Sonic The Hedgehog 4 on PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, and iPhone – But not Dreamcast 2
As you’ve no doubt already heard, Sega has announced Sonic The Hedgehog 4, being released 16 years after the third game. Quick mover is our Sega. The game will be available on the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, and iPhone. But not the Dreamcast 2 as some have reported, mainly because the console does not and will not ever exist.
Project Needlemouse is, as widely predicted, Sonic The Hedgehog 4. The game sees Sonic return to his 2D roots, eschewing the 3D BS which has ruined the iconic character’s reputation over the last decade.
I’m actually pretty excited about this game. I’m a bit of a retro freak on the quiet and this appeals to the big kid in me, even if the game only manages to help me relive my teenage years for a few hours.
Right n Real has reported that Sonic The Hedgehog 4 could signal the arrival of the Dreamcast 2. It doesn’t. Sega is an unlikely to release a new console as I am to enter into a civil partnership with Mike Ferro and have little Blorge babies. And even if they did, does anyone in their right mind really think they’ve revisit the Dreamcast name? I don’t think so somehow.

“and have little Blorge babies”
Goodness, don’t even think about that! There’s MORE than enough as it is…

I’m surprised it too them this long to finally do it. It worked for Megaman and Bionic Commando.
I’m a little skeptical about the episodic releases though. They couldn’t just do Sonic 4 in a single release?
How long are the episodes and how much are they? Also how many episodes are there going to be?

“eschewing the 3D BS which has ruined the iconic character’s reputation over the last decade.”
I agree Dave, nothing’s even come close to the 3D greatness that was Sonic Adventure on Dreamcast (way back in 1999 – over a decade ago).

Hopefully the music is up to par…Sonic 2 and Sonic & Knuckles especially had some of the funkiest tunes ever laid down.

YAY!
It’s like the good Sonic games.
Not that 3D shit, with all these shit extra charcters.
2 was the best, and the “emerald green zone” form sonic 1, was the best level.
Lol, I’m such a nerd.

The Saints did the bussiness huh?
Is that the first time they’ve won the superbowl?

I’m not so sure.
I think they are following Nintendo Mario reboot.
I have the game and haven’t touched it. Watching the kids play I don’t think the Wii motion shit adds to the game at all. Sonic was good and even my daughter loved playing it on the xbox emu.

Sonic in 3D wont be as good a Mario in 3D.
Sonic is too damn fast for 3D….

Yeah, I think that is what killed it.
I’m sure it could be done it they kept it on an invisible track of some sort.

The public response to the game so far has been positive. Sega/Sonic fans are very happy. Let´s hope it´s not the “Sonic Cycle” latest iteration.
