Final Fantasy Versus XIII director provides much needed update

Final Fantasy Versus XIII director provides much needed update There is barely any information out on Final Fantasy Versus XIII for good reason. The publisher, Square Enix has had an information blackout on the game for sometime, allowing Final Fantasy XIII to breath.

According to IGN, it appears that Tetsuya Nomura, director for Final Fantasy Versus XIII, wants to reveal everything about the game. However, Square Enix has put a gag on the Nomura as it conflicts with the publisher’s policy.

Apparently Square Enix doesn’t want to shift focus away from what the publisher has released recently. Nomura explains that Square Enix only promotes games in the order of release.

Nomura also provided some interesting information about Versus. He stated:

here have been many questions regarding fields. It’s not a completely open world. It’s like the 2D FF games in HD. Although, in terms of looks, it’s not a top-down view, it’s like the screenshots that have been released. You’ll move through the world from that view.

Its not clear what he exactly means but it seems like we won’t be getting an isometric view of the game. I suspect that the developers will reveal the game during TGS.

More like allowing the shit storm over FFXIII to settle.

    LOL fahk is right.
Or the game was shit like13 and they went back to the drawing board.

  3. FahKinSuPah:

    @ncaissie

Yeah that would really suck wouldn’t it?

No wonder Square said before FFXIII was release that there would be no DLC for it, cause they knew it sucked before it was released and spending extra resources and time to develop DLC would have gone to waste lol

You can tell Square Enix went back to the drawing board many times while creating FF13…in fact, it is clear that they didnt know what they were doing and all the time they spent figuring that out was the product of 3 full FF13 games…what was originally a single FF games became a 3-game FF title.

I can tell you what happened with 13…It was all done and great until MS slipped them the moneys..then they thought they could just port the entire game over to the 360…when that couldn’t happen due of course to the 360 being so limited and inferior, they redid the game in order to fit both systems, as to not upset the MS check book…..

What we got was, the worst FF in FF history….

^^ lets see who really thinks i actually think that lol cue in HH….

In reality, FF13 was destined to be a bad game…i do think because of the 360, A LOT of content had to be CUT, along with gameplay and entire levels ( think maps and actual towns ) but i believe even with that thrown in…it would have ended up a bad FF still…i think it was the characters….i just couldn’t get into them…..

I think FF 13 was a good game, but not a great Final Fantasy.

The characters and story were good, but the games pacing was really bad. It took like 20 hours before the game took the training wheels off.

The new battle system was good, but they should have incorporated a turn based option. It would have been a really simple solution to make everyone happy.

As far as VS 13… SE today is not that SE from years past. I’m cautiously optimistic, but it seems like the company is all too willing to sell out its heritage to try and gain western audiences.

The battle system was the worst imo.
The battle system was one of the main reason I stopped playing the game. I used to fall asleep pressing ‘X’ during long battles. It was painful man

  9. Barnabe Jones:

I hear you… but again, it took hours until you actually faced some tough battles and had to switch roles strategically.

I think the battle system was pretty good, but it took too damn long until it really took off.

When FF13 was released, I got flashbacks to when ‘The Phantom Menace’ came out and remembered the same disappointment lol.

    lol @ OS

I remember trying to defend it to myself…

“Well, the Lightsaber fight at the end was good”

In truth, I wanted to punch Lucas in the face for making Anakin a little kid. He should have been Lukes age from the beginning. It would have made the whole Anakin/Padme love story more believable.

Don’t get me started on Jar Jar Binks.
