Confirmed: Mass Effect for PS3 announcement tomorrow [UPDATED]

With Gamescom in full swing the rumors have started to fly once again. This time the word on the street seems to revolve around the major Xbox 360 exclusive franchise, Mass Effect.
**Updated**
Not enough info for a separate post so here is a quick update:
Bioware just confirmed Mass Effect 2 for the PS3 at EA’s press conference for January 2011. Looks like the source was on point. However, that still leaves Mass Effect: Genesis unanswered. Also, what about the first Mass Effect game and the mentioned DLC content?
Original Post:
Apparently the rumor is that EA will make a big announcement about the franchise coming over to the PS3. As reported by Scrawlfx, a user on NeoGAF claims to have knowledge on this announcement which will be made tomorrow.
It seems that the thread started after some Spanish sites (Meristation, Vandal, etc…) started reporting that Mass Effect was coming to PS3 recently. Since Gamescom is held in Europe, folks in that territory may have a jump on some conference water cooler talk.
A NeoGAF member named De-Mon claims that Sony or EA will be announcing the game either tomorrow or in a few weeks via a print magazine. He claims that he has more info but can’t reveal anything officially. He also claims that the PS3 game will be titled – Mass Effect: Genesis.
There is some speculation that Genesis would only contain the second Mass Effect title with new DLC. If true this could be due to a contractual agreement between Microsoft and Bioware before being acquired by EA. Its all pure speculation at this point, but considering that EA and Sony are in bed these days I wouldn’t be surprised.

we all knew it was happening, MS was stupid not to buy the IP.
August 16th, 2010
Technically it is tomorrow… but I’ll go out on a limb and guess this will happen.
August 17th, 2010
@b0xel “MS was stupid” They go hand in hand really.

I’ve been calling this for a while now. I’ll believe it when I see it.

Why would anyone want an out dated xbox title when the ps3 ( even ps2) has better games?

Why would anyone want an out dated Bioware titles when the ps3 ( even ps2) has better games?
Fixed.
answer:
Because they are good titles and not everyone has a PC that can handle it or a 360.
August 17th, 2010
“Why would anyone want an out dated Bioware titles when the ps3 ( even ps2) has better games?”
Because someone, somewhere, feels pity for Sony fanboys.

@Norman
“I won’t get it anyway”
Typical comment from the resident troll.
@everyone else
I think this is a great news for PS3. At this stage though I think it should be bundled in with Mass Effect 2.
There are just some games that deserve to be played by gamers, regardless of what console they own and this is one of them.
August 17th, 2010
I getting ME1 as a gift and I already have L4D2 for 360…..this will make my 360 purchase a waste of money.
I’ll gladly purchase L4D2 again for PS3 since I dont have gold anymore and Gold will probably cost me just as much as getting the game on PS3.
August 17th, 2010
@CON
good post.
I agree. ME1 and ME2 should be packaged together and labeled Genesis, with ME3 coming to both day and date.
August 17th, 2010
Yeah I totally agree. It’s awesome that your decisions from the first title heavily effect the sequel.
Maybe that’s why they call it Mass Effect…. get it? OK, I’ll stop now.
August 17th, 2010
I like having my decisions in ME weigh so heavily into everything like that. I can’t wait for ME3
Before ME i’ve never seen a game have such gravity with your actions like that.
August 17th, 2010
“Before ME i’ve never seen a game have such gravity with your actions like that.”
Golden Sun…..
August 17th, 2010
I’ve played the first Golden Sun, but I don’t think your actions held quite the same weight as they do in ME
August 17th, 2010
Golden Sun was awsome BTW. I’ve always wanted to play GS2 but never got it.
I have heard that there will be a new Golden Sun for DS, which sounds cool
August 17th, 2010
After doing some “reasearch” it seems there are only a few things that transfer between Golden Sun and GS: The Lost Age.
Gold, Djinns, Character levels, and items. Nothing else that really affects the game, cept maybve a few quests and items that can only be accessed if you have certain items from the first game

If you put that money to live you can play online with the copy you have and any other live game you have.
August 17th, 2010
For 1 year anyway. Then you will have nothing to show for your money.

August 17th, 2010
Damn all this talk about ME and I am going to have to play it again.
August 17th, 2010
Ncaissie,
Quit being a butthead. Mass Effect 2 is a pretty decent game. I’m glad it’s coming to the Ps3. It will be cool that it will be on one disc. Hopefully, they will include some bonus Ps3 content.
August 17th, 2010
Harry Portter using Kinect.
LMAO…the game is on-rails and you see the person moving his arms to cast spell and character in the game doesnt do anything.
August 17th, 2010
lol so I just popped ME back into my Xbox for the first time since 8/23/2008. Kinda funny how it’s now 8/17/2010. 5 days short of exactly 2 years lol
Anyway. I played through ME 1 once as a Soldier.
I have both DLCs. Bring down the sky and Pinnacle Station. I played through BDtS but PS was released after I stopped playing.
My achievements are 22/46 for 570/1050 Gamerscore.
I need too many damn achievments lol

It says ME. So if Uncharted 1 went to the 360 would you cum in your jeans? Lol probably not.

