Duke Nukem Forever has long campaign
Duke Nukem Forever may have been a long time coming, but its single player campaign may make up for it. By being, well, long, and taking forever to get through. Etc.
According to LazyGamer, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford was at the Mana Bar in Brisbane, Australia, to talk about and demonstrate Duke Nukem Forever, the game he and his company saved from the scrapheap. He answered some questions from fans and journalists, one of which was about how long the single player campaign will be.
Pitchford stated that it will last around 16-17 hours and compared this to the Call of Duty games by suggesting it’s 2-3 times the length of one of those titles.
I must admit that is a long old campaign for an FPS these days, but then Duke Nukem Forever has been in development for 13 years. So I guess it’s only natural it harks back to a previous era in terms of length. I wouldn’t bet against being harder than most of the current-gen offerings either.

16-17 hours, huh? This game has my attention now.

Yeah yeah we’re heard this all before.
16-17 dev hours = 8-10 player hours.

How about waiting and see how long it is rather then being negative and thinking you know everything? Naw, being a prick is more fun! lol

Damn… 16-17 hours is a long time. If the single player is going to be that packed, wonder what the Multiplayer will be like? Dunno for certain if there will be MP but I can’t see DNF being released without it.
Would especially be awsome if there was some sort of Co-op campaign mode

Hope it doesn’t suck.
When is it going to be released?

@Kushy –
I have never played a game where the ‘developer rated’ hours for a campaign is what they said.
I’m allowed an opinion right?

I agree with SW..

@Roca
yeah, SW is right. Perfect example. Look at when God of War 3 came out.

Yeah GoW 3 was awesome, but way shorter than the first two games.

@SW
Yes of course you are! Lol, sorry my humour was lost on you! I was more agreeing with you then anything!

GOW3 was longer than GOW1. Probably at least 2-3 hours longers. It took me 12 hours to beat GOW3 on my second run but I beat GOW1 in just over 8 hours.

@Kushy – Sorry, I thought you were playing the smart ass.
Blorge needs a ‘red face’ icon.

Too many games get hyped then don’t deliver at launch time!
No worries bro, I was also being a smart ass but I think your attitude was spot on. Too many devs say one thing, then when the games come out it’s another!
