The Haunted: Winner of MSUC comes to the PS3
A little game based on the Unreal Tournament 3 engine has been getting a bit of attention from the video game community. The game, The Haunted is a complete UT3 mod developed from the ground up to be a action-horror shooter.
A little over a year ago EPIC games started a contest called the Make Something Unreal Contest (MSUC), challenging amateurs to make the most awesome mod. The contest has run its course for this year and EPIC Games have announced the winners.
Unsurprisingly the game to come out on top is The Haunted, which has been getting a great deal of attention for its polish and kick-ass gameplay. Developed completely off the UT3 mod tools, the developers have done an excellent job in building the game from the ground up.

Since The Haunted won first place, the team has received a commercial license for UE3 from EPIC Games. The developers announced that the next game will be a full blown retail offering called The Haunted: Hell’s Reach and will release on the PC and PS3.
The contest version of the mod is available for free online now, and the PS3 version is in the works. The Haunted features four player co-op, control the monster, RTS style monster army control and more.
Another mod that won fifth place is The Ball, which has gotten a bit of attention for its unique puzzle/action hybrid concept. The game features a six-hour single player campaign with massive boss battles and has won the best UT3 single player award.
The Ball is available for the PC and PS3 for free now.

I know its wishful thinking as PS3 supports mods, but it would be nice if the haunted was available free via download. Looks like PS3 has there own L4D so to speak…

I’m finally on the Zeus battle in GOW 2. I had to pause it after over ½ of trying to do the mini game part. Kratos tells Zeus he is laying down his arms then tricks him.
I was getting so dam mad. I could only get 2 buttons pushed MAX.
They don’t give you much time to respond and I need to memorize the buttons more.
Slow reflexes also I guess. I have to finish tonight so I can turn the game off LOL.

As soon as I finish off Zeus I will go back and get the rest of the trophies. I enjoyed getting the 15 minute fight one last night. Except it didn’t feel like anywhere near 15 minutes. And the fat chick with 20 tits was fun to kill.

GoW 1 and 2 had the best intros in gaming history. Seeing where the 2nd one left off, I can’t wait to see how the 3rd begins. It’s going to be insane.
I’m guessing the screen shots of Kratos on Guya that were released will be part of the intro.

lol Nazi Zombies is really fun. I’ve played a lot at friends houses. Now that it’s pretty cheap I might have to pick it up.
My friend has the iphone version. Which looks better than most Wii games. Also the online multiplayer works really well.