Microsoft Takes Wraps Off Windows Phone 7 Games
If Apple’s always taken an “if you must” stance toward gaming on the iPhone, Microsoft’s attacking from the opposite angle, making gaming front and center on its Windows Phone 7.
At the GDC Europe 2010 games conference in Cologne, Germany today, Microsoft took the tarp off a who’s-who of game studios, all on track to release games for its upcoming powerhouse handheld. Studios like Gameloft (Hero of Sparta), Konami (Metal Gear Solid, Castlevania), Namco Bandai (Tekken, Soul Calibur), PopCap (Bejeweled, Plants vs. Zombies), and THQ (Company of Heroes, Dawn of War II).
Those five and others will reportedly contribute some 60 games to Windows Phone 7, including Assassin’s Creed, Bejeweled LIVE, Castlevania, Crackdown 2: Project Sunburst, Frogger, Guitar Hero 5, Halo Waypoint, a cutesy slice of new IP weirdly titled ilomilo, Max and the Magic Marker, Rocket Riot, Splinter Cell Conviction, Star Wars: Conviction (and another Star Wars–Battle for Hoth), The Harvest, Tower Bloxx NY, Uno, and Zombie Attack!.
The games will be available through the company’s Xbox LIVE Marketplace, which Microsoft revealed back in February would be part of its Windows Phone 7 series. At that time, Microsoft claimed the Windows Phone 7 Series would deliver “the first and only official Xbox LIVE experience on a phone, including Xbox LIVE games, Spotlight feed and the ability to see a gamer’s avatar, Achievements and gamer profile.”
Demonstrations of the service seem to jibe with those earlier claims. The phone does indeed offer fully realized avatars (they look essentially identical to their Xbox LIVE counterparts) and these can be fully reclothed or accessorized. Achievements, profiles, friend lists (with status), and scoreboards, i.e. leaderboards are all present and accounted for, rendering said information in realtime.
“We believe that no matter where life takes you, the best in gaming and entertainment should follow,” said Microsoft Xbox LIVE VP Marc Whitten in a press release. “Windows Phone 7 takes a different approach to handheld gaming, utilizing Xbox LIVE, Microsoft Game Studios, leading game publishers, and innovative indie developers, to create powerful, shared experiences for everyone.”
New games for the Windows Phone 7 will reportedly appear every week via Xbox LIVE Marketplace, mirroring the way the service already works for Xbox 360 owners. “Try before you buy” demos will be available to let you sample before spending. And while realtime multiplayer isn’t (yet) in the offing, turn-based multiplayer should be available at at launch.
The differences between Microsoft and Apple here are striking. Where Apple opens the door on its products, then passively observes as game studios and/or independent designers flock to the trough, Microsoft’s bringing its own thunder and proactively courting major studios to design to the Windows Phone 7 platform, much as it would its Xbox–or Sony and Nintendo would their respective consoles.
It’s tough to say how well the Windows Phone 7 will work as just a phone or personal information management tool when it ships in October, but when it comes to gaming, Microsoft’s already well ahead of Apple in terms of focusing, laser-like, on the platform’s gaming possibilities. With Crackdown 2: Project Sunburst and Halo: Waypoint in the mix, it’s clear Microsoft’s (wisely) planning to leverage its existing console IPs to at the very least make the phone immediately appealing to anyone with an Xbox 360.

MASS EFFECT 2 TO PS3 THIS JANUARY!!!
August 17th, 2010
Confirmed @ GamesCon
Mass Effect 2 Coming to PS3 on January 2011.
August 17th, 2010
“I’d probably cum in his jeans. ”
? Who is his?
August 17th, 2010
It would be nice if ME1 was also part of this announcement.
Well. That’s a Huuuuuge coup. Arguably The 360′s best exclusive game is coming to the PS3.
This would be like MS getting Uncharted 2.
August 17th, 2010
Master Ferro broke the news first! … well second technically.
August 17th, 2010
“Mass Effect 2 Coming to PS3 on January 2011.”
That would be ok. Not sure if I would get it though. My plate is full with all the awesome games Sony is coming out with.
August 17th, 2010
@Mike
You should probably remove Rumor and add an update to this story rather than a brand new one that will split the posts.
August 17th, 2010
“This would be like MS getting Uncharted 2.”
Uncharted 2 could not be done on the 3shity without destroying the game play and graphics.
August 17th, 2010
It would be half ass if PS3 only got ME2 and not 1 as well.
You gotta be able to play ME1 as well to get the full ME experience.
@Everyone here who played ME1 and ME2
Imagine what you would miss if you only played ME2… wow lol

