Tomb Raider Trilogy coming to PS3

December 19, 2010

Tomb Raider fans are in for a treat, with the series reboot now being joined by a new HD collection making it way onto the PS3. Those who aren’t fans, well, they’re in for a torrid time of it.

The beginning of this month saw the long-rumored Tomb Raider reboot officially announced. A few weeks later and there’s news of another new Tomb Raider release, this one being Tomb Raider Trilogy, a single Blu-ray containing three previously-released titles in the series.

Inadvertently leaked on Amazon Germany before being officially confirmed, Tomb Raider Trilogy will feature HD versions of Tomb Raider: Legend, Tomb Raider: Anniversary, and Tomb Raider: Underworld. There will also be trophy support added, and some bonus content including an XMB theme and two Home avatars.

Tomb Raider Trilogy is being released on March 22, 2011. Whether that’s a day you’ll now be eagerly scribbling in your diary or not will depend whether you have lost your appetite for Lara Croft and her adventures yet or not. And whether you bothered with those three titles when they were released the first time round.

I probably won’t be buying this one. I would prefer it if they went back to the PS1 games like Anniversary did.
