Microsoft confirms Fable III is multiplatform
Microsoft recently confirmed the speculated PC version of Fable III. After Fable II, most gamers thought that the franchise would never return to the PC. However, this shouldn’t be surprising given Peter Molyneux’s GDC presentation.
During GDC, Molyneux gave a presentation highlighting the fact that Fable III needs to sell around 5 million units in order for the franchise to survive. Fable II sold 3.5 million when it released exclusively for the Xbox 360. However, if Fable III were to go multiplatform across PC and Xbox 360, then chances of selling 5 million units become much better.
With the leak of the box art for Fable III showing Windows as one of the platforms, many speculated that the game would be coming back to the PC. Today, Microsoft confirmed that the PC version of the game will sell for £39.99.
However, I am still somewhat concerned about the future of the Fable franchise in general. I chastised Fable II for being a dumbed down RPG for the casual market. Molyneux has stated that Fable III will not be an RPG and will be an action adventure game instead. According to Molyneux, this was done because only the core gamers understand RPG concepts.
Well, if you can’t understand simple icons that are clearly labeled like pictured below:

hahaha that has yet to happen CAD…..at least for PS3 exclusives. have you seen infamous, uncharted 1 & 2, GoW3, MGS4, Killzone 2, Motorstorm 1 and PR on PSP?
sure they franchise might have some games on the PSP, but they are totally a different game (ex. Killzone 2 (PS3) not the same as Killzone Liberation (PSP))

Has anyone seen the developer video for Fable 3? First off, is Peter Molyneux on drugs?
Secondly, he was playing up the fact that your weapons change according to your play style. He made it sound like the second coming of Jesus. I’m pretty sure that I’ve seen that mechanic in a few other games already.
Molyneux is SO over dramatic, it’s kind of fun to watch him make an ass of himself.

Say. It. Ain’t. So. Reports indicate that J Allard, a driving force behind the design of the Xbox (and the Zune) is leaving Microsoft, after his latest dream project was binned by the company.
Having been the former pin-up boy of Microsoft’s video game consoles, especially in the lead-up to the launch of the Xbox 360, Allard – sorry, Dr. Allard – had recently been working on the Courier, an amazing tablet computer concept that was one of the coolest things coming out Microsoft in years.
The Courier project was recently cancelled by Microsoft, however, and a report on ZDNet claims that having had serious disagreements with Microsoft boss Steve Ballmer over the potential of the device, Allard is now on “sabbatical” and “is unlikely to return to Microsoft”.
If true, this is a shame. Not just because we used to hide outside his house and steal hair clippings from his trash, but because the guy made a massive contribution to the video game industry, and that kind of insight will be missed by many, not least Microsoft.

S for the multiplatform debate going on:
The main console wars is between only two consoles:
Sony ps3 and 360
When you can get x game without having to buy the console itself…sorry but its not an exclusive…
In this case, I can pick up fable 1 and now 3, without having to purchase a 360, herego, its not exclusive to the 360 because IF, IF, IF you have a pc, you can play..
Now, the other side of the fence…if you don’t have a pc…then by all means, its an exclusive title being you don’t have the “workaround”…
Its a technicality for both sides of the argument….both sides are both right and wrong…but…but

Xbox360 has sold more “shooter” titles then Ps3. Even though Xbox360 has only a few shooting titles as you stated, Sony’s shooters do not match the sales of Xbox360′s top selling shooters. These are the sales numbers. The reasons that you come up with do not change the fact that Xbox360 has the highest selling “shooters.” Sony may have more of a variety of “shooters” but Xbox360 edges out in sales in this genre.

Yeah I’ll admit that The perpetuals are a bit over priced but compare that to the Original PS3 price, their laptops and their TV and other electronics and Samsung or LG or anyone else will get my money. The only time Sony gets sales is when they can’t move their products and the stores are forced to have a sale. Besides having the Wi-Fi out side the box allows for easy upgrades to wireless-N.

the PS3 can be upgraded to wireless N way easier, and you are not force to buy propietary overprice peripherals…..also you can just choose not to upgrade at all and use its built-in wireless G which is not so different than wireless N.

same for the PS3 and you can use any 3rd party peripheral for much less than the $100 microsoft is charging you guys. at least the PS3 offers wireless capabilities out of the box and and the difference between N and G is not worth the upgrade price.

seems like there is a bit of setup if you want that option plus that same option exsist for the 360 as well. It does not seem that simple plus you get this big ass wireless N adapter compared to the way the 360 adapter fits on the back of the console. I would rather spend the money.
That also the reson you won’t be able to stream 1080P and yes the difference is big. 150 Mbs speeds compared to 54 Mbs for G

you can a “Thumb Drive-like” wireless N adapter for cheaper and the setup is the regular ‘scan/WEP key’ set up you have to go through with every single wireless divice…stop trying to make a big deal about this just because MS is raping you guys with all their peripherals.
you will never get 150mbs over a wireless router, be realistic now and the ability to stream 1080p movies does not have anything to do with your wireless signal, as long as you have a high-speed connection you should be good.

The PS3 only tests the internet speed. There is no way to tell your LAN speed unless you time a file copy from the PC to the PS3.

If he meant streaming through the internet than you are right. The wifi adapter won’t magically increase your ISP’s speed into your house. If he meant from his PC to the 360 as a media server the wifi N will have a direct speed increase for things like that.

I had a wireless G router and lots of problems with every connection. They connected at 4-5mps when they worked. I upgrade my modem to one with Wireless N built in and all connections went to 10mps which is the max from my ISP.

because N has a wider range, it gives a more steady connection to multiple devices that are not close to it. I also have and Lynks Wireless N router and I haven’t notice different with the exception that now My PSP can pick up stronger signal from the leaving room…but My PS3 sits about 3 ft away from my router and it’s connection speed is the same: 15Mbs down/ 6Mbs up (it changes from time to time, but thats the average)