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1
EA just announced at its GamesCom 2010 conference that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 for Xbox 360 will magically lift butts off of couches, with some Kinect support. EA didn’t put it exactly the same way, of course. The game features an on-rails mode in which players gesture to cast spells, moving automatically from location to location, and competing to achieve the highest score.
This would explain why Walmart offered Deathly Hallows: Part 1 in pre-order Kinect bundles. The game has, however, since been removed from the promotion.
August 17th, 2010
@phranc
“Long Elevator loadings”
Wow, which would be alot worse on PS3 lmao.
But besides the loading screens there is alot of great gameplay and you would miss alot of the story if you just played ME2
August 17th, 2010
@CAD
I saw the video…..
Harry Portter using Kinect.
LMAO…the game is on-rails and you see the person moving his arms to cast spell and character in the game doesnt do anything.
On rails Harry Potter with massive lag is just what we needed.
August 17th, 2010
@Fahkin
I’m sure a video or something will catch people up on the story.
I agree with you though. They should have did 1 and 2 on one disc at a reduced price in preparation for ME3.
August 17th, 2010
Roca
So what’s wrong with that. You make it sould like On-Rails is a bad thing. The whole game is not like that is only parts of the game. Sounds cool to me.
August 17th, 2010
@CAD
I was reading the neogaf comments during the EA demonstrations. Boy was that on rails game getting some laughs.
Here’s some of the comments.
-Holy shit that lag is astronomical
-wow, kinect reminds me of the powerglove.
its so bad
-HARRY POTTER ON RAILS!
-Man I can’t watch… Too embarrasing.
-Omg… its not working XD like 90% of the kinect games
-On rails and laggy as shit. Yep Kinect is gonna be awesome!
-Huzzah, the future of games is on rails.
-harry potter kinect looks so horrible – like gaming for the brain dead – but with immense input lag.
-That’s the magic of Kinect.
August 17th, 2010
@phranc
If it was ME1 and 2 + DLC they wouldn’t even need to sell it at a reduced price. It would still be worth $60.
Funny moment here..
So I just started a new playthrough in ME1. I’m obviously missing quite a few achievements. including First Aid Specialist (use medi-gel 150 times)
So I start playing and as soon as I use a medi-gel the aach unlocks lmao. I must have used it 149 times in my first play through lol
August 17th, 2010
According to Wikipedia…part 1 was published by M$ Game Studios
August 17th, 2010
Apparently ME1 was published by Microsoft so ME1 may never come to the PS3. Kinda sucks because ME1 was a great game and so much back story is missed not playing it.
August 17th, 2010
@Fahkin.
LOL. At least you don’t have to think about it any more.
August 17th, 2010
@CAD
Ninja Gaiden 2 was published by MS and we got Ninja Gaiden 2 Sigma….
just saying.
August 17th, 2010
Wow good point.
But admittedly I think that was a loophole created by the Sigma branding. It was kind of a dick move on Tecmo’s part.
I don’t see Bioware doing that though.
August 17th, 2010
Man, I have all the Tech/Biotic ability related achievements to get. Kill 150 with sniper rifles… Beat the game twice, beat it on hardcore… And the ones for completeing 70% of the game with specific characters lol… I have several playthroughs before i can 100% ME1
August 17th, 2010
@FahKin
Even Bioware said you dont need to play ME1 to enjoy ME2. ME2 is its own game and if you didnt play the first one then you would not even notice the difference. Bioware even said that they develop ME2 as part of the trilogy but also as a stand alone game. They also said that there is a lil back story in the beginning of ME2. I’m pretty sure you would still love ME2 even you had never play ME1
I know alot of ppl that either didnt play ME1 or stopped playing half way through the game because it was as accessible as ME2. They liked ME2 much better.
August 17th, 2010
Just cause a company publishes a game doesn’t mean it has full rights
August 17th, 2010
Microsoft published ME1 but Bioware owns the IP and the tech. they probably don’t feel the need to work on ME1 because ME1 might discourage ppl from playing ME2 (ME1 not being as good as ME2).
August 17th, 2010
@Phranc,
Good point, I was actually thinking the same -
Mass Effect 1 = Mass Effect: Genesis?
Ninja Gaiden 2 = Ninja Gaiden: Sigma?
reference:
Tecmo circumvents exclusive deal with Microsoft for Xbox 360
August 17th, 2010
@Roca
Maybe the could redo ME1 with the engine and graphics from ME2. Could work.
Alot of assets could be reused. Alot of characters in ME2 are also in 1.
August 17th, 2010
@BJ
“I don’t see Bioware doing that though.”
EA loves money. I see them doing that.
@Mike.
Thanks. and nice update
August 17th, 2010
The only thing now is when Mass Effect 3 releases will it be a Timed Exclusive. Looks like it could be a years wait on the PS3.
August 17th, 2010
@Roca
“Microsoft published ME1 but Bioware owns the IP and the tech. they probably don’t feel the need to work on ME1 because ME1 might discourage ppl from playing ME2 (ME1 not being as good as ME2).”
If they’re both packaged together I can’t really see a problem one way or another.
August 17th, 2010
Ncaissie,
Roca just saved me the trouble and posted it. Mass Effect 2 is coming to the Ps3. As far as Uncharted goes, I don’t need this game to come to the Xbox360. This is why I have my 250 gig Ps3 system. Besides, this game will never come to the Xbox360. Even if it did, the game would probably have to be on more then one game disc.
August 17th, 2010
“The only thing now is when Mass Effect 3 releases will it be a Timed Exclusive. Looks like it could be a years wait on the PS3.”
I’m going to bet on NO. Timed exclusives hurt sales. I think they stand to lose more on the that then they would gain otherwise.
August 17th, 2010
Phranctoast
We’ll See.
August 17th, 2010
@phranc
ME3 is still a ways off though. ME1 and 2 were at least 2 years apart. me2 has only been out for what 6 months? So too soon too tell if ME3 will be timed exclusive or not
August 17th, 2010
Remember 360 made the franchise so I bet most likely it will be timed.
August 17th, 2010
@ CAD
Even if it wasn’t timed there wouldn’t be a point in me getting it on PS3 anyway since I already have 1 and 2 on 360 lol
August 17th, 2010
“Remember 360 made the franchise so I bet most likely it will be timed.”
Did Bioshock 2 on the PS3 come out day and date with the 360 version?
/rhetorical question
August 17th, 2010
How about Lost Planet 2 and Dead Rising 2.
Two other games that the 360 “made the franchise”.
August 17th, 2010
@Fahkin
well, obviously, you’d want to carry over your players and other carry over shit. Makes sense.
August 17th, 2010
Actually, Bioware made the franchise!
Bioshock 2 certainly didnt get any timed exclusive deal
August 17th, 2010
@phranc
Well you know that thats going to affect sales between systems since 360 has the initial fan base.
Maybe its just me but going back to ME1 the Geth seem much more badass than they do in 2
August 17th, 2010
Well you might be right but wasn’t there more then enough time to get ME2 on the PS3 when it launched in January this year. I’m just wondering if a deal is already in place hence the year later release of ME2.
August 17th, 2010
So Window 7 Phones are going to be badass come December. Oh I can’t wait to get one. The games look good and it should eventually have turn base Multiplayer games. The wait is almost over.
August 17th, 2010
That really sucks if Mass Effect 1 isn’t being released. Your missing out on about 30 hours of game play and decision making. Is this definitely confirmed that it won’t be released??
There were so many decisions in the first game that spilled into the second which made it so great. I’ve no doubt that bioware will do a fantastic recap before the game starts but half the appeal of Mass Effect is that fact that decisions carry over.
August 17th, 2010
@CAD
who cares…in the end Mass Effect will be on PS3.
one less exclusive for 360. Now Uncharted 2 is back at being the highest rated exclusive between PS3 and 360. I feel your pain

