Sony answers all questions about the NGP
Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios president, Shuhei Yoshida answered some of the burning questions about the NGP recently. In a FAQ, Yoshida reveals some of the background information about NGP’s inception.
Its a fairly comprehensive list of questions and answers by Yoshida. In it, he answers various questions such as how the device was made and when it was first conceived. It covers pretty much everything you can think of except the number one question of price.
Yoshida revealed that SCE has been working on the NGP since the beginning of 2008. These talks began within the WWS, and revolved around hardware specs, component choices, form factor, connectivity and target audience.
He also revealed that the device was created with just about everyone in mind from casual to hardcore. In addition, the NGP will use a storage medium that far surpasses what the UMD was capable of.
Yoshida also revealed that the input of third party developers outside WWS has been instrumental in making the final design decisions around the NGP. The device actually went through various iterations due to the feedback from various third party studios.
He stated:
It reminded me of the early days of the original PlayStation, when we visited many developers and publishers to get feedback during the development of that product.
It’s almost as if SCE has gone back to basics, which should be a good thing.

I won’t be playing it anytime soon tho. I want to finish Killzone 3 story mode while playing the MP mode, which I really enjoy. Then I think I’ll go back to LBP2.

ME2 – A fast paced, shooter, with stream lined RPG elements. Great story, characters, and dialog.
KZ3 – An awesome shooter. Shorter story, but lots of online replayability.
GT5 – Sim racing. Tons of online and offline gameplay.
Bulletstorm – a goofy third person shooter.

I didn’t like the DA2 demo. The graphics were very aged and the gameplay was too hack ‘n’ slash for me (possibly because I went the guy with the duel-wielding sword/dagger).
It also seemed very button-mashy – I defeated the enemies by hammering X and the occasional triangle to freeze them.

I got my copy of DA2 about 45 mins ago, then I ate lunch. Right now i’m popping online to input all the bonus shit.
Unfortunately the Bioware site is total shit again.
I hate when a company requires you to jump through hoops like this to active stuff.
Before you could just go to the XBL marketplace and input a code like any other. But Now some companies are making you go to their own website and register there and then fill out everything there in order to get your bonus stuff. This doesn’t work so well in some cases.
When I got Mass Effect 2 I had this problem and now im having it again with DA2

Oldschool, you can hate me for three eternities, but I’d like an apology for that. You know this is the reason our quarrel began, and I personally don’t care how you feel about me, but as I said before– I’ve no reason to lie about anything.
On topic–
Ncaissie, I personally would prefer if you got GT5 or ME2. That way, everyone would be caught up in the ME story– It’s awesome, it’s fun, it’s deep and regardless to all the arguments about it, it’s one of the best games of all time. Even Roca can admit that. I think.
GT5 is a great option. It has it’s flaws, but if you want a great driving sim with an extremely large amount of content and beautiful graphics– Get Forza 3.
OK that was a joke.
Seriously GT 5 is your best bet, and we pretty much all have it and are enjoying it. Except Roca. He just doesn’t want to play it lol

I immediately deleted the DA demo, after, oh, 15 minutes. Perhaps I was fooling myself into thinking combat would be similar to ME2 (just with swords), but Jesus! I was dissatisfied with the combat system, and for the level you are on, the demo is VERY difficult. But I have to admit– the character models were on par or above ME2′s, and the dialogue system is better than ME2′s.
It also looks as if character customization is deeper than Mass Effect. It’s worth checking out if you’re a fantasy fan, but I won’t be getting this game…

a lot of people are complaining that DA2 is less strategic and tactical than DA:O.
I’ve actually read complaints from fans that it’s too similar to ME2 with swords now (which is not true at all, thankfully).
Too RPG for some, too action for others. I think the new battle system works well. It’s basically the same as DA:O, but now you have a base attack while you wait for cool down timers.
You can’t just run and gun, like ME2. You need to pause, and asses your situation, make the best discussions possible. THAT is what makes an RPG great.

I can understand that. I just felt the “X” attack was too weak (I was a female Knight, or whatever choice was in the middle). When I got to the big Ogre, I was toast. I tried 3 times.
One thing I find better than ME, is when you die, you become your squadmates. ME3 NEEDS this. I want to be Jack damnit!

In fact, I told Roca what I was going to do before the game came out for PS3, and that’s when the whole “Demon’s Souls is harder/better than Mass Effect on Insanity” bit began. I even told you yesterday that I intentionally played Hardcore first under the impression I was going to keep my weapons for the Insanity run through, but unlike the 360 version, you don’t get to keep your weapons for some reason….

I also explained yesterday that I haven’t paid for Live since Feb 2010– It clearly states the last game I’ve played whilst a gold member was Mass Effect 2, February 26, 2010. You most likely will continue to believe I’m lying, because, as far as I can see, I will not be renewing my Live subscription, so it won’t update. I mean, this is evident– I don’t even pay for PS Plus. I hardly play my 360, so I’ll be damned if I pay for something I don’t use.

It doesn’t load until after the creds… it’s not like PS3. The game recognises you imported after you beat it, for the achievement anyway and after the creds.
At least, that’s since Feb.
Besides, I have Forza achievements, Reach achievements (not from my original copy), Batman achievements and a shit ton more Dead Space achievements, but they don’t show up because I haven’t updated Live. You honestly think Feb 26, 2010 was the last time I played my 360? Come on….

Correct. However farfetched it may sound, yes.
This was the time I was using my Original white 360, and I had to manually remove the ethernet cable to connect my PS3, which I had just gotten (I had an 80 gig that I sold, and I’d just bought a 120, which I’ve been using to this day) about two months prior.
I eventually got a router, but I decided to never pay for Live again by then. My new 360 S is WiFi, but I have never connected it to my internet, because although I have RoadRunner, it experiences MAJOR slowdown because we have 3 laptops, my PS3, my mum’s TV and a dinosaur connected to my internet. Since I don’t pay for Live, there was no point entering the WEP into the new 360…
I know it sounds funny, but damn, at the time I didn’t expect to have to prove what I’d done then. If I had the foreknowledge, I sure would have.

My B-Spec level is like 33 or something. Which is mostly because of the absolute legend that Rhino is – he keeps on racing my guy in his remote races. Thank you, Rhino.
