Rockstar to announce GTA V before E3?
GTA V is bound to make an appearance at E3 2010, right? Wrong, possibly. In fact, one analyst thinks Rockstar will announce the game prior to the annual video games show. Let’s hope he’s correct because I’m starting to get withdrawal symptoms.
If you believe Take-Two, the next installment of the insanely popular Grand Theft Auto series isn’t on its way. Of course it isn’t. While most people would realize this is absolute BS, it’s still not clear when the game will be announced, let alone actually released.
According to Industry Gamers, Janco Partners analyst Mike Hickey believes the game could be announced in the next few months. And once it is released it could be bigger than its predecessor. He said:
There is building suspension for a pre-E3 GTA V announcement, although we expect nothing from Rockstar at this year’s official E3 event. GTA is one of those franchises that’s so huge that Rockstar doesn’t even need to do it at E3; Rockstar and Take-Two could hold their own event and announce the title in the days leading right up to E3, when many publishers often do hold separate press events.
We think the next iteration of GTA for console can significantly outsell its predecessor, reflecting on the sales acceleration of the prior cycle GTA console iterations, an accelerating core gamer installed base and the most talented/motivated development team in the world, in our view.
I don’t know about the pre-E3 announcement. But GTA V outselling GTA IV is highly likely thanks to an increased install base for the consoles it will be released on. As for when that release will actually happen, my money is on this time next year.

Wow they are now rushing the IP that suck. They ruin GTA IV with the new control it feels so bad they needed to put it back to the GTA Vice City feel or San Andreas or the first 2 GTA on PSP. They are rushing the IP which will destroy the way the game sells.

I think I’ve agreed with you before on this, but I can’t agree enough in this instance. If they would tone the ‘realistic’ vehicle handling down a bit that would be great also.

The 2 GTA DLC should had been a billion times better and more profitable if their were released as full length games for PS3, PC and Xbox 360. They were already over 10 hours long that’s enough to be a full game. Take Two Interactive blow it they fail with this wow so much money wasted for being stupid. Also the entire PS2 GTA series with online and 1080p graphics redone for PS3 will sell so much. They don’t think this business people area ll retarded. Damn i need to be a fucking business man so i can take over the world in a heart beat.

Being spoiled with HQuality PS3 exclusives I am now careful in buying multiplatform games with all the M$ politics going on- so many compromises on these kinda games.
I believe any gamer have the right to play nothing but the best on a PS3. So far exclusives like MGS4, LBP, U2, HR does it for me – coz they are unadulterated – games designed to make the most of my PS3 investment whose quality can not be had in any other console.
I am glad Sony have the balls, taking risks to cover all of the bases(genres)possible with their exclusives.
Their forward thinking is really laying out the ground work for the future of gaming with their new IPs. So far these new franchises they are introducing are creative and worth playing.
So far they are on a winning streak with quality trying to top their last act successively.

One day my PSN account was banned for like less then one day weird i was so worried.
GTA V needs at least three years to make and hopefully it will be a PS3 lifetime exclusive somehow i will hate to see another GTA IV.

Gay Tony is fucking brilliant! The fun factor takes over the realism factor which is how GTA4 should have been. I don’t want GTA for realism but for insane gameplay. San Andreas was the best of the series, every mission was different from the last. Gay Tony was just like that.