My Predictions aren’t too off the wall huh
August 17th, 2010
@Fak
Def were more badass! Especially because in the first it took you a lot longer to build up your skills and depending on what path you choose you easily found yourself in the thick of it with no training!
August 17th, 2010
I don’t think it’s a deal breaker as long as we get the game that’s all that matters.
August 17th, 2010
Left 4 Dead on PS3 is next….
August 17th, 2010
To me, one of the things that makes the story in the ME games is Joker lol.
August 17th, 2010
Sony should do something nice for their user base and put their hands in their pockets for this one and pay for the rights of ME1. Even if they don’t get much out of the deal, they will get a lot more ME2 sales in the long run.
August 17th, 2010
Here’s some of the big decisions from the first game.
* The decision to save either Kaidan or Ashley.
* Whether or not the player kills Wrex on Virmire.
* Whether or not the player decides to save the Citadel Council at the end of Mass Effect.
* The player’s choice of love interest.
* Whether the player spares or destroys the Rachni Queen at Peak 15.
* The player’s treatment of Conrad Verner.
* Whether or not the player completed the UNC: Asari Diplomacy sidequest.
* Whether the player chose to allow the Alliance to conduct experiments on Nirali Bhatia’s body.
August 17th, 2010
“Left 4 Dead on PS3 is next….”
With the new Valve/Sony relationship, it’s only a matter of time.
August 17th, 2010
Exclusive system titles are fewer these days. It seems that most companies these days would rather put their games on both systems. I wouldn’t be surprised if Left For Dead comes out on the Ps3.
August 17th, 2010
“Exclusive system titles are fewer these days.”
Especially on the 360
August 17th, 2010
^ damn, that was cold
Hopefully LittleBigPlanet 2 won’t come out on 360…wait a min
August 17th, 2010
“Exclusive system titles are fewer these days.”
I don’t have that problem on my ps3:
Heavy Rain
MAG
God of War 3
Modnation Racers
LittleBigPlanet 2
DCUOnline( ah to be fair this one is not really a true exclusive, via PC)
Gran Turismo…..
All in the same damn year….all genre defining, games….
That’s not including any I’ve left out…
August 17th, 2010
you left out a few but that’s ok…don’t throw’em all in their faces at once
August 17th, 2010
In contrast, let see what 360 has this year:
Alan Wake
Splinter Cell Conviction*
Mass Effect 2*( ill add it despite, not being exclusive)
Halo: Reach….
A whopping 4 heavy hitters…1 of which is no longer exclusive, and the other rumored to be coming out on ps3 later this year…
So 2 titles….AW and another Halo……its a wonder that multiplats “sell” better on 360..
August 17th, 2010
Roca, I’m interested in what I’ve left out?
August 17th, 2010
@anyone who has played ME 1 and 2
I just thought about something.
In 2 games i only rememeber ever hearing of 3 Spectres.
1 Nihlus, who is killed by Saren
2 Saren
3 Sheperd, who becomes one during the story
August 17th, 2010
Fable 1, 2 and 3 on PS3, all on a single Bluray disc!!
August 17th, 2010
JoJO
Come on now, even though Mass Effect is not esclusive anymore we all no that when it comes to exclusives the 360 leads in that catagory. Besides Mass Effect will still be better on the 360 because the story was tied together since the first one. Crytek has there Exclusive Kingdom coming and now Square has Gun Loco as an exclusive too. Then there is all the exclusive titles over XBLA like Limbo, Hydro Thunder and more. As nice as it would be to keep Mass Effect Exclusive it’s not a deal breaker because we’ve been thee done that and I truly believe Mass Effect will be a timed exclusive from now on so what good does that do for PS3 1 year later. You can gloat but your still waiting.
August 17th, 2010
Since I’m sure Blorge won’t write about this I might as well make my own news.
Hands on with Xbox LIVE on Windows Phone 7
Pocket-lint gets its paws on Microsoft’s newest gaming venture at Gamescom
As you may have read on Pocket-lint, Microsoft has detailed the games that will be hitting the Windows Xbox LIVE platform upon its launch. And we have now had our hands on some of the titles over at Xbox’s pre-Gamescom event in Cologne.
First impressions are that the platform may well make Microsoft a big hitter in the mobile gaming arena. Not only are the games fairly slick (despite being early development versions), the graphics are above and beyond what we expected when we first heard that Xbox LIVE was coming to Windows Phone 7.
The Xbox LIVE action is available via a hub on the phone’s homescreen, which is animated by the user’s avatar.
When pressed, the WP7 Xbox LIVE interface kicks into action, with the usual array of messages, requests, achievements and customisation options that Xbox 360 users will be used to.
If you haven’t got an Xbox 360, then don’t worry – you can still sign up with a Windows Live ID and, if you do eventually get the console, then your avatar will be carried over.
From the hub you’ll be able to jump into the games you’ve bought, or view the store for ones that you haven’t. Microsoft has announced just over 60 titles so far, although Pocket-lint was told by an Xbox rep that there will be more before the service goes live.
So, can Windows Phone 7 compete with iOS when it comes to gaming? Travis Howland, executive producer for indie titles on Xbox LIVE certainly thinks so. He told Pocket-lint: “I think the Xbox LIVE gaming service, combined with these games and the high quality of the phone, make for a pretty compelling gaming experience”.
“Not only for people with an Xbox LIVE account, but I also think it will introduce a lot of people who don’t currently use gaming with us to get involved with the service.”
Pocket-lint had a bash at several of the Windows Phone 7 games being demoed at Gamescom with ilomilo and Twin Blades most impressing us.
ilomilo, from Southend Interactive, is a 3D-platformer that lets you view in 360-degrees as you walk along the maze-like platforms, collecting tokens and avoiding the nasties. Sure, it’s a simple idea that has been done before, but the gameplay feels very fluid and the visuals are very sharp.
Twin Blades, which we have already seen on other mobile platforms, is an ultra-violent, blood fest zombie shoot / slice-em-up from Press Start. We were thrown in at the deep end on a high level and it was like the pub scene from Shaun of the Dead, albeit a lot more cartoony. There was so much blood on the screen it was hard to see what was going on – but the carnage added to the gameplay.
The Xbox LIVE hub will appear on all Windows Phone 7 devices, and will go live during “the fall”, which should mean around October time.
There is no confirmation yet as to how much the titles are going to cost, but we’re pretty sure that if Microsoft prices them properly – i.e. in line with the costs of iOS titles – then Xbox LIVE on Windows Phone 7 is sure to be cause a big splash. A blood stained one in the case of Twin Blades.

