Bioshock 2 DLC not really DLC at all
And there was I thinking DLC meant Downloadable Content. It doesn’t, at least according to 2K. Because the Bioshock 2 ‘DLC’ is actually already present on the retail disc, with purchasers merely buying the ability to unlock it. Which is absolutely disgusting.
I’m not a big fan of the new trend for DLC. Some is good – the free kind, the kind that expands the game massively, the kind that is obviously extraneous to the retail version of the game – but most is bad, just being an excuse to rinse extra cash from loyal gamers. And 2K is taking liberties with the Bioshock 2 DLC titled Sinclair Solutions Tester Pack.
According to users of the 2K forum, the file size of the DLC clearly implies that the content is already on the disc. And 2K sort of confirmed as much in the thread dedicated to the issue, while refusing to explain the reason or apologizing for such a crass move that has been rightly condemned by the majority of gamers.
DLC should not be planned, finished, and included on the disc of a game. Because it then stops being DLC and becomes just an opportunity to milk gamers for all they’re worth. 2K should be ashamed.

Isn’t claiming DLC amounting to false advertising? I mean after all you not actually downloading anything.
March 14th, 2010
Didn’t resident Evil 5 do the same thing?
@ Rhino,
How did you go with your PS3 repair problem?
March 15th, 2010
THE SHAME, THE HUMANITY.
I do agree though, that is a low act ….. But being MP content, I don’t care.
March 15th, 2010
Harry,
Yup RE5 did the exact same thing. There was more of an uproar about it though. This is the first I’m hearing about this.
Rhino,
Good question. Maybe because you actually download a key, it counts as buying/downloading something tangible.

Chuck Norris is STILL polling strong ……. I LOVE IT.
Keep voting pollsters
DOn’t let the Wii catch him, or we may see a patented roundhouse smashing

Just like EA did with Burnout Paradise this is a robbery. That’s why when i made the Xbox version free i unlocked the DLC with codes.
March 15th, 2010
I thought most of Burnout Paradise’s DLC was free?

All of them are pay to play type. I purchased them all on my PS3.

First Tiger Woods, now 2K?! Dirty, dirty habits… shaaaame…
March 15th, 2010
@ Ivan,
Even the motorbike DLC?
March 15th, 2010
Harry, Spoke to Sony today and have 2 choices.
1 – Send it back to them for a refurb unit and have a working machine in approx 5 days. Cost $250 and whatever saved games I had.
2 – Send it back to get repaired which will take 2+ weeks. Cost $250 and possibly loose all saved games due to them possibly needing to format.
Neither are appealing a the moment.
March 15th, 2010
@Saber “First Tiger Woods” Yeah but TW is mass produced by EA, so no big suprises there of dirty deeds.
March 15th, 2010
Rhino,
What if you did what I did before I formatted my hard drive? Save the save data onto a usb drive.
$250 for a refurb is a bit rich. I would say that they put that price up so high so people just buy a new machine, but seeing that they are losing money on each machine sold, I doubt they’re doing that.

Everything
On November 7, 2008 Criterion announced the first premium content pack called “Legendary Cars”. The pack features four cars inspired by famous vehicles from film and television.
On March 5, 2009, Criterion announced the release of the “Toy Cars” pack. It features a collection of new vehicles designed with a “toy car” aesthetic, although modelled as full-size cars. The Toy Cars pack has been released in three packs. The full pack offering all toy cars and also the Nakamura Firehawk; a toy motorcycle, the others splitting the content into two parts, without the Firehawk.
On March 12, 2009, the “Boost Specials” pack was released. It featured two cars: the Carson Extreme Hotrod and the Montgomery Hawker Mech. The Carson was described as the fastest car in the game and featured a ‘locked’ boost; the car continues to boost until it is brought to a stop, either performing a 180-degree turn, slowing down with the handbrake or by crashing. The vehicle dynamics system were rewired so that the Carson performs more realistically than any other car in the game. The Montgomery Hawker Mech also featured a unique boost system, allowing the player to willingly switch between the three different boost types at the touch of a button.
On February 6, 2009, via the Criterion Games Network, Criterion announced the “Cops & Robbers” pack, which was released April 30, 2009 for PlayStation 3.
Originally announced as the “Eastwood” pack coming in “Fall 2008″, the expansion known as “Big Surf Island” was released June 11, 2009.

