Kinect has “mind blowing” games on way
What would make for a “mind blowing” Kinect game? You’d best ask Robert Scoble.
Microsoft recently claimed Kinect had become the “fastest-selling consumer electronics device in history.” Whether that’s true or just a nice line in hyperbole, Kinect has sold extremely well, better even than the most optimistic estimates suggested it would. The problem is the games so far aren’t exactly must-play, triple-A titles. However, that could be about to change.
According to WinRumors, earlier this month Robert Scoble, who used to work at Microsoft before leaving to become a big-mouthed know-it-all technology blogger (I can talk, I know), tweeted:
Just heard a good rumor: Microsoft is readying a “second wave” of Kinect games in April that will be “mind blowing” my source says. Yeah!
Ignoring the cheesy “Yeah!” this is an interesting piece of news. “Mind blowing” would imply innovative, fun, and suited to hardcore as well as casual gamers. If Microsoft has got Kinect titles which fit those criteria on the way then the motion control market is about to liven up considerably.

PlayStation Suite to come to iPhone and Windows Phone 7?
The PlayStation Suite may bring PlayStation games to iPhones and Windows Phone 7 handsets, as Sony Computer Entertainment CEO Kaz Hirai has hinted.
The PlayStation Suite has only been confirmed for Android phones and the upcoming PSP2, or Sony NGP as it’s also known, but it could also make its way to other platforms like the iPhone’s iOS and Windows Phone 7. Talking as part of a roundtable event, Hirai said that this extended compatibility wouldn’t be there from the start, but has been anything but written off —
“We’re focusing first on Android. There’s also Windows, iOS and so forth, but we don’t have the resources to make it compatible with everything from the start.”
The PlayStation Suite will offer PlayStation 1 games and dedicated Suite titles once it launches. Although the PlayStation Suite will be available across multiple platforms, Sony says that there’ll be a layer of certification involved, guarateeing a certain level of user experience. We expect that the platform will come with a certain set of minimum specs, most likely involving a 1GHz processor, so existing Android owners might need to consider an upgrade.

I was a huge fan of the xcom series on the Amiga / PC. UFO enemy unknown was the best CD32 game ever made
I love the way this game is shaping up, probably the game I look forward to seeing more than any other.
I’m always a little concerned that xcom won’t get released. .it’s one of those games that’s been in development for so long, and sometimes I all goes quiet, then they appear with new stuff. So I won’t hold my breath, but I do look forward to it.
As for Kinect, well I have High hopes for Child of Eden, but I wouldn’t but it for just one game, It will be interesting to see what else is coming.

Out of any of the games listed XCOM and Gears 3 are the only ones we even got a glimpse of gameplay.
I doubt Kingdoms will make a 2011 release. Crytek would really need to be pushing themselves to release two games in one year.
Likely most 360 “exclusives” will also be on the PC too. At least XCOM, Kingdoms, and the First Templar for sure.

Great news for the owners of Kinnect having all of these great exclusive 360 titles on the way. I’m too much of a couch potato to use a Kinnect for much other than vid chats with friends around the world, but apparently a lot of gamers are having a lot of fun with it.

I’m sure the $125 lost on each $600 Ps3 sold hurt Sony. As for Hardware they didn’t see profit until the unit was $299. Costs of the components dropped considerably though even during that first year when the PS3 was $600.
I looked it up and it appears that the PS3 lost about 4.7 Billion since launch.
It’s more than I figured because even if you say Sony lost $125 on each unit sold until it became profitable at 35.7M units (which equals about 4.4B)
MS on the other hand lost 4.2 Billion on the original Xbox, and 1 billion addressing RROD issues.