August 17th, 2010
Someone is a cranky pants today. Must be the ME2 announcement.
August 17th, 2010
Well considering that Sony and MS have pretty much reached parity and will likely stay that way for this generation they would be smart to release all their platform exclusives on the other console once they have disappeared into the bargain bin or the sequel is released i.e. Gears 1 & 2 with the release of Gears 3 or Killzone 1&2 with the release of KZ3. Think about it, these previous titles are all now available for peanuts and are hardly earning them any money any more on the original platform, but they could sell a whole load at RRP on the other console and possibly tempt more people into buying their console if they get hooked on the franchise and want to play the latest release as well. Overall more sales for all parties involved. And good for gamers as the potential market for a game has now nearly doubled meaning it is easier to make them profitable.
August 17th, 2010
Nice
a Co Op Ratchet and Clank game and Resistance 3 announcement.
Win friggin Win!!!!!!
August 17th, 2010
Eternal Sonata
Ninja Gaiden II
Oblivion
Vampire Rain
Virtua Fighter 5
Star Ocean: The Last Hope
^ are not exclusive.
then you have all the those titles that are available on PC, PS2 and Wii whihc are “multiplatform” games.
But even then were are talking about “quality” exclusive not crappy titles that no cares about. If we did the wii would be the Winner.
who bought a 360 for these titles?
Bass Pro Shops: The Strike (Ubisoft)
Divinity 2: Ego Draconis (Larian Studios)
Magna Carta II (Namco Bnadai)
Velvet Assassin (Gamecock)
Zoids Assault (Atlus
You’re In The Movies (Codemasters)
……..and all the rest
Exclusive means “only available exclusively for one platform”
August 17th, 2010
if you are counting titles from when the PS3 wasn’t even on the market, would you want me to make a list of all those weird Japanese exclusive on PS3. It will certainly make destroy your pathetic list of crappy games.
August 17th, 2010
Highlights for today for PS3
-Mass Effect 2 (Jan 2011)(ME3 day and date with 360 release highly probable)
-Ratchet and Clank: All four one (Fall 2011)
-Resistance 3
August 17th, 2010
Also not exclusive:
-Tales of Vesperia (the new Tales is only for PS3 btw)
-Blitz: The League (PS2 and PSP)
-Tomb Raider Legend
-Tomb Raider Anniversary
-TMNT
-Spider-Man: Friend or Foe
-Rayman Raving Rabbids
-Space Chimps
…. why am I bothering. There’s a lot more. Yes CAD, you certainly proved your point. What was that point again?
August 17th, 2010
I enjoyed Hit-man: Blood Money on PS2 lol.
Carl b always does the something when counting 360 exclusives. You guys count the early 360 games which were PS2 ports.
Technically they weren’t on PS3, but there not exclusives or current gen games.
August 17th, 2010
@Phranc
Microsoft’s conference was a ghost town.
August 17th, 2010
@BJ
now with Mass Effect 2 being a multiplatform game, the average review score for 360 2010 exclusives just went down hill. LMAO
August 17th, 2010
lol
August 17th, 2010
CAD
I usually reserve this for folks like HH….but it seems your back to yer old self:
You are an idiot…
Its sad that, on your first list, you have to bring in arcse titles, in order to compete with the quantity of exclusives sony has over ms….let’s take a look at each consoles heavy hitting franchises:
360:
Gears of War
Halo
Fable
Forza
Too Human….
Viva pinata
Mass Effect
7, best selling, AAA games…..
PS3:
God of War
Killzone
Uncharted
Ratchet and Clank
Wipeout
Motorstorm
MLB The Show
Infamous
Resistance
LittleBigPlanet
Modnation Racers
Heavy Rain
SOCOM
MAG
Heanly Sword
Lair
Vs 16…….
These are games found ONLY on the PS3….no where else….at least 2-3 of the 360 can be considered non exclusive
August 17th, 2010
““Exclusive system titles are fewer these days.”
Especially on the 360 ”
Only on the 3shitty.
August 17th, 2010
Wow Resistance, InFamous, All four One, and LBP 2 trailers were all awesome!
I especially liked the Resistance trailer. Looks like it might continue and build upon the excellent co-op.
August 17th, 2010
@Jojo
Take Too Human, Lair & ModNation out of that list, they didn’t sell well. Add L4D for 360.
It’s not like it’s going to make any differnce but at least let’s give them ‘hope’
btw, Modnation Racers is too new to put it among the best selling PS3 excluisves.
August 17th, 2010
KillZone 3 trailer was great also.
Why the hell do people re-buy the same repackaged COD game every year?
August 17th, 2010
@CAD
This year alone lets compare the “new” games annoucements from Sony and MS.
MS:
>Gears of War 3
>Codename Kingdoms
Sony:
>Socom 4
>LB2
>Motormstorm 3
>Infamous 2
>Sly Collection
>Twisted Metal
>Killzone 3
>Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One
>Resistance 3

