Sony: 8 million moves and 50 million PS3s sold worldwide
To end the week with a bang, Sony dropped a press release choke full of sales figures. According to the press release, Sony has revealed that the company has sold 50 million PS3s worldwide, with the Move pulling its weight as well.
According to Sony the company sold approximately 8 million Moves to retailers worldwide as of April 3, which isn’t too shabby. According to GameStop vice president, Bob McKenzie, the retailer has bee struggling to keep up with the demand for Move. He stated, “With big franchise titles set for release throughout the year for the PlayStation Move, we expect the remainder of 2011 to be a period of continued sales growth for PlayStation Move."
McKenzie also revealed that the Sharp Shooter peripheral had a 40 percent attach rate with Killzone 3.
Appeal for Casual and Core Gamers Already a success with casual gamers with titles such as Sports Champions and PlayStation Move Heroes, strong sales of Killzone 3 and the PlayStation Move Sharp Shooter demonstrate PlayStation Move’s versatility and appeal to more immersive gaming experiences.
Sony also revealed actual sold to customer numbers for the PS3, putting the global count to 50 million units.

France was useless during WW2, it was up2 the UK for a few years fighting along Europe. Germany rolled through every European country it came to and they all didn’t last long. We DID NOT lose the war, in fact we were ‘winning’ that ‘war’…Remeber the following:
The US only entered that war because France, needed our aid, and participating in Vietnam and turning it into a democracy served the US’ greater interests.
What happened was, France ended up abandoning that battle, and THEN the war became “unpopular”, due to bad media propaganda, so, in order to please the US Citizens, we withdrew….but, if you really paid attention, progress was being made, but at a slower than expected pace…
Also, birdman is right, NO ARMY can really stand a chance against us, one vs one, ground or not….we own the seas, we own the skies, you really don’t think we own ground warefare….Remember the Iraqi Desert Storm….
IMO, the ONLY countries that can ( and alliances/political stances aside ) ‘go toe to toe’ with the US, is Russia (technologically, they are right up there with the US, just look at the air tech war, we were number 1 in air superiority until Russia released the…damn forgot the name of the plane, but it could run circles around our best at the time fighter plane the F15 Strike Eagle, which is why we released and rushed out the F22 Raptor….
And probably China, but thats more ‘brute strength’ through numbers…which in this day and age, is really not that great of advantage given how much more deadly our tech is than China
The above statements are just my OPINION on the matter…I HIGHLY respect the UK/England army, they have the US backs as much as the US has theirs ( i.e, when we were going in Afghani, without NATO’s permission the UK/England was right behind us ) just, on a one vs one fight…we’d win..

By one on one do you mean one American soldier vs one British soldier? If you did then no, America would not win. I’m sorry but its common knowledge that the UK has the highest trained soldiers in the world, easily. But if you mean a war between all of England and all of America? Then yes Britain would get its ass kicked 100 times over, easily, no doubt. But soldier vs soldier the British army are the envy of the world for the training.
As for Vietnam I won’t pretend to know all about it, its just been my understanding that it was a war America was losing and was not worth the loss in life so they pulled out. If I’m wrong then I apologize, I aint American so I aint clued up on it as much as you.

The US armed forces are the greatest, the US government spends so much into the military that it’s not even funny (literally).
and from what I know the US pulled out of Vietnam (which is why many ppl think US lost) was because the only reason they were there was because of France and France was already out of the war, and they was no point to keep the war going and lose many lives. Also the US citizens wanted the troops to come back home (just like Iraq).

@ Roca: its common knowledge that the British Army IS the highest trained military in the world. America has the money, tech and size. The UK has the unparalelled training. No soldier can go toe to toe with an British soldier. And there is also no unit that is anywhere near as skilled as the SBS and SAS.
I get America has a better Army than any in the world due to size and money but not training. Its fact, not arrogance, just fact. Look it up Roca, its common knowledge. Even NATO have a list of highest trained forces with UK at the top and at the top of their list of Units is SBS which is not well known and more secret than the SAS but considered more highly trained.
I’m kind of surprised there’s a lot of people who didn’t know this, even Carl who is a Marine has admitted this, he even provided links. Ill hand it to the guy he definitely is not biased. I can’t say the same tbh but in this case I know I am right.

But as for which military is considered the most highly trained, I know for a 100% fact its the British Army, a fact I have always been proud of and one of the reasons I wanted to join, to see if I had it in me to pass.
Greatest military in the world is the USA then I’d say Russia 2nd, just for money, size and tech. Training then Britain is top of the list. Our regular Infantry is trained the to US Marines standards and there’s plenty of articles to back that up. Our Marines are trained to most American Special Forces standards and our Special Forces has no equal. But we have shit equipment, I can vouch for the shit gear personally lol

My theory is this: Those who train with less material resources and more discipline are ultimately more prepared in real world warfare… the physical discipline of survival. With this theory comes my belief that British Royal Marines are more prepared (i.e. “tough”) through my own personal observations over two decades. With this theory also comes the admission that the Republic of Korea’s Marines are even more prepared (i.e. “tough”) through my own personal observations over two decades.
Ultimately the judgment is upon the organization as a whole, not individuals with within each organization pitted against each other. Even so, each organization has it’s own experience at any given point in time which gives it bragging rights. Each organization also has a certain amount that gets released to the public and that which does not. PR is key. If there is no knowledge released about certain organizations then there is no certain way of knowing which is the toughest.
When you get to the individual level it is an entirely different ball game, because some individuals are more disciplined regardless of the environment or it’s resources.
In other words, we have fuck all way of really knowing which is truly the most “badass” of all the special forces organizations throughout the world, let alone individuals within each. Suffice it to say, most of these individuals could kick anyone’s ass here in a heartbeat.
