More verbal apology from Valve on PS3 development
Recently Valve indicated that the company would be developing games for the PS3 down the road. Now, it seems that the company representative is showing remorse about not taking advantage of the PS3 initially.
Valve is probably the one third-party developer most hated by PS3 fanboys. This is due to Valve’s public refusal to support the platform in the past despite a clear demand for the company’s titles. Some have called this stance irresponsible, which lead to the porting The Orange Box up to another third-party studio.
Recently, Chet Faliszek told CVG that the company is working to “get better†on the PS3. Faliszek stated, “We thought that the Orange Box didn’t put our best foot forward with the PS3 community. We don’t want to do something like that again on the PS3. We want to give PS3 owners the best possible experience.â€
He further states, “Some of that will come from us learning and getting better. Before we can go onto the PS3 again, we want to make sure we’re better at developing for it.”
That sounds like a crystal clear commitment at making games for the PS3. The question is how long Valve will take as the company is known for taking a long time to make anything (except Left 4 Dead 2).

It’s funny that the amateur who won the Unreal contest can figure out how to develop for PS3. But the big shots over at Valve can’t figure it out. That really says a lot about how competent they are as developers.

I guess that’s the difference between the unreal engine and the source engine, the source engine is very well suited to computers, whilst the PS3 is nothing like a PC. You really shouldn’t buy a valve game on consoles unless you have to, the difference is quite astounding.

Fuck Valve…i used to be a HUGE fan, and pusher of Valve.
If they really want to make it up to us this is REQUIRED from them:
Half-Life 2 + all the Episodes in a bundle for $40..
Anything less than that will be met with a “fuck valve”

The Ps3 system has picked up in sales and now Valve wants a piece of the Ps3 pie so to speak. Valve just thought it was not worth the time before because Ps3 games weren’t selling enough for them to invest time to develop for the Ps3.

I will like to play L4D…Im a fan of horror games and since RE5 did not live to its hype im will buy a good zombie game even if it comes from valve. they are a talented team and they make good games, they are just lazy as shit and they like to blame the the console because of their lack of programming skills

I have played L4D on my friend’s 360 (split-screen)
the level I played was kind of boring, But I know it is alot of fun when you play online. I loved the Nazi Zombie mode on CoD:WaW so I will definitely like this

Can someone please explain “Pbot” to me?
Xbot at least works as a play on words. Drop the X out of box add the T, and it references to Xbox Robots that blindly follow everything Xbox related.
Pbot on the other hand is retarded. Shouldn’t it be PSbot to make any sort of semblance of what it’s trying to do.
PS3rd. is creative, but hardly references people more than the machine itself.