August 17th, 2010
@CAD W7
“The value of Live is less clear cut: For a start, Live users aren’t tha numerous. MS has sold around 42million 360s in total, with 25million Live members, and around HALF of them using Gold accounts..”
So much for the value of Live eh?!
Arstechnica…
W7 looks strong, but, and read the article, even if all gold members bought a W7 phone, it wouldn’t be enough to make it successful…lmao…this is why:
Apple has sold more than 8million iphones in just the last 2 quarters, it will sell more than there are live users by end of this year, and in 18months, more than there are 360s….that’s just the 4g mind you…
And that’s not even bringing into account Android and RIM, the current market share leaders…RIM and Android are fighting for the top spot, with apple really just waiting for iphone numbers…..MS is a DISTANT 4th place and will continue to drop until and if W7 takes off…..
CAD, just a an fyi, its one my job taskto follow these types of market trends, your funny little article link…leaves a whole lot of information out….MS has a HUGE uphill battle, think everest, to gain back market share…..it certainly looks good, but as of right jow, between apple, android, releasing their new products, with new products coming around the holidays, and more deals, and rim finally coming into full touch screen market….ms has a tsunami of competition to overcome…
August 17th, 2010
Ennlven Kinect lineup looks shitty compare to Move’s lineup
Move: 55+ titles
Kinect: 20+ titles
now even MAG &Dead Space 2 will support Move
August 17th, 2010
@ This story: LMFAO!!!!! HAHAHAHA And all the xbots flat out denied this! PMSL! Shame that the only 360 game that mathces Uncharted 2 in the scores is now a Multiplatform game lol. This made me laugh.
Already have it for the 360 so I won’t buy again unless it has more features.
August 17th, 2010

