There are just too many games to list and making this list was extremely difficult. There were titles we wanted to squeeze in like Warhawk and Siren: Blood Curse (honorable mentions), but in the end some trimming had to be done. If you are a PS3 owner, or planning on picking one up for the holidays, then these are the games you should definitely consider playing.

FFXIII deserves a spot as a great PS3 game. Not a great FF game, but by any other name would have been praised far more than criticized. It truly is beautiful and cinematic, and only falls short when compared to the greater FF titles.

I completed it grudgingly. If it weren’t a FF game I would have stopped playing in Chapter 3. The game was terrible. Severely limited thanks to the 3rd-60.
The games graphics were stunning but the gameplay was disgraceful.

Why are you still even bothering discussing the merits of Forza vs GT5 with this guy? Gran Turismo is the ultimate simulation racing game end of story. It’s just like the Ps3 vs Xbox360 discussion. One reason for this : in real life people die, they aren’t going to take a corner faster than what they KNOW is safe. If they did there would be a hell of a lot more deaths on the track. Whereas in a game you can fly into a wall at 200mph and just press restart.

“He [Kaz] says that in the game you have the luxury of being able to push the car to 100 per cent, and not worry about going off or hitting anything. But in the real world, you must tone that down to somewhere around 95 per cent, so that you retain a small margin for error. Oh and I have played GT5 now. I was visiting a friend who has it and I did a couple races.
That bumper car shit that kev was talking before is a lie.
The AI racers DO get very stubborn though. It seems like they try to keep their racing lines even more than previous games.

A game with half assed graphics for standard cars which equate to around 3/4 of the games cars. Awful sound effects. Shit damage and bumping car AI!!!!
In Forza you have the option of Arcade or sim i.e. intelligent physics, smart AI and “sim like” damage, realistic sound effects. In gt5 you have arcade or even worse arcade!

Why does everyone say this game was so easy. It was in the beginning, but there were some really tough battles. Actually, I still haven’t beaten the game.

Gran Turismo is the KING of Racing Simulation, no OTHER car racing game has had Nissan or Audii come to them and DESIGN a car from the ground up FOR said companies…That alone renders your ‘engineering’ debate moot…obviously the guys at PD know their shit to have Nissan have them help design the GT-R and Audii ask PD for a prototype…eat shit and die..
On top of this, PROFESSIONAL race drivers actually use GT to practice and memorize their tracks prior to racing why? Because of how close the tracks are to their real life counter parts and how REALISTIC the cars in GT handle to their real life counter parts..

roca and dans- if kaz is stating you can do better than reality, then it’s not realistic… he can make up any excuse he wants, it’s still an excuse.
A game, if truly accurate in physics would be impossible to do this. But we know that the physics in GT5 are more akin to arcade racers like Need For Speed, than a hardcore sim like Forza 3.

Nissan Skyline GT-R…if you are even remotely into cars you would have known this…He helped design the displays that tell the track times and various information…Nissan even gave him a GT-R…
And the Audi was a prototype
Volkswagen even gave him a car for representing them so well….a Golf..
Hes actually a top racer in the SP8 class….and holds a record for..you guessed…the Nurburging Track….

It is not because of the physics that people can go faster than in reality, it is because in a game you have the ability to keep trying again and again at 100% until you nail the corner perfectly. No matter how many times you kill your virtual driver you can still hit restart and try it again. This is a luxury you cannot have in real life. In real life you cannot go at 100% all of the time for fear of crashing and possibly killing yourself hence the slower lap times.

GT5 ..there are a lot of racing games I’d rather play, but I guess it’s good at what it does. even with its many faults
Infamous is ok but nothing special for me
I’ve not played Metal Gear solid 4 or Heavy Rain yet. might try and get a look at them soon
Kind of like the Xbox top 40 list.
A few clangers in there and a couple of great games I think are missing, but thats always going to be the case I guess.

never played Crackdown 1 or 2 so I don’t know.
