GoG: Good Old Gamer shuts down suddenly
Good Old Gamer (GoG) is a site dedicated to selling classic PC games for dirt cheap prices. Gamers could purchase hard to find titles such as the original Fallout games.
GoG has actually been gaining quite a bit of recognition in the gaming community for its dedication to bringing back these classic titles for dirt cheap prices. The site offers full customer service support and even patches the games so that they can run on your computer.
Despite the site’s growing popularity, GoG suddenly announced its closure today. GoG did not offer much explanation except a short farewell indicating that the site could not continue to operate the way it has been.
Here is the farewell note from the site:
Dear GOG users,
We have recently had to give serious thought to whether we could really keep GOG.com the way it is. We’ve debated on it for quite some time and, unfortunately, we’ve decided that GOG.com simply cannot remain in its current form.
We’re very grateful for all support we’ve received from all of you in the past two years. Working on GOG.com was a great adventure for all of us and an unforgettable journey to the past, through the long and wonderful history of PC gaming.
This doesn’t mean the idea behind GOG.com is gone forever. We’re closing down the service and putting this era behind us as new challenges await.
On a technical note, this week we’ll put in place a solution to allow everyone to re-download their games. Stay tuned to this page and follow us on Twitter and Facebook for updates.
All the best,GOG.com Team
Stay tuned for more information.

I already knew about this, still it’s an awful shame, they were the best option for DD, simply because they didn’t use DRM and removed it from any game that did have it. Still I personally think this is just a reboot or something judging by this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BDRvuKjissQ
