in a net income of $189.5 million during Q3 2010, which is the last quarter of 2009. The increase in profit from a loss came about with the release of Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games, which sold a whopping 5.6 million units.
The company ended the year with a nice little bang which included sales for Bayonetta, which topped 1.1 million units in Japan alone during the time period covered. I’m sure with the addition of the overseas sales for Bayonetta SEGA is off to a great start this year.
With games like Resonance of Fate, Aliens vs. Predator, Yakuza 4 and Valkyria Chronicles 2 on the horizon, 2010 looks like it will be a great year for SEGA.

Awesome. If it wasn’t for the dreamcast, I would be able to claim that Sega has always seemed on the Gamer’s side, as opposed to the shareholder’s.
I hope they can bank enough cash to legitimately re-enter the console industry. Maybe not completely independentantly, but imagine if a boosted Wii with HD capability and a dedicated online service for gamers were to be badged a Sega system, to cater to the hardcore nostalgia of those of us in the prime demographic with great memories of Sega’s contributions to our gaming development.

It’s not out of the question, considering how cozy Sega titles and copyrights have gotten with Nintendo first party content.

Sega better not screw Sonic 4 or its game over!

The JPN demo for Resonance of Fate was decent. It certainly was not amazing, but the turn base battle system has its charms.
The graphics were hit or miss and the characters move like they have a poop in their pants. And the way how you get sectioned off when you walk into a new room, felt pretty old school.
Still the battle system was kinda cool.

Bayonetta is a game that I would like to have a sequel to. I enjoyed this game very much.

Bayonetta had a tad too much crotch imo.
I know what you’re thinking, just how can there be ‘too much!?’ … But there was.

I want the death penalty in Canada for sex crimes and murder. I’ll volunteer to stick the needle in every one of them.
February 8th, 2010
Well, I dunno about sticking the needle in myself, but i’m with you on the rest.
I’d also set up a coliseum where gang violence was legal, hook up some video cameras and start up the pay per view…
