Medal of Honor 2 already in development?

January 8, 2011

It looks like Medal of Honor 2 is already in development, although EA won’t admit as much.

According to a job listing spotted by Gamasutra, Medal of Honor developers Danger Close, an offshoot of EA Los Angeles, is working on a new game.

Danger Close is reportedly “seeking a Lead Gameplay Engineer to work on an unannounced AAA first person shooter title.” The job listing goes on to say, “The title is early in development so this is an opportunity to be a key player on this major title.” The title is likely to be released on the PS3 and Xbox 360 as previous experience on these platforms is a necessity.

As Danger Close was formed specifically to create the single-player portion of the first game, this is surely no game other than Medal of Honor 2.

A sequel isn’t all that surprising as the game was a hit. OK, so nowhere near as big a hit as Call of Duty: Black Ops, but enough of one to warrant taking another bite at the FPS cherry. EA wants a piece of Activision’s action, and it clearly believes Medal of Honor is the way to go in order to achieve this.