March 15th, 2010
how do you save you save data to a portable drive? I tried one time and I only recall being able to copy it to another profile…
March 15th, 2010
@Phran
If the USB is recognized by the PS3 it shows up when you hit copy of the game save.
March 15th, 2010
I have to use USB because the new copy over the network doesn’t work and is a pain in the ass.
I think uploading to a server would be great!
March 15th, 2010
ncaissie pretty much answered your question.
I transfer my saved datas every time I go to my girl’s house (she has her own PS3 Slim) or to one of my friend’s house to play one of my games
March 15th, 2010
Thanks.
March 15th, 2010
“she has her own PS3 Slim”
So you get left out a lot? LOL jk
March 15th, 2010
Mine wants nothing to do with games. But does play Harry Potter for some reason.
March 15th, 2010
mine started with LBP, then GoW for PSP, now she is playing GoW collection, Heavenly Sword and Heavy Rain
March 15th, 2010
Mine just plays Bejeweled 2.
March 15th, 2010
“But does play Harry Potter for some reason.”
I should say Did. She rented it for week.
Now she just plays poker on her Iphone.
March 15th, 2010
“Mine just plays Bejeweled 2.”
Most chicks just don’t get it.
March 15th, 2010
@ Rhino
Lol not the Tiger Woods game series, but the real Tiger Woods and his tendency to hump everything in sight. I’m comparing a sex addiction (which hurt his family) to 2Ks apparent money addiction (which is hurting their fans). Horrid comparison, but I had to…
March 15th, 2010
“I’m comparing a sex addiction (which hurt his family) ”
The addiction was only an excuse to save his marriage. He screws a lot because he is Tiger and can. Plain and simple.
March 15th, 2010
every man is addicted to sex…..can’t really blame tigue when he be nailing down 18 holes in golf but only one hole in sex
March 15th, 2010
Bejeweled is so fucking awesome and addicting i cannot believe i haven’t purchased that from XBL or PSN oh i forgot is free online why bother.
Roca.:
Hell yeah so true. At least he uses his money for real fun. If i was a millionaire not saying I’m not but of that i am. I will not get marry why bother if i was so rich.
If i was rich not saying I’m not i will use that money for corruption for sure. I love being a VILLAIN fuck Heroes.
Oh and did you here that that PlayStation now means Video Games, take that Microsoft on your face. Nintendo you didn’t get it cuzz you have always sucked.
March 15th, 2010
Yup… nearly every man on earth is addicted to sex. However, most can control it. Tiger Woods was known for being a “Mr. Perfect” figure, and it’s not like he didn’t have anywhere to erm discharge himself, but he still has to fall for all of those women.
Then again, it’s those girl’s faults too. They know he’s a married man, and it’s not like they screw random black men named Eldrick every day. What does that tell about them? Mhm.
March 15th, 2010
@Saber LOL yeah I see your point now.
Though the same could be said for EA, they’re happy to fuck everyone they can.
@Harry, I did do a back-up but it was a couple weeks ago, so when I decide what to do I’ll see what I can do with the back-ups.
March 15th, 2010
hey ivan. . . . . .hate to break it to ya but the real reason you wouldnt get married is coz its just not possible. . . .if you got married or lost your virginity the universe would implode. lmfao
March 16th, 2010
@ Rhino
Epic comparison right there… I could make a Chinese proverb out of that
March 16th, 2010
PSN, The service was expanded to the UK, France, Germany and Spain on 20 November 2009. The service will be launched in other territories in Summer At the same time Sony started offering movies and TV Shows in Japan whereas before they only offered anime and manga shows. The Service is currently unavailable in Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, and Australia until 2010

I don’t think he pays for it Ivan.
