Yamauchi: GT5 “totally different” from Prologue
Polyphony Digital boss Kazunori Yamauchi has promised that the full version of Gran Turismo 5 will be “totally different” to GT5: Prologue. I would hope so too.
This is one of those stories that belongs in the ‘No Shit, Sherlock’ pile. I fully expected Gran Turismo 5 to be much improved on Prologue, and that’s exactly what Yamauchi is now promising. According to Digital Spy, he recently told PSM3:
Though the look and feel of Prologue and the full version will have uniformity, the full version will be totally different in terms of scale and diversity in comparison.
Thanks for that, Kaz. After all, you’ve only had two years since Prologue was released to work on the full game. And there’s still no sign of Gran Turismo 5 proper making an appearance.
I have no doubts that GT5 will be awesome when it finally gets released, but I’m personally getting a little sick of waiting for that to happen. No game needs a development time this long. Not even a new Gran Turismo.

We all know Gran Turismo 5 would make video game history in awesomeness in quality plus in sales and online community plus fans. Also many Xbox 360 owners will be buying a PS3 just to see this game. This game is awesome even if you don’t play real simulator racing master piece. This is a dream car collection to own virtually.

Maybe its trying to make shit loads of new Guiness Book World Records too. Like the longest game in development which is not bad at all. With the rising cost of development its woth the time and effort to make a timeless game design – something that will last for a long, long time. Which makes sense from a economical & business standpoint.
PS3 is the tortoise of the console race.

Kameo had a pretty long development cycle, and of course Alan wake which had video of it shown 5 years ago.

im pretty sure Forza doesn’t have a full version of Nascar and W2R. Also GT5 will feature over 1000 Cars, thats also 3x of what Forza 3 have. GT5′s graphics are also unmatched, Forza 3 fell short of matching the visual quality of GT5p and 2008 “demo” (as you guys like to call it)
Time in development doesn’t mean a better game but in GT5′s we are see that they are adding more stuff and the game will be pretty much 3 game in 1

Gran Turismo could have already been released.Gran Turismo is being delayed because the the competition upped them. They went back to the drawing board because they wanted to incorporate some things similar to the competition. When this game releases, it will be ultimate driving game. F1 and Nascar alone is worth the entry price for a lot of people.

I think it’s great they incorporated Nascar because no one was going to buy it alone. The series pretty much sucks. So a few Nascar runs added is not bad because we don’t need a full blown version. But Forza sent them back to the drawing board I can agree with that. Forza shows that you don’t need to long development cycle because there are 3 games and no GT and soon to be Forza 4 by the time it comes out.

Foza is garbage, it reeks of being a me too type of tgame, the only feature that forza has is design decals and car damage, which done much better in burnout paradise, and if I want color candied cars ill play a need for speed game, which id rather play than forza…
I do agree tho they taking too long bringing it
As for people not buying gt alone without nascar….lol, tell that to the previous gts, which are still the kings of simulation racing games…forza couldn’t even dethrone those or let alone a “demo”
When people talk of the 360, they only mention two games, halo, and gears…then prob fable but NEVER have I met a person who say they buying a 360 for forza

Like the first GT raised the bar on realistic graphics for the PSOne, GT5 graphics will likely raised it again on PS3 and will be king until the next GT after it arrives.
In America, UK, Europe and Japan, GT5 will be the next best thing to a real automobile. It is posed to be the best PS3 game known to mankind.

Gran Turismo 5 could have been released already, but we don’t want half of a game. As long as Sony keep us busy with great exclusive there is no problem in waiting and giving developers all the time they need to reach what they are trying to achieve.
This is why Team ICO is able to pull some awesome and unique games, they take all the time they need to develop their game, the end results have been masterpieces so far.

Claiming XBL is better because of the interface and Netflix is way beyond what XBL/PSN stands for.
XBL and PSN are both online services, which they include “pretty much” the same.
the main difference is that XBL charges you to play online and it can be argue that online play is more stable and more efficient on PSN than on XBL as XBL has been hacked and its plagued with hacks/mods/glitches and that kind of stuff.
als PSN lets you use dedicated server at no extra cost.

wait a sec, second if by physics you mean “car damage” then you are right…….but if you are trying to imply GT5 wanted to have similar driving physics as the competitions then you must have not played any GT game yet…the GT series has by far the best driving physics of any driving game. Even GT5p drives better than (more realistic) than any Forza game.
but GT5 is not only adding car damage…they are also adding a full version of Nascar plus W2R racing.
the you can add the insane amount of cars and the details of the cars. also they are adding 3D, PS Eye support and more.
PD are know for being a perfectionist group of developer and I think we all know what perfectionist means (the won’t release the game until they are fully satisfied with the final built)

Honestly? You think they are adding damage due to Forza or any other game? If so why wasn’t it in the first 4? Surely they weren’t the only racing game for the first 4. They most likely decided to put it in at the gamers request. No one but the developers would know this and they would never say for sure. So taking an xbots word for it is just stupid.
