Square Enix to explore possibility of Final Fantasy VII remake Many fans of the Final Fantasy franchise have been clamoring for a remake of the seventh game in the series. According to Square Enix that dream may be closer to becoming a reality.

According to Siliconera, Yoichi Wadda, President and CEO of Square Enix had something to say about the possibility of a Final Fantasy VII remake. Wadda indicated that the company plans on exploring the possibility of remaking the game. He stated, “We’re going to explore the possibility – whether or not we’re going to do it, if we’re going to do it, and the platform.”

Wadda also said, “Right now we don’t have a clear direction, but many fans have requested we remake Final Fantasy VII." Besides the fans, Yoshinori Kitase, producer of Final Fantasy XIII even expressed desire to helm a remake.

This is actually pretty big news as the CEO is confirming that the company will be officially looking into remaking the game. This is a bit more promising then developers “expressing” interest in a remake.
