New team-based Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City detailed
Leaked details of the long-rumored new Resident Evil game have come to light from scans via the OXM and OPM magazines. As previously rumored the new game will be co-developed by Slant Six Games along with Capcom.
The game will be a team-based shooter with up to four players taking on hordes of zombies. According to the article, Capcom revealed that there will be three factions – US Spec Ops, Umbrella Security Services (USS) and bio-organic monsters.
The publisher also revealed that Operation Raccoon will be much more violent then any of the previous Resident Evil games. Also, the game allows you to interact and meet with various iconic characters from the Resident Evil series such as Leon Kennedy. In addition to meeting these characters you have the option to kill them in a fight changing the future outcome of the game.
The story revolves around Umbrella sending in an elite team to destroy all proof of the outbreak, and that includes killing survivors. The U.S. government sends in its own special forces to expose Umbrella and uncover the truth.
The game sounds very promising as Capcom plans on delivering a persistent conflict between the zombies, USS and US Spec Ops team presumably with an overarching meta story. Stay tuned for more information on the game, which is set to hit this winter across the Xbox 360 and PS3.

Lol @ Ivan. Well, at least Xbox360 has Gears Of War. Besides this game, there is no other game that is coming out on Xbox360 that I want to play that isn’t also coming out on Ps3. In fact, Ps3 is even getting the better version of Mortal Kombat. Kratos alone is worth the price of admission to the Ps3 version of this game. Kratos fits in quite well in the Mortal Kombat universe.

As someone who broke down and actually bought a Wii and DS… I have absolutely no interest in the 3DS.
I bought a DS and own a total of 2 games – one of which came with the system.
I might pick up a few cheap DS games down the road at sometime. I have no interest in playing a DS that will give me migraines and destroy my vision.

No Resident Evil character can be called the ‘main’ character, original main characters, maybe but there has been that many who have been the ‘main’ for certain Resi games that I think no single character can be called the main one.

graphics are stunning as well, prettier than K3 but I don’t think it’s technically better. Killzone is designed to be barren and dark.
Crysis 2 is one of the best FPS I have ever played, loving every second of it. Think I’m near the end of it now, which is a shame

In the original RE, Chris’s story is canon, RE2 Claire is looking for Chris, in RECV Chris shows up to rescue his sister, RE5 is all about Chris.
Hell, Leon has never even met the main antagonist in any game.

Nah. Chris WAS one of two main characters in the first game, along with Jill.
Leon was one of two in Resi 2 along with Claire.
Jill was the main in the 3rd.
Chris was once again one main of two in Code Veronica along with Claire.
Leon was main in the 4th.
Chris was yet again one of two main characters in the 5th along with Sheva. He has never had a game where he is THE main character.
If anything Leon and Jill are the mains as they have had a whole game where they are THE main characters.
If I had to pick out of those two, I would pick Jill, she has had a game where she is the only main character, Wekser is also her nemisis and she seems to have been through more shit than the others(the red chest eye thing).
She was also one of the mains in the DLC for Resi 5, Lost in Nightmares and Desperate Escape. So if we’re being technical, she has had more face time than any other character.
That’s my ‘opinion’ anyway.

If you mean a game where you don’t play any amout of time as any other player canon-wise, Chris is the only one to do so in RE1 & RE5. (Yeah you can play as Sheva, but that isn’t canon). In Nemesis, you play as Jill AND Carlos Olivera, in canon.

Nah, totally, 100% disagree. I think Jill is more of a main character. Even the people who made the movies seem to agree, Chris didn’t even turn up until Afterlife(shit film). Jill’s been in it since Apocalypse.
As for Resident Evil 1(game), I always played as Jill, so to me Chris don’t have much to do with the first.
Sheva was just as important as Chris, the whole point of the game was the co-op.

Me too, except Afterlife. That film is fucking terrible! I was extremely gutted by how shit it is, the WHOLE film is in slow motion. Slow motion was cool 15 years ago now it drags the film on to long. If they cut out all the slow mo the film would be about 40 minutes long haha. It had slow motion shots of people blinking ffs!
