Nintendo: PS3 Move is very ‘Wii-Too’
The release of Move on the PS3 and Natal on the Xbox 360 is approaching fast. Some gamers are excited, others are worried that this means an end to the traditional controller-played game for ever. But what does Nintendo think about its new competitors?
Reggie Fils-Aime, president of Nintendo America, recently spoke to the L.A. Times during the Game Developers Conference. When asked if he was concerned about Move and Natal, he said:
Looking at what PlayStation is doing, it feels very ‘Wii-too.’ In terms of Microsoft, we’ll see when they actually show off their software. I think our competitors will be challenged in a number of ways: bringing fun experiences to life, because in the end that’s what the consumer wants.
Our competitors will be challenged on providing the great value we have always provided. Our consumers have a system that they love. Is that consumer suddenly going to stop and go do something else?
Yes, I think they might do. Every system has a limited time basking in the sun, and maybe the Wii’s sunbathing is due to come to an end. The fact that the two rival consoles will both have motion control systems by the end of the year certainly isn’t going to help the Wii, despite what Nintendo would have you believe.
As for Move being “Wii-too” that’s the feeling I get as well. It’s more impressive that the Wii Remote, but it’s essentially doing the exact same thing. Whereas at least Microsoft is trying something new and innovative with Natal. If it works, of course.

Anyone remember Steel Battalion on Xbox? It cost $200 and came with its own special controller. This HUGE thing with like 2 control sticks, a set of pedals, and like 40 some buttons. LMAO now that was fucking epic.

Sony is copying the Wii (despite Sony having released a motion controller years before Nintendo (Move is Sonys 4th motion controller and this tech was patented before the Wii was released) but Microsoft AREN’T copying Sony despite the fact Natal uses the same tech as the EyeToy and PlayStation Eye?

I don’t like vibration in all games. Sometimes I find it annoying. If it has a decent functionality within the game I like it.
For instance..Back in the day I’d keep vibration on for turbo in Twisted Metal Black. The reason being< i can tell without looking if I was hitting turbo. If it doesn't add to the game, I sometimes keep it off (if I remember to)

Yeah, like re-releasing the same games over and over again. It doesn’t matter if their games are $45, it’s over priced for GameCube, SNES, NES games from the past.

I’m slowly working my way through GOW3. I’m enjoying every moment of this game. When I got off work yesterday, I rushed home to play the game. GOW3 is so cool.
You’ll probably enjoy Dante’s Inferno as well. I have to start all over again with Dante’s Inferno, Darksiders, and Bayonetta because I don’t have my past saves for these games. I’m only thinking about GOW3 right now though.

friends and trophies are uniquely tied to your specific account..
You can go to your buddies and create an account on his ps3 with an existing user (you) and have all your stuff on his ps3 when he logs in as you, but thats the best I think you can do….
