Uncharted 2 gets multiplayer trophies and more DLCs
Uncharted 2, Game of the Year for 2009 will be getting a patch for the multiplayer mode. The patch will add 12 new trophies and 12 in-game medals. In addition to the patch, Naughty Dog is planning on releasing DLC for the game.
Just when you thought you were done with Uncharted 2, it sucks you back in. Gamers who may have gotten all the trophies in Uncharted 2 will have another excuse to delve back into the game.
Naughty Dog recently announced that the game will receive a patch for 12 new trophies. In addition, the studio has a slew of new DLCs planned for the game. The DLC will include skins for: Original Drake, Elena, Atoq Navarro, Eddie Raja, Gabriel Roman and Javier. The DLC also includes a map pack with “Flooded Ruins†and “The Facility.â€
Flooded Ruins takes place in the customs house from Uncharted 1 and The Facility takes place in the submarine dock from the first game. Its a great opportunity to play some of the favorite levels from the first game again in Uncharted 2’s multiplayer mode.

These awards are generally announced well into the year from most legitimate game awards. I have the horrible suspicion mike has used taken this straight from one of the fanboy polls on this site i.e. with 1000 votes from Ivan. LOL

Well, it won IGN’s overall GOTY, and Metacritic named it “the most critically acclaimed game of 2009″. If you judge GOTY by the overall quality of the game, Uncharted 2 is the winner. Of course, plenty of people judge GOTY on popularity and sales impact, which is fine. In that case it would be MW2. I do think that it’s fair to call it GOTY, but you can’t call it “the biggest game of 2009″.
As for the article:
I’m going to have to come back to U2s multiplayer sometime. I used to be pretty good, almost always getting #1 in the match even though I was only lvl 34 or so. I still can’t drag myself away from MW2s multiplayer. I haven’t even gotten 3 missions into the campaign, and I clocked in about 2 days or something online. It’s so frustrating and often unbalanced, but TOO. DANG. ADDICTING. For never owning a COD before this one, I’m pretty proud of my 1.28 KD/R, and for not being in a party or clan, I’m proud of my 0.97 WL/R, but I’m no god at the game.
My biggest problem with it is the matchmaking system. Every time I join a match, I get put in a team losing by about 2000 points. Of course, some poor sod quit the game, and I get chosen to replace him. A couple games later, the lobby closes. Rinse, repeat if necessary. If not, turn off game and play some Rock Band.

Okay mike nice to know your source ha ha! Just wanted to point out it wasn’t game of the year…..yet.
I think it’s going to be close between Modern Warfare 2 and Uncharted 2 but personally I would like to see Street Fighter 4 get it because I love what they’ve done with it but we both know that ain’t gonna happen.

I’m not a huge competitive online guy, but I had a blast with UC2 online.
A free in coming patch adding trophies? This proves that not only is Naughty Dog one of the greatest developers out there, but also they also know how to treat their fans.

hell I been busy playing other games so I just bought UC2 friday night. I beat it this mourning and now I will get online and see whats going on with that. I remember playing it during the beta and it was fun for the few maps they offered. Btw I thought NDog did an excellent job on this game and it was pretty fun also.

I liked how having a higher level gives almost no advantage over your opponents. Once you have down on the irons and fleet foot, you’re ready to go. It’s definitely skill-based.
What I liked most is the play style. The ONLY way to play it is run n’ gun. If you camp, you will get torn apart from behind. What I’m not too fond of is how many bullets it takes to kill someone. That makes shotguns and grenades VERY helpful. I can’t tell you guys just how much fun I’ve had running around on Sanctuary with the shotgun pistol the whole match.

Also, the only game mode I’ve ever played on it was Deathmatch, for whatever reason. I’ll take a look at what the new trophies are. I already have the platinum, and I’ll be glad to pad a few more on.

Come on two or Three Trophies that’s it. A 360 game will pack way more achievement then that. There are standards on the 360 you know. Also any new DLC is allowed to add a certain amount of new achievement. I can’t remember what the rule is but there is a standard that must be meet. And Oldschool the 360 has free DLC at times to. Does Mass Effect 2 ring a bell?
