Review copies of Final Fantasy XIII are being sent out to various publication outlets. Early reports and impressions have started rolling in with some indication that the Xbox 360 version of Final Fantasy XIII might be slightly inferior.
Darksiders flew under the radar for most people. However, THQ plans on rectifying this by releasing a full blown demo or slice of the game to the populous. No other publisher has done this in the past and it is a risky move that could pay off.
The NPD numbers came out recently showing the top ten selling software titles. Many were curious to see how well newly released titles such as MAG and Bayonetta were selling. The top 20 list shows all of the games that were not revealed on the initial NPD report.
Recently during the NBA All-Star weekend, a Final Fantasy XIII advert aired during the event. Many eagle-eyed gamers spotted this commercial and noticed that it ended with an Xbox 360 logo with no PS3 logo in sight. This caused many to speculate that Microsoft may have some sort of exclusive deal for marketing.
It was just a few weeks ago it emerged that Sega hasn’t yet given up hope of making Shenmue 3. While it may never actually happen, if it does I hope Sega takes inspiration from Heavy Rain, Quantic Dream’s new PS3 exclusive which muddies the space between movies and games more than ever before.
If you were hoping Final Fantasy XIII would have some cool DLC then you’re to be disappointed. Purists will be happier. Then again, Final Fantasy games always have more than enough longevity to surely eschew the need for any DLC anyway.
