In an interview, Valve revealed that Portal 2 almost became a prequel with many of the fan favorite characters gone from the game. However, a final decision was made to turn the game into a proper sequel.

As Sony’s PSN breach saga continues, the company today clarified some of the answers given around the incident recently. According to Sony there is no evidence that indicates credit card information was obtained.

Sony sent out an email update to all PSN members informing them of the possibility of having their personal information stolen when the system was initially hacked. Sony urges all users to remain vigilant and take the necessary precautions.

Tri-Ace has been working on a new engine and it looks absolutely gorgeous. The Japan based studio has been quite for almost a year and a half after its last game. It seems like the studio is cooking up something hot for its next title.

Earlier today in a shareholder’s meeting, Nintendo revealed that the successor to the Wii system will be released next year. This announcement was followed by a press release with some high-level information about Nintendo’s plans.

F.E.A.R 3 is set to launch next month, and Day 1 Studios is getting everyone ready for the next installment in the series. Monolith will no longer be handling the franchise, but I suspect that key members from the studio will have some influence in the game as Warner Brothers is still publishing the game.

Earlier today Sony provided some more details around what the company is doing in regards to the PlayStation Network service outage. It appears that the company is indeed building out some additional infrastructure for PSN.

The PlayStation Network has been suffering from random outages starting yesterday. Users have reported sporadic issues when attempting to sign onto their PSN account. Sony just provided an update on the issue.