ENOUGH OF THE FUCKING LISTS!!!
This is a great game. Enjoy it!
@OLD
Oh look it’s the holocaust denier.
August 17th, 2010
@ CON
Oh look it’s the terrorist supporter.
August 17th, 2010
LOL @ CAD, most of the games on your shitty list are also on the PC, which does not make them exclusive.
LOL LOL LOL you are such a fucking douche.
August 17th, 2010
And I support terrorists how?
Fuck off and crawl back under your stone you racist cunt.
August 17th, 2010
How? Ok here goes:
You hate Soldiers and you gloat everytime the Taliban kill a Soldier, so you obviously support the opposition which are terrorists.
Don’t see how I’m racist when a hell of a lot of my friends a Fijian and Jamaicans. So you fuck off and crawl back into your mums crack den.
August 17th, 2010
are Fijian*
August 17th, 2010
Well considering the british helped create the Taliban they deserve everything they get.
You can talk about your so called “friends” all you like. You and me know otherwise. Fact is you’re a racist holocaust denier.
Just this week you came out with
“in case anyone wonders what LSHMTUAFIMC stands for, it is:
‘Laugh so hard my Turban unravels and falls into my curry’ lol.”
August 17th, 2010
Typical BNP comment
August 17th, 2010
‘in case anyone wonders what LSHMTUAFIMC stands for, it is’
LMFAO! Yeah that is kinda funny though, I got it off a facebook group. I ain’t racist, I ain’t malicious in those sort of jokes. I joke like that with my mates all the time and they with me. They don’t get upset by it and nor do I. Plus they have more right than you to get upset by them sort of jokes. You ain’t even black so wind your neck in you little bitch. Your one of those too PC little gay boys who complain about fucking everything, just because your life is so shit. Seriously man get a life and stop being such a cock.
August 17th, 2010
@oldschool
Valve will announce something big about L4D and L4D2 this week.
Can we say L4D on PS3??? LOL
August 17th, 2010
@ Roca: I’ve never really been interested in L4D tbh mate. I ain’t really interested in ME2 for the PS3, I just think it’s hilarious how some Xbots flat out denied it would happen and it was their highest rated exclusives. It did tickle me lol.
August 17th, 2010
Oldschool,
Lol. I see you’re going to rub it in good.
I played the demo of the Left For Dead game. It seemed like a pretty fun game.
August 17th, 2010
I never played a Mass Effect. I don’t know, it just doesn’t appeal to me. TBH I don’t think I would’ve missed anything if I didn’t have a 360… maybe the gears, but I hear its on the PC…
BTW, I’m building a new rig for starcraft2 ( and because it gives me pleasure to waste money on all those shiny PC components)
so far I have everything I need, but I can’t decide which motherboard to get, right now I’m considering the Asus Rampage II Extreme…., any thoughts?
August 17th, 2010
Only rubbing it in for CON and HH, they’re the ones whoe denied this happening lol.
August 17th, 2010
LSHMTUAFIMC
lmfao.
I’m not racist by the way, I fucking hate everyone.
August 17th, 2010
LMAO @ Rhino: I like that joke lol. CONS just a boring cunt with no life who hates everything.
August 17th, 2010
@ Roca
Don’t forget games of our allies from the Land of Godzilla!
> Final Fantasy Versus XIII

August 18th, 2010
“Microsoft has responded to today’s announcement of Mass Effect 2 coming to PlayStation 3. The game first launched in January 2010 for Xbox 360 and PC, and is now headed to PS3 a year later in January 2011.
“With both Mass Effect titles launching first on Xbox 360 combined with the wealth of available paid downloadable content on Xbox Live today, Xbox 360 remains the best place to experience the Mass Effect franchise,” a representative said in a statement given to IGN.
Mass Effect 1, first published by Microsoft in 2007, will remain exclusive to Xbox 360.
“And the original Mass Effect is absolutely an Xbox 360 exclusive, making Xbox 360 the only place to get the full Mass Effect experience,” the company added.”

Rhino,
I’ll add you when I get back from University.
PEWPEWPEW!!! Roca you are my biatch.
August 18th, 2010
IGN should really rename itself to something like “Xbox IGN”.
I swear, gaming journalists try pushing their agendas worse than any political journalist.
At least political commentators make their stance clearly known. Sites like IGN and Kotaku hide their fanboy agendas by posing as gamers. When in fact they don’t care about games at all. They only care about making the 360 and Wii look good.
August 18th, 2010
Phranctoast
Well there you go, you got Mass Effect 2 but your missing the full experience because ME1 won’t come to the PS3 which sucks. I have both right now and I’m playing through ME1 and I refuse to put ME2 in the tray because my experience carries over and that’s a big part of the game. At least you get to play ME2 which is OK but it’s only piece of the pie which really does not make sense. So basically the full experience can only be had on the 360 which makes this announcemnt not such a good thing if your a PS3 owner. Oh Well Enjoy what your allowed to play with.
August 18th, 2010
‘The whole ‘you’re missing out!’ arguement is a little silly imo. I never kept my ME1 savegame and I can’t say it destroyed my experience because it didn’t. Still, I kept my ME2 savegame in case they ever feel like releasing ME3 on PC someday.
The only sad part about not getting ME1 is that you can’t whine about the stuff they ruined in ME2.
August 18th, 2010
Sorry, I meant ‘streamlined’ not ruined…
August 18th, 2010
“‘The whole ‘you’re missing out!’ arguement is a little silly imo. I never kept my ME1 savegame and I can’t say it destroyed my experience because it didn’t”
THANK YOU!!
August 18th, 2010
I actually think MS should sell the rights to Sony because it’s totally ruins the experience of the second without the first as so many decisions follow through. At the end of the day the game is 3 years old so it’s not as if MS are making any money for it.
August 18th, 2010
it*
August 18th, 2010
I think thats why ME1 doesn’t matter to me. It was a while ago and all I can remember is I killed wrex and tried to bang ashley (I think). I believe both of those are ‘canon’ in the ME universe anyways (the default settings if you had no save as I did).
In the end I found the ME2 storyline lacking, the gameplay was nice tho. But I will say, not a fan of ‘heat clips’, Ill take the sub machine gun with infinite ammo & cooldown periods over one with a limited supply of ‘heat clips’
Oh, and removing all/most the RPG elements blew too.

And yet my friend Islam(real name) thinks it’s hilarious and even joined the group. CON why don’t you do every one a favor and fuck off and die, I don’t think any one would miss you.

@ CON^^^

@old
Incredible how low you will sink. Bet it took you all of 30 seconds to find that name from the site. I suppose “Islam” is a is a big follower of the racist holocaust denying BNP also…………
What’s his second name? Hater??
August 20th, 2010
That is his 2nd name retard, He is in my regiment and he just laughed at your comment and told me to say ‘Your an inbred, cum guzzling shit breath’ lmao. Btw his 1st name is Kyle and yes he is a full Muslim so don’t bother trying to say he ain’t. Your just a full on twat CON. Plus he knows I wanted to vote BNP, all my mates do and some of them did, even some black lads. It’s not about hating black people at all, I have no idea where you get that from, maybe their past but that’s not what they stand for 1st. It’s Jobs for English people 1st …that’s it. Make up shit about them all you like or post something about their past but I couldn’t give a fuck because your clutching at straws calling me a racist when I probably have more black and Asian friends than you do. Get a life CON, your pathetic.

‘Bet it took you all of 30 seconds to find that name from the site’
And there you are again, thinking everyone gets all their information from the internet. Maybe you do because you have no life but I actually have friends with actual names that I don’t find online. Pmsl your a joke.

Called this a while back in saying it would likely be exclusive for about a year… the only surprise I had was that 1 is still exclusive.
August 20th, 2010
Type your little stories about your so called friends all you want if it makes you feel better.
I don’t need to make shit up. BNP are proven holocaust deniers and you support them. End of.

“Called this a while back in saying it would likely be exclusive for about a year… the only surprise I had was that 1 is still exclusive.”
That’s why when I first heard of Mass Effect Genesis it sounded like a way to get them out of the exclusive deal like Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2.

Sounds like a reasonable theory to me.
August 20th, 2010
I don’t think Bioware is going to waste time and money to work on a 3-year old game.
August 20th, 2010
I doubt it would take that much time or money at all.
August 20th, 2010
but it will
August 20th, 2010
When I left
Roca and Cad still posting lists,
Con and OS still bickering about BNP,
2months later
Roca and Cad still posting lists,
Con and OS still bickering about BNP,
Thank god this place hasn’t changed

@ Romastante: Scroll up and you’ll see who starts this shit every single time, the guy is pathetic, I hope he fucking dies, I really do. I’d happily put a few rounds into this fucking rats chest. He fucking hates soldiers, laughs at when my friends get blown up, supports the Tailiban, calls me a racist and yet I have so many multicultural friends in the Army as well who I served on tour with a few time.
And what the fuck is a holocaust denier ffs! I’ve never heard of that, I support BNP for 1 reason and 1 reason only: That I can get a job easier when I leave the Army. Englands jobs are going straight to foreigners, which is fact. Your just a prick CON with a major Chip on your shoulder. Your a fanatic, you’ll be blowing yourself up next.

“but it will”
the money it takes to do a Sigma type rework would pay off in dividends regardless.
